Lump on top of foot?

I have a hard lump on top of my right foot. It is pretty big & sometimes it hurts a lot. It is only on my right foot - up in line with my big toe. It is where a strap would go if wearing sandals. I have had it for several years now.
When I was in my 30's I had a horse & he stepped on my foot. I had on cowboy boots & it didn't seem to hurt it too much at the time, but as I am getting older (I am 62) I am wondering if it somehow messed up the bones in there or something. I am wondering if it is arithitis or something. I think that it might be getting bigger also.
I like to walk for exercise but it makes my foot hurt worse when I do. Has anyone had this or seen someone that had this problem? what is it the condition called? what did you or they do?

It may be a cyst. No big deal; your podiatrist can simply drain it in most cases.

Go see a podiatrist; since it's interfering with your life, it's time.

My immediate reaction was "cyst" as well. However, I am not a medical professional. I know those can hurt...like an electric current shocking ya!

Go have it looked at. Let us know how it goes!
