Just a hair short of the agony Super Cuts puts me through, lol... So sorry I didn't root for the 49ers :eek:... But gosh - too many teams to root for :p! Don't tell Tracy but I'm rooting for Denver in the SB...

Melinda - Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! I knew you'd do it :cool:! I have to go lighter on GS too - everything is just too fast and I end up being herky-jerky. I love your statement "No need to hurt myself...and for what? As long as I'm functionally fit and can maintain my strength and flexibility, I'm good." I think the 2nd sentence is going to be my new mantra :D! The last time I did S&H it didn't appeal to me, either :(. And to think it used to be my fave... And I didn't like 4DS when it first came out and now it's in my top 3 (after LI and XT).

Tracy - Good luck with those stairs Sunday :D! I do think I'm going to keep LI/XT separated - that way I don't burn myself out on either series :).

CONGRATULATIONS MELINDA!!! I knew you'd rock those boards!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the job and the bitter cold that's coming! The DM of a friend mine lives in Indiana. After the first blast, she started packing to move back to the NW! :p

Lita--I am shocked!! You're going to root for Denver?!? Grrr. :mad: They've already won a SB, the Seahawks never have. And our QB is cute! :p I got a great laugh tonight when DH bought BB a small kids Seahawks shirt to wear. :D

I wrote down what the bonus contains on the LI series and I think it's the same bonus on both LIC and Cardio Supersets. There is no warm up, and it goes right into cardio on an 8" step. Then arm work is done with the cardio on the step (and each routine is done twice). There's push ups on the step w/ the discs, power 15s, lat raises on the step and tricep dips with a kick. I haven't done it myself.

In preparing for the stair climb, I did Athletic Training today and it just about did me in! :eek: I haven't been doing much step work since I don't have a step at work so I paused it alot during the cardio portions. :rolleyes: Yikes! I've done Afterburn more often and I have tomato head after that one--it's always a killer that I have to psych myself up for. And I agree Lita--Super Cuts is a close second for agony production!!

I too have been sticking with the newer workouts, and haven't touched too many of the older ones for awhile. I like the new endurance workouts because I can go lower on the weights but I still get a good workout. I think that's a good idea Lita, go heavy for strength!

I have a friend who has overdone it running for too many years and she told me that she can barely get done her stairs when she gets up in the morning. She's 45. I'm thankful that I tend to make things easier on myself than overdo it...

Tracy - I am sure BB is entirely tooooo cute in that shirt :D! As for Denver... I'm only doing it because everyone here (and my sister) wants Peyton to get a second SB under his belt to tie his brother. My sister says the Seahawks QB is young and has lots of time to other SB wins in :rolleyes:. Anyhoo....

Awesome - thank you :cool:! Certainly sound the same for sure! Maybe I'll have to do that since I have refused to even try with the last 2 step routines. Just not worth the frustration ;)... That way I can do the first two with the blast and the bonus work. Sounds good to me!

Bet you were really glad Ath Tr only has a short step routine and isn't as long as IMax or some of the others :p!!! That one, Afterburn and Super Cuts are definitely killers (aka tomato head makers, lol!) and going back to them after a break is enough to put the fear of Cathe into anyone :D!

Lita, have you tried the LI bonus yet? I did Afterburn today and Super Cuts is in my future this week too with the XT/LI rotation. I think Cathe really wants me to hate her! :p:D

So I was checking Facebook today and popped onto Tracie Long's page. People were posting about a Live Fit Prime dvd that just came out that had Tracie, Susan, JAC and Nancy Stevens I think. So I googled it and found it here for sale:

Not much else going on here other than major SB exhilaration and pretty cold temps. Hope they don't head east.

Hey, Tracy :D! No, I haven't tried the LI bonus - I'm back to XT for 4 weeks (maybe 8) before I go back to the LI series. Next time through I'll be sure and try it :).

Well - we're at -15 and tonight to get to -27 so I think you didn't do such a hot job keeping it in WA :p.

Hopefully Melinda isn't snowed under in OH :(! And that Rhea - suppose she's out skiing or golfing ;)?
 
Wow, Tracy, I don't know how you recognized me in that little picture. Were you at that FitPrime thing? I don't remember and don't see you in the pic if you are. Do you all remember Jenn who used to be on our thread on FitPrime website? She's in the red top with black shorts next to me.

So I just got back from FL. We barely made it out of OH due to a big snow storm. Then when we got down there it was drizzles for 3 days and temps in 50's. BLAH! They say it's never like that. We must have brought the weather with us. Then it finally warmed up. The next to the last day it was close to 80, OH SO NICE!!! I was very happy. Then on our trip home some big thunder/lightening storm came into Tampa and flights got delayed. Ours was only by 20 min, but a big tail wind pushed the plane to Ohio and we arrived on time! DH's family and mine all want us to move down there.

Trying to get back into exercise (we sat a lot). Did STS yesterday and will do that to do heavier wt work. I didn't follow the rotation, just using it to do wts. Anyways, my pants are tight and I feel fat!

Welcome back, Melinda :cool:! Glad you were gone for the terrible weather OH was getting! I know it wasn't that good in FL but I'm sure cool drizzle beats frigid snow any day ;)!

