Lucky ones and previews for "Body Blast"?

intensitylisa

Cathlete
;-) To all you lucky people who received your videos yesterday, do you have any previews to share with us? I will be receiving my videos today, but won't be able to do "Step Blast" until later tonight and then work my way through the rest daily. I will share my previews tomorrow!

RE: Lucky ones and previews for

Hi Lisa! Actually I consider myself "unlucky" b/c I still don't have a DVD for the tv that's in my basement where I work out. I would give ANYTHING to have those DVDs. Oh well I'll have to wait until Xmas to receive it & then I can order the BBs on DVD. I'm supposed to be receiving my tapes today (my birthday) YAY!! How's that for timing!! LOL I've worked out my rotation so I'll be doing Supersets first. Wish me luck! Best, Kathy:D

RE: Lucky ones and previews for

Hi Lisa & Debbie! Thanks so very much. I know I said I was planning on doing Supersets tonight but from doing chest/shoulders/tris last nite I've changed my mind & will be doing Kick Punch & Crunch. I'll post tomorrow w/review. Thanks again! Kathy:*

Step Blast preview!

I just did "Body Blast" tonight and boy is it a challenge. The warm-up itself is a challenge I am an old time stepper and found the choreography quite challenging, as it always is in the beginning. I posted on "Ask Cathe" re: a move called the peg leg pivot which I mastered in the breakdown but had trouble getting on the right side of the step during the actual step blast challenge. I ended up on the back of the step instead of the front (where I think I am supposed to be). I actually had a time during the workout where I stopped and said Oh my gosh I will never get this, but got right back in there. I did master the step kick, alternate leg extension and stomp which I had a preview of this summer when I took Cathe's class! Enjoy!

RE: Step Blast preview!

Oh man I wish I had gotten that VHS too! I am just chomping (okay I'll go easy) at the bit here!!!!

RE: Step Blast preview!

Hi Lisa! Step Blast sounds like an awesome workout! I did Kick Punch & Crunch last night. I must say its very easy I nailed this on the very first try w/out previewing just jumped right in (pun intended). I didn't find it challenging at all. I'm a very experienced kickboxer so I had to jump kick practically straight through the 68 min. in order to keep my heart rate up there. I'm also used to a lot of complex choreography which this just doesn't have. Its still a keeper for me but I know I won't be doing this one every week.:( I'm planning on doing Supersets tonight. Have fun! Kathy:D

TO: KathyH

:) Thanks for the update on kick, punch and crunch KathyH. I hope I feel more confident than I did last night after doing Step Blast. What a challenge. Let me know what you think of Step Blast after you do it! Have Fun!

RE: TO: KathyH

Hi Lisa! Kick Punch & Crunch is very doable first time around. I did like her squat jump side kick too. That one was new for me. Go for it! I plan on tackling (sp?) Step Blast on Sat. when I have more time & a clear head. If its at all like Rhythmic Step then I'm in trouble! LOL I heard there's 15 min. of blasts at the end. Kathy

RE: TO: KathyH

:D I didn't think the blasts were that long, maybe because they were mixed in with regular stepping in that 15 minute time frame.

Kick, Punch and Crunch review!

:D Hi all! Just did Kick, Punch and Crunch and what a SUPER video! I was surprised the video only consisted of Cathe and two crew members, Lorraine and Jaye. I enjoyed the drill section where cathe combines 2 moves each set and combines these moves into drills! Very challenging! Have Fun!

RE: Kick, Punch and Crunch review!

Hi Lisa! I finished Supersets last night. What a GREAT tape! I absolutely LOVE this one. I had suggested to Cathe to use more of the stability ball & that's exactly what I got! Yipee! Your going to go ape over this one. If you thought the low ends were bad wait till you see what you does this time. She has you doing a lot of them 7 times for each exercise! My legs were BURNING! Some new moves mostly using the stability ball & let me tell you its challenging! LOVE IT! Best, Kathy :D

Thanks for the update KathyH!

:D I will be doing supersets tonight! OUCH! Saturday I plan on fitting two videos in, Step, Pump & Jump and Push Pull. Finally, on Sunday plan on finishing out the series with Leg and Glutes then will attempt the series again until I can master "Step Blast". Let me know what you think of this one!

RE: Thanks for the update KathyH!

Hi Lisa! YOWZA! Two tapes in one day! I made that mistake w/the Intensity Series never again! LOL I'll let you know on Mon. what I thought of Step Blast & Push/Pull. I'll be doing that one on Sun. Have you mapped out your rotation yet? Kathy:D

RE: Thanks for the update KathyH!

:D I haven't really mapped out a rotation yet, though I do plan on doing the whole "Body Blast" series once again after I finish it this weekend! I will then probably go onto the "Intensity Series" though somewhere I will have to through in some strength training with S&H & PS. Have you made a rotation yet for the new series?

RE: Thanks for the update KathyH!

Hi Lisa! Yes I've already made my own rotation I've only had it for several months!! LOL I plan on sticking w/BB tapes for 1 month & then like you will go back to the Intensity Series for the next month. I've been doing Cathe's rotations for Sept. & Oct. which were very good. Once I'm finished actually doing all 6 tapes my regular rotation for Nov. will look like this:

Sat: Supersets
Sun: Step Blast
Mon: Legs/Glutes
Tues: Step Jump & Pump
Wed: Kick Punch & Crunch
Thurs: Push/Pull
Fri: Off

These new tapes allows you to alternate cardio & weights. I usually don't like to mix the 2 together on 1 day but that's just me. I really have to find the time to incorporate yoga. I haven't done yoga for 2 months & I miss it!

Have a great weekend! Kathy

RE: Thanks for the update KathyH!

I did the Push Pull this morning and I found it to be very do-able even with the weight Cathe uses.
This afternoon I did Step Blast. The new moves were easy for me to get but an old ricochet in the first section I miss the step Every time. I want to down tap with the move and end up on the wrong side of the step.

In the second section is a 90 degree turn I mess up on. The timing is like #4 on Imax 2 so I substituted that until I get the turn down.
I hope I don't jinx this tape like I did Rythmic Step. Almost 2 years of doing it at least twice a month, I still will mess up somewhere. Grrrr.
I love love the peg legs. It is a move that Janis Saffel does in her Brand New Butt + Pilates DVD. So I was sort of practiced up for that.

I previewed the Supersets. It looks do-able as well. I'm worried about the 40 pound barbell during the bench presses. While I use the equivalent weight with dumbbells, somehow the barbell looked scarey.
You have to do those dreaded 1/2 presses with that 40 pounds.
I may have to downsize. }(

I'm looking forward to the core work on the ball. Speaking of the ball, there is also chest flies, overhead presses, a new tricep pushup, a woodchop move....lots of new stuff.

I plan to do the SuperSets and later in the afternoon, do Kick Punch and Crunch tomorrow.

So far, I really love this series. A great addition to our Cathe collection.

Supersets Preview!

:D I am half way done with the "Body Blast" series and did Supersets tonight! The killers on this one are the tricep seasaw on the stability ball and the explosive legs ( I think that is what it was called). Cathe breaks the sets down into segments A and B! Have fun! So far out of the 3 videos I have done "Step Blast" is my fav!
