Low Carbers - August 2009

Whoo hoo, we're in August! :p:rolleyes::eek:

Okay, I'm in a very "spunky" mood. Work cwazy this week and I haven't had time to think, let alone, type anything much. Did YBB yesterday morning, Bollywood style and then MM was very mean to me, so for my afternoon workout I did Cardio Collectibles; a nice long sweaty cardio. Oh and since I just scarfed an enormous, yummy, cheese burger here at work, I think that it will be another nice sweaty cardio when I get home. Just not sure which one yet. I'm thinking Step Blast, or something like that.

I'm on vacation next week, so I will be popping in sporatically to check on y'all.

Oh my Rhea, I could use some of your wackiness - got any extra to share ;)? Hope you have an awesome vacation but please do remember to pop in and say hi now and again :).

Hi can I join in? what are the rules. I am on disk 20 on sts and live a low carb life though I'm droppn' dairy(and other lo carb legal cheats) to get the scale moving again.

I have about 15 lbs til I hit my prepregnacy weight and could use some company!

Hi Pink - feel free to join in! There are no rules - we are just friends who hang out and support each other .

Hi Pink,

No rules. I'm not even a low carber. I'm a straggler from another site that latched on to this group!

It's turned hot and muggy. Had to turn on the a/c.

We had a nice time at the fair. I can tell my strength and stamina are great because I walked around non stop for 5 hours and my legs/back didn't hurt at all.

Sat: LIS cardio + premix from 4DS of back/biceps

sunday??? I'm thinking maybe legs, maybe the standing portion of GS legs and some ab work.

Lita, where is it you live?

Rules? Us? hahahahaha....

Pink, no rules here. I'm a low carber that has not been low carb for quite a while!! Especially since I discovered peanut butter filled pretzel bites. Can't keep away from them!

I swear, this weekend, all I've managed to do is eat. And drink wine. And eat chocolate. Hmm, I think I'll go workout now!

Have a great rest of the Sunday!

And we're glad you did :D!

That's awesome!

What do you think of the upper body premixes? I was going to try them this week but was too chicken :p. I am doing the straight-forward upper body weight work from them, though. GMTA!

Lita, where is it you live?

Beautiful wild Wyoming - northwestern corner outside of Yellowstone Nat'l Park :).

!!!! Hmmm, and to think it wasn't that long ago that it was lattes (or some funky coffee drink) that was your nemesis :p.

ROFLMA off, Rhea :D!!!! At least you're consistent ;)!

thanks for welcoming me! you guys are hilarious.

rhea you cheeky thing! I eat alot of locarb junk and am trying a locarb version of eating clean. Locarb works best for me just in terms of the way I feel. Baby wieght aint budgn' though...so i am ditchen the extras and doing sts

I have noooo energy for cardio though, sts is all i can handle thus far. I am looking forward to the shock cardio and would like to add that to my next 6month rotation of sts.

Pink - One step at a time ;). I can't believe with a new baby that you would have the energy for anything !

Lattes? what Lattes? Hey at least they are non-fat milk and sugar free syrups.

I did not even go workout yesterday, I was just a slug....hard to workout when DH is hanging around all over the house. I can't wait for school to start so I can get into some sort of routine. I was going to try and drop a few for that 30th year reunion...lol, guess not.

Well, I had better get back to lazin' around on my 'cation. :p

Hi babes! And welcome Pink! I do low carb for the most part (I do feel my best then) but have let the ol' low fat sneak in too...and I do not blame you for not doing cardio with STS! That is one tough program, especially when you are dealing with the demands of a little one!

Rhea, I think were in a GMTA zone--did MM Thurs. and Step Blast the week before. And MM kicked my booty! That workout is mostly isometric stuff--not so much weight work. So really, I don't think it should have kicked my booty as much as it did! I still allow myself a full fat, sugar free latte once a week. Now, this past weekend, DH and I were out of town so you can imagine the garbage I ate! I was thrilled to get back to the workouts today!

Lita, I did LIC today for the first time in forever and it was tough! I think the only series for which I am willing to mix up the upper body work or double it up is the Blast series. Otherwise, I'm a chicken too. :D

Melinda, I'm glad you enjoyed the fair! Our state fair doesn't occur until mid September. We're not too humid here as a rule, but today we were in the 60s with drizzle and the a/c was going in the car for sure! Have you been to Yellowstone Melinda? It is to die for!

Later babes!

Just posted so I can request an email notification when you babes post your witty, wry, and inspiring posts. :) (I forget I have to do that with each new thread!)

Rhea - I just remember it was something ;). But I do love your consistency :D! I think maybe you better tell DH to go hiking or something - it'll do you both good! (Notice, that's to "go hiking" and NOT "take a hike" :p )!

Tracy - Glad to see you back :D! Oh man - I tried to double up BM2 upper once (figuring because it was so short, ya know....) and like to killed myself !

Lita, you are too funny! I think telling DH to take a hike is A-OK! :p

You know, I was drinking wine the last time I posted, and I made a booboo about MM! I know this is so 2 days ago, but I was really referring to HSC! I haven't had any wine this evening. :D

I will remember not to try BM2 times 2 for an upper body workout Lita! Heck, the biceps with the band and barbell gave me DOMS bad yesterday and I'm afraid how I'm going to feel tomorrow after ME today. Goodness! My legs were a shaking bad! I must be outa shape.

Did anyone get a request from Tracie Long to complete a survey about new workouts? I filled mine out. She seems to have a new website too.

Later babes!

Tracy, no I haven't been to YellowStone park before. I am actually traveling to Salt Lake City next week for work and was wondering where Lita lived. But I guess that's too far away from her. And when I drink wine I tend to want to cut my hair and have been know to start trimming it. Is that crazy or what?!

Lita, I did the 4DS premix for upper body, at least just the 25 and 35 min premix and they're not bad at all.

Rhea, my husband has been home since Mar 31st and I know what you mean! Now with the kids home during the summer and me working from my home office, it can get crazy at times!

Pink, how old is your baby? I found that when I did STS, all I wanted to do was walk for cardio.

Started Meso 3 on Monday and did chest/back. Wed I walked and today (Thur) I want to do the leg workout for this week, which is plyo work.

Tracy - Are you re-doing STS :)? I want to but need to wait until my legs can take the work. As you well know, "some days are harder than others" so I think that's the reason for the shaky legs ;). Speaking of TL, no, haven't heard anything. But she's almost as bad as AB for "reinventing" herself .

Melinda - YNP is beautiful but I will admit that after living here 18 years, I've still never been more than 1/3 of the way into it . Now if I could just be a "tourist" and not have to work, I'd have seen it all long ago :p! I just got a job too quickly after I moved here.

Pink and Rhea, how ya doing :)??????

hi reah I drink a full fat latte every day....it is a must have for me!!!

melinda my baby is 4mo but i have a 2 year old and a 6 year old

I know what you guys mean having DH around the house makes it hard for me work out...even harder than when the kids are around
