Lower Body/Freestyle Rotation April 29

Hi everyone!

This morning was active recovery. Twenty minutes of ab work.

Diana,

FYI, when I lift heavy, say 50-70 lbs, my pants always get tighter. I've noticed that if I stay around 40 lbs for the heaviest weight, I don't have that problem. I'm 5'0 and 123 lbs. I wear a size 6
usually. I've been staying between 25 and 35 lbs for the weight work I'm using on this rotation.

Candi, you are really petite!

All I did last night was a 6.2 mile run. I was feeling tired and even had to run slower. I plan on doing legs each night the rest the week.

I think I over did the leg work last week. I was pretty sore and my hip was hurting too. I need to lighten up the weight and ease into the 4-6 days of leg work.
I am reading the book now, so hopefully that will help me out.

I guess I qualify as petite. Everywhere except for my hips.

The reason I even mentioned it is because Diana had a question regarding why her legs seem bigger in her pants. She is 5'2". I was having the same problem last year and lowering my weights worked for me.

How are you doing, Beverly? How's your Dad? What part of Indiana do your parents live in? I lived in Valparaiso for about 3 years when I was in Junior high. I loved it.
 
I am 5'2" also, small frame ... my hips are now at 34in...I am working on getting them down 1 more inch at least..... I am only doing the lower exercises in the book, plus the exercises Sherry gave me for the butt and hips....... maybe the pilates too at least once a week....... plus I am going as close to the book as I can on my nutrition, what I mean is by calories not the exact foods....... I now weigh what I weighed at 21 and I am 44 :7 ... and I feel great too except for this head cold that is almost gone lol..... Oh yeah I also do those rope squats, these are deep squats, but effective I do believe, you can see a pic of them on www.sherrygideons.com and click on home gym ..... Rhonda :7

what I am working on is getting everything toned and defined.

Candi you are a tiny little thing. I agree with you bout heavy lifting. I usually lift heavy too, and my thighs only get bigger. Now, I’m learning that its not always necessary to lift heavy just as long as you’re lifting and with perfect form, right.

This morning I did, MIS Abs & 45 minutes on me treadmill. Tonight Legs & Glutes. Since I been using lighter weights, I’m going to lift as heavy as I possible can.

Again, I stepped on the scale this morning down 4 lbs ( I couldn’t believe it). I had to step off and then back on several times. I think when you binge and pick up a few lbs, that its’ only a temporary weight gain and easier to take back off. Do you guys notice this too?

I’ve been sticking with WW plan to the T and it’s paying off. However, I still have a ways to go. Enjoy your day!

Hi everybody,

I did KPC and Firm 5 day abs this morning. The KPC cardio really wiped me out today. I am finding that it is taking me a lot longer than I thought to recover from taking a week off.

Tomorrow is either ME or PUB/PLB (up only). I really like doing my abs every day and am seeing a big change already.

p.s. Teddygirl, you crack me up! I am keeping the weight I lost from the flu off and every morning I get on and off the scale 3 or 4 times because I can't believe I haven't regained. Hats off to you for losing the big 4 - that's awesome! :7
 
Hi Candi,

I grew up in Portage In. Right by Valparaiso. My parents still live in Portage. I am going to Indianapolis where my dad is having treatments for 5 days and then up to Portage to see my sister.

I will probably only be able to get in some running next week. I am taking my bands and jump rope. I guess I can do push ups and sit ups too.

My hips measure between 35.5 and 36 inches depending on the day. My waist is 25.5 inches. That 10 inch difference drives me crazy.

I remember Portage on the highway signs. Right outside of Valpo. I don't know how much it's changed but used to be soybean fields and corn fields as far as the eye could see. My Dad was in the Army stationed in Gary. There used to be a missile battalion there. Don't know if it still is. I can't remember the name of the base, though.

I know it's going to be a rough trip for you but hang tough.

Candi, I also have a big waist to hip ratio. My hips are about 36 1/4 inch. My waist is 25 and 3/4 inches. I guess I could round my numbers, but what the heck. Every 1/4 inch counts.

I hope my thighs don't grow next week, since I won't be able to do any weight training. I think I will try to do some leg work without weights. Something is better than nothing. I will definetely run.I plan to come back with the book mostly read and hit the legs hard.

Your waist to hip ratio in your pictures looks just perfect! And, you have great legs to boot. We are our own worst judges, aren't we?

Enjoy the book. Hopefully I'll be getting mine by the end of the week.

Well today I did stepworks and that's all I can fit it today. My son his having a literacy fair at school tonight so no wts. today.

Hi Candi-actually I am 5'4, and would be blessed if I could weigh 123lbs. I'm going to take the advice and lower my wts more. I just hope it isn't due to lack of cardio. In the Body Code book it says for my body type to never do leg wts and just do cardio and upper body wts. There's just so much conflicting information out there. I like lifting heavy and doing a lot of cardio, but I intend to follow the plan for 8 wks and see where I am at. No wt loss so far.

Teddygirl and Lori-fantastic job on the wt. loss, keep up the good work.

Isn't the so called perfect body 36-24-36, a 12 inch difference. There is no perfect number for each of us we just need to try work our bodies to be the best bodies we can make, which will be different for all of us.

Well Diana, I know this one works for me, my lower body is definately getting smaller, when I start Freestyle my hips had gotten back up to 37 because of the holidays, well today they were 34in, I am pleased, I am trying to lose one more inch from my hips.
I really like doing this Freestyle Method, I don't have to put dvd's in anymore, now I can exercise without having to have anything but my equipment and a TV to listen to and watch while I workout..... Rhonda

I also really like doing these rope squats........
