Low Carbers & Friends - June

Rhea - Hope that means today ;)! It's June now, ya know :p!

Melinda - I think it's awesome you're going to take classes :D! Even if you end up changing your mind and switching to something different, it definitely beats spinning your wheels in a place you're not happy! I am keeping my fingers crossed DH finds employment soon! As for the rotation, I may go for it - I did kinda enjoy doing my own thing when I did it before. For now, I know what I want to do for June and July - but there's plenty of room for changing my mind built in there ;).

Tracy - Is it still raining up there? We're still cool but I'll take that over heat any day .

Hey, same type of weather down here. Sunny one whole day, then clouds. Getting a little old. At least this week it is warmer than the 40s. whooo hooo.

Going strong on the BFFM challenge. I think I'm going to start a thread with my progress, food logs and training log since I've decided to put STS as my weight training program. Also using STS cardio right now. That way you can follow if you want.

Okay, off to Quincy today....have a great rest of the day.

I am sooo happy you're doing well with BFFM :D!!!!!! But you WILL still be checking in with us, won't you ?

It's June! summer time!

we have been hot all last week, then got some good storms on Monday. The garden is well watered now and the tomato plants are taking root. DH planted beans, this is a first for us, but they're a few inches now. also got 2 green pepper plants growing.

I am doing the last week of Meso 3 week 4 in STS, then we are going on vacation!!! and the kids aren't going, they have there own trip planned with the church. It will truely be a relaxing time. I'm going to bring the computer and some dvds to do cardio or ab work.

Got to see that not only the community college has the traditional degrees, but they have a Career development program for people that don't want traditional college. I showed it to DS and he was interested. He is smart, but just wants hands on things, no book studying. So I showed him this and he said he was interested. We will make an appt. to see a counselor. I hope this can work out for him, he's been out of high school for a year and working part time at Best buy and finding that it is getting him no where! will let you all know how that goes.

Monday was Meso 3, week 4 chest/back
Tue was walk 45 min
Wed will be legs

Hi babes! We are definitely off to a chatty start for June! Thanks for getting us all started Lita! :D

Melinda, I don't blame you a bit for wanting the same opportunities and pay as others who are RNs with less experience! And I think it's great that you can do it all at the community college so it won't cost you an arm and a leg. I finished up my schooling 20 years ago and it was $6,000 then so I think you have a good deal going there! And I hope DS finds something he likes. Where are you going on vacation?

Rhea, you are rocking BFFM! Yippee! Are you going to be posting on the STS thread here?

We're raining here AGAIN! I actually like the heat because it takes so long to get here! Don't care for the heat when working out but I like the change from the rain.

I think I'll probably do my own thing this summer. Doing the workouts with the meetup group over the summer may be challenging enough!

Did Muscle Max today. I must be on some kick to beat myself up thoroughly. Wow!

Tracy - I'm posting on the challenge thread. Didn't think about the STS thread. Oh well.

Rhea - Believe me, you'll NEVER bore us so you just feel free to tell us anything you want :D! Besides, we want to cheer for you and all the progress you're making !

Melinda - HAPPY VACATION :D! I think you should skip the workouts, do whatever activity comes along that you feel like doing, or do nothing at all! All work and no play makes Melinda a dull girl ;).... I think the college options are exciting for both you AND your son :)!

Tracy - That sounds like a good plan for the summer. With the wonky weather, it's hard to commit firmly to anything specific, ya know ;)? What kind of things are you doing with the group? So far I remember stair climbing and roller skating - and I gotta tell ya, one I detest and the other would be downright dangerous for my health, I think ! Sure glad you have more gumption than I do!

Believe me Lita, reading what I eat all day is a zonker. LOL I've got to learn to expand the taste bud horizon!

Hello!

This is what I'm finding... I get all these grand ideas about what I want to do in the summer, then it gets warm and I lose my energy and it all goes out the window! But I won't give up yet, will see what happens when we get back.

We are going to Myrtle Beach, SC. Will get some swimming in and we'll walk on the beach.

Rhea, I at times will decide to write down what I eat and find that it's pretty much the same things over and over again.

Tracy, the I workout in my basement, which is freezing in the winter, but a haven in the summer. If I had to be upstairs I'd have very little energy. I can see how you wouldn't want to do a lot of cardio in the heat!

Lita, what is the weather like there. It's been in the mid 80s and very humid here.

Rhea - I personally like consistency . But boy, when I decide to break out.... .....

Melinda - We are having perfect weather . Today was mid to upper 60s with sun and a light breeze :D. Being close the sun, that makes it plenty warm! I never appreciated that back in PA - but the elevation out here makes a big difference in feeling those rays!

All right, where did everyone go?

Today I did aerobic housecleaning, but that's about it.

Rhea - You have far too much fun, girl ! Actually, I was doing the yard and house - ergo, no internet all weekend long :). 'Tis the season, ya know  ;).

Hi babes!! Thank you for the birthday wishes Lita!!! :D

Melinda, I agree with Lita--just do what you feel like on vacation. Most of the time I don't workout on vacation, I give myself permission to relax. And I worked out at my last house in the basement and I do miss the coolness of that room in the summertime!

Rhea, I eat the same things over and over also. I'm lucky I don't get too bored with what I eat! I did aerobic house cleaning this weekend too. Too busy this past weekend, now I'm tired already! :p

Lita, my meetup group has done circuit workouts where stations have been set up, AWT, isometric exercises, workouts involving a hill and some others I can't think of. We did Nordic walking last week, which I think you and Melinda would get alot out of. You walk with poles, but they are behind you, not in front of you. It's low impact, but works your muscles too. I really liked it and hope I can do it again soon. Let me know if you would like some more info on it!

Today was a CIA dvd I got for less than $10, Step Generations with Strength Circuit. I really like it, and it's the one I wanted to do on my birthday. :) Tomorrow is Power Hour and then I will be hit and miss till next week. Hair appt. Weds., then my parents are visiting for a few days--yippee!

Have a great week babes!!!!!!!!

Tracy - Good heavens, woman, I get challenged enough keeping control of my own two feet :p! I can't imagine using poles - especially if they're behind me   ! The poles in front sound good (if that would even work  ) but somehow I can't see me hiking the streets in town doing it . Maybe once I got to the walking paths - but they're only a small part of my daily walk :(. However, I would love more information - maybe I can concoct something, you never know !

Did you have a happy birthday :)?

Geesh Tracy - I hope you did something fun on your birthday besides working out! No matter what you did I hope it was wonderful and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, belated...

Hey, Rhea - how goes BFFM :)? How goes life, for that matter ;)?

Melinda - Hope you're having a grand vacation!

Reece - Are you still out there :(?
