For as long as I've had Cathe DVDs and a stability ball, I've never done work on the stability ball with Cathe. So today, instead of doing the Power Hour abs, I decided to try the KPC abs on th ball. So WOW- anyone who can do those planks just plain rocks! I was rolling all over the place! If it weren't for all of you here that can do it, I'd think it was impossible!

That was me too, at first=all over the place. You start out thinking "will I ever get this" but surprisingly it does get easier. No, not the right word...with practice, I'm now able to do them and I was once in your shoes!

I am also new to stability ball ab work, and when I do the ab work in KPC, I just do the one where you bring your knees in toward your chest (while Cathe alternates knees-in with pikes). I have not yet mastered the fine art of stability ball pikes, but I am sure if I keep trying, I'll be able to do it someday. :) That stability ball ab work is pretty tough, eh? ;)

Those pikes are the devil! The key for me was to lift myself into the pike using my hiney rather than trying heft myself up using my legs. Once I got that concept it hasn't been a problem. The only problem I still have is getting back off the ball once I'm done! Not too graceful....LOL

Today I was laughing while doing abs on the stability ball. I have gotten better though, but I took one look in the mirror while trying to do the pike thing. OMG! LOL! I'm glad no one was in the work out room with me. I think one of the other posters is right you have to hike your hiney up there instead of solely using legs. So I got up there, but my knees were still bent a little. Does that count?

Oh yeah! I almost fell off the ball doing the oblique crunches!x(

Gina, the first time I tried the pikes in PUB, I just about cried. I thought, "Not fair! I'm not a gymnast." At least, I thought only gymnasts or those with such a background, could do them. Well, eventually I got to do them. All of them. It took a few months, but I achieved what I thought was impossible. I think developing more shoulder strength helped some. But most of it came from believing that I wouldn't fall. Pikes still kill my wrists though. Maybe I need to do more of those forearm and wrist exercises from GS-BSB. Anyway, you WILL eventually get to do them. Just convince yourself you won't fall.:)

Gina - give it 2 more tries, and you'll have it. Then won't you feel proud of yourself?

I'm still waiting for the day I can do the "walking" planks from Cardio & Weights.

geez I think the ball would roll out from under me and I'd smack my face on the floor ;) I'm really that coordinated. hehe. I can do planks just on the floor though - but those still kill.
