LOWER BODY CHALLENGE 7/28

Teddygirl

Cathlete
Morning,

I hope I am not stepping on anyone’s toes here, for starting this thread today. My thoughts, today would be a good day as any, right!

Last night, I did Cardio Kicks & PS lower body & Abs.

For the next several weeks or so, my goals are to really concentrate on toning my lower body especially my thighs and develop me a six pack but will be happy with a 4 pack ;o) I’m hoping that Ab Ripper will get me there.

What’s up with you guys?

Teddygirl~

Well, hello Teddygirl and everyone else:

This morning was a Billy Blanks TAE BO tape. One from the GET RIPPED series. I've decided that I'm going to concentrate more on kickboxing because I really love to do it. I think it's because I always feel I'm working out my whole body as I'm doing it. Then I did some CATHE abs and planks.

Tomorrow will be CTX upper body split and ME for legs.

Have a great day!

I really missed checking in with you guys:7

Hey there Teddygirl -

I have missed chatting with everybody from this group. In fact, I have really slacked off since we stopped checking-in. I went away on vacation and then was sick for a week, so I've taken 2 weeks off.

I'm with you, I really want to tone up my lower body before it is time to step back into my jeans for fall. Surely, we can do this in about 3 weeks - yes?

My eating has been pretty clean. I'm back on the BFL diet, but haven't worked out yet this week. I'm just so tired lately. It's hard to come up with a routine that will get me on the right track. What is everyone else doing? Teddy, are you still on Power 90X? Last I heard, you were doing awesome. Beverly posted pics the other day and she looks fantastic.

I just need to lose those last 5, and am finding it harder to do than pushing mud uphill.

Hi Ladies,

It sounds like we are all ready to work hard and have a goal in mind. I am trying to reduce my thighs just a tad bit more. I am going to focus on getting legs in 4 times a week and more floor work with the legs/instead of mostly standing.

Last night was a 6.2 mile run.

I just want to share what I did last week for legs that I enjoyed and felt effective.

Sunday: Long run (10.5 miles) Been a long time since I went that far.
Monday: SJP
Tuesday: 6.2 mile run and ankle weight premix from legs and glutes
Wednesday: 3.2 mile interval run and spin class (first time spinning) Fun!!!!
Thursday: 5.8 miles and PP
Friday: 5.5 miles
Saturday: 7.5 miles and PS floor work (abs too).

I did get legs in 4 times, but no long grueling leg work. It seemed to work good for me.

Have a great day ladies and I am glad we are checking in again. Maybe more people will join us also.

Beverly

Hi Ladies, So good to here from you guys. I really missed checking in to.

Candi, I love kickboxing to and you are definitely right, it does work the entire body, I’m really sore today. That was a very good choice to follow up with Planks and then more ab work. Work them abs girl, nice work!

Beverly, you are awesome woman! And so dedicated. Thank you for posting your routine, that routine will get your legs down, for sure. Keep up the good work.

Shopgirl, I’m still working P90x but I am NO were near working it the way I should be. In fact, I have only did maybe four tapes out of the 12, but the four I do, I absolutely love. I keep trying to follow BB classic rotation, but I can’t! I miss doing Cathe’s workouts. And sometimes trying to do 2 workouts back to back can be a bit much, you feel me. So on them day when I’ve two workouts scheduled Ms. Cathe wins every time.

I’m going to do another 12 week rotation using Cathe & P90x, because they do complement each other so nicely. I know Ab ripper will give me the results that I’m looking for, so I’m going to get busy, and I mean busy. Hang tough! It won’t take you long to lose 5 lbs. You work pretty hard yourself.

Tonight, I’m going to start my workout with Ab ripper and then shoulders & arms. Because, if I wait until I finish my workout by the end of it I’m pooped and my form is to sloppy to complete or attempt Ab ripper. So its’ on!

ps
You girls really inspire me to become all I can. (((HUGS)))

Beverly,
I'm short on time, but would like to know how long does it take you to run your varying miles? Say the 6.2 miles, what is your time?
I haven't ran in years, and with the results you've gotten, I may try to start it again, we live on a 30 acre farm, I could run around the perimeter, so I'd just like a guess-ta-mation of how long it takes you to run the different miles you've listed.
Thanks

Hi Melissa,

A 6.2 mile run will take me about an hour on an average day. If it is a 6.2 mile race it will be 50 minutes or so. I run anywhere form 8-10 minute miles depending on how I am feeling.

I hope that helps.

Morning ;o)

Last night, I had a great workout. I didn’t do shoulders & arms, heck, I never even opened it. I did chest & back, man oh man that’s a great piece of work. My chest is on firer. I did all the push ups on my knees, slow and with perfect form. And I used my door gym for the pull ups. I even nailed ab ripper. I’m going to do ab ripper every other day, great workout. If that don’t rip me, nothing will ;o)

Anyway, I hope you guys had a great workout and a good day.

Tonight: Plyometrics & a long walk (4/5 miles)

Teddygirl~

Hi Ladies,

I got my run in last night, but did not feel like weights. I plan to get them in tonight though.

Teddygirl, sounds like you had a good workout. Have a great walk tonight!!

Good morning :)

I am going to try something different this evening - some ab work and swimming laps. I have been so tired lately that I can't get up to workout like I normally do. So I have to bump my workouts to the evenings and then I can't use the TV (God forbid the rest of the family doesn't get to watch The Simpsons x( ). So tonight, I'll swim laps to see if that can get me back in the groove.

I've been trying to come up with a lower body rotation to start next week. The goal is to drop 5 pounds and firm up the lower body in the month of August.

Sun - Boot Camp
Mon - PUB, IMAX2 (intervals 1-5)
Tues - KPC or Tae Bo, ab work
Wed - L&G, ab work
Thurs - Advanced High Step
Fri - MIS
Sat - IMAX2 - all, ab work
Sun - Yoga and rest

Let me know what you think. I'd appreciate any input you ladies have.

Thanks.
Shopgirl :)

Shopgirl,

That looks like a great rotation.

I did as planned this morning. CTX upper body split and ME legs. Tomorrow is KP&C and some ab work.

I'm going on vacation to Mexico the first week of September. It's a diving trip and I'll pretty much be living in a bathing suit for seven days so I'm thinking about doing the South Beach Diet for a few weeks to lose some weight. Notice I said "thinking about it" but I'm trying to prepare myself mentally. It would mean no Marguerita at happy hour on Friday for a few weeks! WAAAAA! Gee, what a crybaby.

HI all, I am still doing freestyle just not real consistant, but I am keeping my weight the same so no problem there. I am going to start back in consistantly on monday............
Glad to see everyone........... Rhonda:7
