Low Carbers & Friends - Feb 2011

Yes thank goodness it is February already. All it means to me is that the daylight hours are getting longer and the snow will melt faster!!! Let's see if there is a picture to look at for you. I know they are on my MobileMe , but not sure how to attach! Hmm I'll be back.

Well we're not quite there yet, Rhea ;) but we soon will be. Guess you're one of the ones that will be happy we go to DST so early this year :). I'm just not happy about time zipping away in general ... the years are going by far too quickly for my liking .

Hope you find that picture - you know how excited we get to see them :D!

I like warm weather to linger, but the cold weather can zip by IMO! I hate feeling trapped in the house. I'm also glad daylight savings is sooner, I wish we didn't change the clock at all and would keep it to that time.

I did GS back, shoulders, biceps. Thought I started the play button for the whole workout, but it ended after 52 min, so I think I must have gotten one of the premixes. Oh, well. I enjoyed the workout, loved the slower pace. It's been ages since I've done that workout.

Yea, February!

Melinda - I'm used to being the oddball who prefers standard time ;). I would be very happy if we kept it here all year long - but I always have to be different :p. That's the workout I did today :D! We're kinda scary how often we're in sync!

Got up nice and early and Burn Circuit #3. Ow.

Let's try those pictures again, had to go and sync the ipad with the 'puter so they would be in the right spot for attaching.
Well, for pete's sakes, something must have happened last night when I wasn't paying attention because they are not here. Err.

Okay, I'm going to try it this way, through the regular forum. For some reason, through the app for the ipad, it will not pick up the latest download to my iphoto. Wierd.

Okay, forget that one, it won't let me choose. I suppose I've got to get back to work....

Trying again after updating the app....Yippee it worked!!!

Awesome, Rhea !!! Thanks for persevering - it is so exciting to watch the progress being made :D!

Lita, I like daylight savings because I like the light later in the evening so we have time to go for walks/bike rides, etc after work. None of that is going to be happening early in the a.m. for us!

I did GS legs on Wed and Thur GS chest/tri. I actually enjoyed the GS series this week. I will repeat it again next week.

Hi babes! Thank you for starting the thread for this month Lita! I have to admit I was a bit shocked we had a new thread already!

I'm loving the longer daylight. And I do love daylight savings time because it's too dark and gray here on a regular basis!

Rhea, your house looks beautiful! Thank you for posting more pictures!

I guess I'm in the minority for liking MMA KB! I don't care for MMA Fusion really, I've only done it once so that ought to tell me something!

Melinda, congrats on your son getting his license! The van probably won't be the last dead battery he encounters in his driving career. :)

No workout tonight, went out with some friends instead. Did FP's Weights First the other day, then a kettlebell workout and another new Tracie workout yeaterday. It's still a challenge to get them done with BB but I'm still trying! I want to get here more often too and will keep trying there too.

Have a great weekend babes!

Tracy, glad to see you! How is Basil doing? Is he being a good student in his classes?

I did the GS series this week and have big time DOMS. I can not do the wall climbing today, don't think I could hold myself up! Maybe we will go tomorrow. The pass expires on the 8th, so if we don't go tomorrow, we won't go any more.

Gray, cold and just above freezing, we have rain. Yuck!

Here's some new ones. Been real busy between work and house. Have to paint the interior this week before the cabinets go in on the 14th!!!! Hopefully it will be dry enough today to do the prep coat before the texture tomorrow.

Hey, where'd the pictures go?

Let's try that again....

Hi babes! Melinda, Basil is doing so-so in class. He is inconsistent and gets distracted easily but it doesn't frustrate me or anything. :) He wants to play with the other pups even though they get play time before class! :D He started 2 weeks late and it was recommended that he take the puppy classes again. I'm fine with that. We'll be tested next week and I know Basil isn't going to pass alot of the criteria! We work with him on basic commands every day. Some days go better than others! :p

Rhea, your house is coming together quickly!! I can't wait to see it all done. It's going to be beautiful I know it!

I did stair climbing for the first time in 6 or 7 weeks yesterday and I sure feel it today! Trainer Christe wants me to do a huge stair climb in Seattle in early March and I don't see myself getting enough practice time in before then. Today was LIC and my legs didn't like it a whole lot. :p

Rain, I'm OK with. Ice I'm not. :)

Have a great rest of your week!

Tracy, what is Cristie's idea of "huge stair climb". Just wondering. Basil will make it eventually, as long as you are consistant. Sometimes that is hard for me.

Rhea, with the drywall up, the rooms look bigger! Can't wait to see more pics!

Lita, where are you? This is not like you, I hope you're ok.

Sun: we went wall climbing for the last time. Good thing, I have blisters developing on the tips of a couple toes from the shoes.

Mon: rode stationary bike 30 min
Tue: off
Wed: Muscle max

Kind of nice pulling out some of the older workouts

Lita probably went on vacation and didn't tell us. LOL Either that or the mean bosses won't let her on the forum. Or she's snowed in! Gosh, I hope the snow isn't too bad there. We haven't had any here for a long time. I've actually been able to paint outside.

I'm off most of today (after court) and then I won't be back until Monday. I'll be painting all weekend, doesn't that sound like fun?

Melinda - How sweet of you - I'm here and okay, thanks :)! Just kinda in a funk, ya know ? Once again we're in sync on the workout type this week :p.

Rhea - I wish I were on vacation :p! The good boss is gone this week leaving me to deal with the cranky one - but he's still nowhere near the BJ you work for ! Not much snow but lots of ice and below zero temps again . The winds came up last night so we're warming up now - and I can get even warmer when I shovel all the drifted snow ;). Amazing how a little snow can make some pretty hard shoveling ....

Tracy - I'm with Melinda :). Basil will soon get it all together. He is just a pup, after all ;). And like all children he has to push the boundaries to see how serious you are about it all :p.

Anyway, I pulled out several oldies myself this week and really enjoyed the change. I noticed that since I've spent several weeks alternating S&H and GS (slowing GS down where it's faster paced and using all weights instead of band for the most part) that I have actually gotten stronger . I've never gotten that before using those workouts because I've always followed the tapes as are scripted. It's only been this time around that I've gotten any results and I think it's because I've been ignoring Cathe's tempo and going slower on everything. I noticed Tuesday when I did PUB that the weights didn't seem too heavy and figured it was a fluke. But today I did the same workout and even added a "pre-exhaust" set before every group (but shoulders) and still was able to go up on almost every single exercise ! It still might be a fluke, but for today it made me happy :p.

Lita, I understand the funk thing. Glad I'm not in one at the moment. I was super busy this week. The owners and sales people came in from MN, Wash DC, and RI to my city. I met with them 2 days. Took a lot out of me. It was very nice, but still higher level of stress.

Now, today I have about 2-3 hours of studying. Blah! DH is doing school work too. Spring break will be a happy relief. Mar 14 is my final, just 1 month away!

Thur and Fri just did 20 min on bike, too tired for anything else, but this was good to get the circulation going. We are suppose to get warmer temps by the end of next week. That will be nice if it is true. I'd at least like to see this ice melt.

Lita, I like your ideas with the workouts. I did GS last week, but one thing I noticed was I got neck pain again. Haven't had it in a long time because STS has safer moves. I will have to modify like you did, I'd like to do that series again this week.

Have a good weekend everyone.