I was able to click on the picture to make it bigger I think Melinda. Glad you were safe both coming and going to FL! I'm glad you finally got warm weather too. Feel free to call me a wussy fraidy cat but I don't air travel from Dec-Feb. anymore. Too many delays or cancellations and the NW isn't as good dealing with bad weather (which is nothing like yours Lita and Melinda) so I avoid it! :p

Uh, sorry about sending that cold weather your way Lita! I'm hoping to send you some warmer weather now! Highs around 48, lots of rain. Finally! We haven't had any rain this year! Portland is at least 50% of their normal rainfall. So as much as I am usually tired of it by now, bring it on I say! :D

I believe I forgot to tell you ladies how I did on the stair climb in Portland at the end of Jan. :) I did the first and second 40 flights at a pretty good pace, to the point where I had to stop twice on the second set because I was just too winded. After that, I took a 15 minute break, then did my last flight with a friend at a more leisurely pace. They timed us only during the climbing itself, not during our rest periods. Well, to my shock and amazement, I came in first in my age group for 120 flights! :eek: Who would've thunk it? :confused: Must not have been too many people past fitty climbing that day! (I often say fitty rather than 50. :D)

I'm still doing the XT/LI rotation, finished week 8 today. Well, as I did week 8 that is! :eek: I never do every workout listed for the week....

Celebrated the retirement of one of the paralegals I supervise this week. Did interviews for her replacement and it's been incredibly draining trying to decide who to hire (or promote is the better word). I couldn't be happier that it's 3 day weekend!!

Yep, I was off yesterday! Sorry been MIA, but too many dang things going on around here. I'm still adjusting to fixing more food and more workouts....okay, that's my excuse anyway...lol Plus DH has been off, which for some reason makes me busier? I can't wait until he goes back to work....

Okay, workouts for me lately have been a bit of the old Cathe. I did Pure Strength and Slow and Heavy for the first four weeks of the BFFM challenge. Then I switched it up last week and did mainly Gym Style....forgot how much I loved those workouts. Also added High Reps to the workouts, just left out muscle groups that I was doing in Gym Style the next day....best way was to do chest and triceps after High reps, that way, only two groups left out. I love the disc work in High reps. For some reason this morning, I felt like I was extra weak doing that workout this morning, I think I'll blame it on doing more of the drop set pushups...yeah, that's it....wore out faster. :p
 
Rhea - So glad to see you :cool:!!!! Somehow I'm not surprised DH is a lot of work when he's off - men are just kinda that way, IMHO. But then, I'm divorced so what do I know :p??? We got a bit over a foot (really unusual for us) the first weekend of the month and thankfully, most of it is gone now. It was really icy and nasty for a while once it all got packed down :confused:. How 'bout you? And I agree - bet it was those blasted pushups :eek:!
 
Not much of anything in CA, got some rain last night, which of course meant icy roads this morning. But hubby had to start back up at work today, so he got to drive.

Did GS back, shoulders, biceps....arms are nice and fried. I think I'll do this series again next week. For some reason the dvd said 62 minutes, but it was only about 50, I like that much better than 62. Don't have to get up earlier. Well, much earlier.

So I'm thinking the entire west coast hasn't had a winter this year....
But in the last week, we seem to have made up for the lack of rain by quite a bit! Lots of stormy stuff recently. I will try to send some of it south. :)

Oooh boy! High Reps is a killer! No need to tell me you have to give some areas a rest after that one. I hurt all week from it so I don't do it very often. :p

I certainly wish I had more time alone! DH doesn't go out much or long enough for me, that's for sure! I'm always busier when he's home. Must be I'm cleaning up more. :mad: Every now and then I have to voice my displeasure about that....

Here's to no more ice this season for anyone!
 
Tracy - Not having time alone sucks :( :mad:! Believe it or not, it's not just men that need cleaned up after :rolleyes:.....
 
Hi all,

Well, DH has the H1N1 flu. Took him to the minute clinic on Monday and they tested for it. I'm sure I have it too. So when we got back from FL our son had been sick, not sure if he had the same thing, but thinking maybe. Plus, we could have picked it up on the plane. Trying to recover from that.

Tracy, that is awesome about the stair climbing challenge! Congratulations!

Our snow has mostly melted thanks to a several day warm up, but it's pretty cold out there again. At least no ice, just little piles of snow that aren't on the roads. Looking forward to spring for sure.

I have been doing meso 3 of STS. I just decided I wanted more heavy wt work and went with that. Was kind of nice not to have to do the other 2 mesos first, I feel like I'm giving this better attention.

Hi babes! I'm sorry I have been MIA. No reason, other than doing chores or cleaning or trying to make some jewelry. Sometimes, it doesn't turn out well and I have to start over again and again!

I'm sorry about you and your family getting the flu Melinda!!! :( I hope you are all better now!

We had a beautiful day today and I spent it recovering from a colonoscopy! But the results were good so I feel lucky. :)

Also wanted to let you babes know that Collage Video is going out of business. You may have received an email from them, I learned of it from a friend on FB. Anyhoo, I got a couple of Cathe's older dvds and they were 50% off so you might want to take a look.
