Low Impact Cardio Fusion

I really liked this one. The step moves on the floor were fun (but I kept messing up the shuffle for some reason!). Appreciated that the upper body moves used weights (fast unweighted arm movements during cardio irritates my joints). Lots of variety, and just enough impact. If cardio is the “vegetables” of your workout schedule, you should enjoy it

Thanks for sharing. I do enjoy cardio workouts :) so I'm looking forward to these. The cardio was a major selling point for this series for me. I was happy to see familiar step choreography in this one .... love that triples around the board, altho I won't be shaking my fingers like Cathe did in a step workout years ago ... thumb arthritis took the fun out of that!

I think it would be fun for Cathe to do more cardio workouts for us using fun familiar step choreography but without the step, and in these shorter time frames. :)
Yay, that’s great that you had fun with the choreography ❤️

I just did this one this morning. It flew by and was fun. I really enjoyed the weighted cardio moves. They broke up the workout and kept it interesting. I had to stop and catch my breath many times. It's so nice to see the whole crew working out together, year after year. Kristin (crew member with blonde hair at the back?) always has such a bright smile on her face - even in the live classes.

Siobhan, the blonde at the very back is Nicole (she's in alot of the CatheLives) and I agree, I have really
enjoyed watching her & the other girl at the back who is Lisa, I believe, they can be so funny sometimes,
usually in the CatheLives they are side by side too.

Did this workout this afternoon. It was fun with pretty uncomplicated moves and very minimal high-impact (which you can always choose to modify). The music was cute - not quite the heavier EDM that I prefer in my workouts, but those who don't care for that kind of music might find this one's soundtrack pleasant and peppy.

As far as intensity goes, this really didn't hit the mark for me. I don't consider myself a honed athlete by any means - there are workouts of Cathe's that are so intense they tend to gather lots of dust on them before I do them again. For comparison's sake, workouts I find to be edging on "never again" are ones like Strong & Sweaty's Cardio Slam, or Intensity (the one with the black and yellow workout outfits).

This did get my heart rate up, and it kept it in a general steady-state cardio zone. Just didn't have quite the oomph I'm used to with most of Cathe's cardio. If I were to compare this to any other cardio, I'd say it's kinda like LITE Cardio Party, only less intense. I can see myself using this workout on days when I need a bit of a break.

I also chose to do the workout without the band marker as I worry it'll be come a tripping hazard for me. Maybe I need to bring it out as its presence may get me to subconsciously lift my feet higher which would maybe result in a bit more intensity. I wonder, too, if I might bring out my step for the last portion where she turns the band horizontal to mimic a step. I know that would increase the intensity a bit, too.

One final note, and I'm curious to see if others who've received the DVDs notice this, but the picture quality seemed almost low-res. Not horribly pixelated or anything, but Cathe didn't look as crisp as I usually see in her other workouts, like in STS 2. And Lisa and Nicole were borderline blurry when viewed from the front-facing camera angle.

I tried fudging around a bit with my TV's picture settings to see if maybe something was wonky there, but really couldn't get much improvement.

It didn't make the workout impossible to do, but I had to get past the feeling like I needed my glasses for a bit.
