Lower body workout

BAM

Cathlete
Hi! This is my first time posting here and I'm not a computer person so I'm still trying to figure all this out but at least I made it this far, lol. I have Pyramid lower body and Legs & glutes and was wondering if Gym style legs or any other dvd will offer me much more than these two which I really do like. I really need to tone up every aspect of my lower body especially the inner and outer thighs. Thanks for your suggestions and I look forward to messaging with everyone!:)

Hi BAM!

Welcome to the forums!

Well, there are definitely a few other Cathe workouts I can point out for your consideration. You might want to try "Leaner Legs" also appropriately dubbed Meaner Legs! LL is a purely standing routine only, done with a 35lbs barbell so if you want something that must have floor work, you won't find it here. Pure Strength Legs & Abs is another one that's a great burner (aren't they all ;-)). This workout includes floor work, as does Gym Style Legs. I've read that GSL has the toughest floor work of any Cathe lower body workout. I personally think they're all mean, effective, and super-tough workouts and I love each one to death.

Hope this Helps :)

Thanks Faiza for the welcome and for the info! It really helped. I know all of her workouts are great. I definitely do like floorwork as I have a "not so happy" lower back, lol. I'm going to check out the dvd's that you suggested. I just did legs and glutes tonight and it really is a great one. I'm actually going to bed at night thinking about which Cathe I'll do the next day. I can't wait to get in the shape that I want and I know I'm on my way. Thanks again for your response! :D

You're most welcome, BAM!

I too love Legs & Glutes. Now that you mention your back, I would say you might try GSL next because the foor work on it is quite creative and intense, and I'm sure that'll keep you quite happy }(

I also love planning my next Cathe workout. I have so much to accomplish and I am hoping that both my endurance and appearance will improve significantly by summer if I stick it out with Cathe. Her workouts are so wonderfully addictive, I can't believe how I ever got by without them!

Best of luck with your goals. With Cathe's help, I'm sure you'll meet them in no time :)

Hey Faiza & BAM, I pretty much do the same as you.

Every a.m. when I go to the gym, which is around 5 a.m., I carry my little bag that holds my band, gloves, dvd, notepad and my bottle of water. Then when I get home, I immediately take out that dvd, put another one in the bag, put in another bottle of water, take out my outfit for the next day's a.m. w/o.

If I'm not doing a step or cardio w/o I will pop in a dvd, pull up the chapters and writer down exactly what weights I will need for that w/o.

Is that addiction or what?

Hi Faiza and Haydee! Thanks Faiza for the tip on GSL. I always look for workouts to keep my back happy. :+ I'll be adding that DVD to my wish list. It's true how addicting these workouts are. Sounds like you've been doing them for awhile. Please keep me posted on your progress. I'm sure you'll be wearing that itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini by summer. YOU GO GIRL!!!

Haydee, I don't know how you get up for a 5am workout. I've never been a morning person so I can only think of sleeping at that hour, lol. I'm sure you're energized for the day when you work out at that time. My best workout time is late afternoon. I've tried to work out in the morning and I'm just too pooped.:-(

What a great addiction to have! :) Do you think we'll have to go to any meetings for this? :p

Hi BAM & Haydee!

Wow Haydee, 5 AM? Now that's motivation! You definitely work hard and it shows. Your pics are awesome! I'd like to get my endurance up to a point where I can feel energized enough to do AM workouts. But for now, as soon as I get home from work, I'm off to my Cathe "temple" otherwise known as my bedroom ;-.

BAM, thank so much for your encouraging words. I'll keep them in mind when I am inclined to miss a workout out of laziness :p. I've been in love with my Cathe workouts for almost a year but got serious only about 1 month ago. I have the awful tendency to let myself slide and sabotage my efforts just as soon I see progress. But not this time! I've written down specific goals and I'm going to meet them no matter what! I also need to stop being a lurker and post here often. You've motivated me so I'll do the same for you. Deal?

Faiza :)

PS. BAM, have you tried incorporating planks into your routine for your back? My lower back gets a little weird at times and planks, along with Cathe's other core work have helped me strengthen that area quite a bit.

Hi Faiza! Wow, I'm sooooo similar to you. I've had Cathe workouts for a year myself but just started really getting into them the past few weeks too! I often go through phases where I'll work out for awhile then just stop.....NOT THIS TIME......FOR "ANY" OF US! :)
There'll be NO sabotage this time, ok? The way I look at it is this - each day goes by no matter what so I don't plan too much how I'm going to look in the future. Knowing that I'm doing my body good every day that I work out has been working for me and I'm bound to make improvement without even thinking about it! That bathing suit will be your reward. Watch out beaches!!! :D If I plan too far into the future, it doesn't seem real to me. But I can handle planning tomorrow's Cathe workout. That's VERY doable, lol. I'd love to have a mutual motivation partner. So many of us are doing the same thing and it's so nice to know that other's are in the same place. So let's get going and only focus on one day at a time. Hey, that's all reality allows anyway, lol.

Thanks for the plank suggestions. In fact, I did Cathe's Chest & Back last night and I should have sat on my bench for the rows but I didn't and my back ain't smilin' today . :-( But she did have planks in that routine and it reminded me how good they are so you're suggestion is quite timely! I probably am going to take it easy today. I have to go to a wake in a little while and doubt I'll do much after that. Tomorrow is the funeral so I have to see how it goes. I'm already trying to decide which workout I'll do next. Oh, I know, it will be Kick, Punch & Crunch. That's just an awesome workout! Let me know which workout you do today and I'll talk to you soon! Here's to a happy body, mind and spirit! :7
