Low Carbers and Friends - 3rd quarter 2015

Lita, I am so sorry about Dix!!! :(:( But it sounds like she waited until you were on vacation to have these health issues. That was very kind of her! I hope she is doing much better now!

Melinda, go with your gut. If the job doesn't feel right to you, it isn't. We get job listings at work for different divisions and I know which ones I will never apply to. It's not stupid to pass up an opportunity, it's self preservation! :)

Lita, I hope there isn't too much work piled up when you return to work!

Well, it's taken me 2 months to do a one month rotation and I still haven't done the last week of it, hee hee! Shooting for next week to finish up RWH/XT. :D

Thanks, Tracy :). Thank God she is doing *much* better now . I'm sure it will be piled up but that's okay - job security, you know :p. I might not do what I said for next week - I *might* only do 4 days. I really need to get to work super early Mon so I can at least catch up the 4 checking accounts before I have people under foot robbing me of what little powers of concentration I have ....

Hi fit babes! I'm glad Dix is doing much better Lita! And you are too funny! I hope you are caught up at work now! :D
'Tis the season for busy-ness and I'm looking forward to next week when it will be less so for me. :p
Finally finished up the RWH/XT this past week and the upper body workouts did me in as usual! The workouts will be scarce this week but at least I know in advance! I get a little cranky when I plan a workout and at the last minute can't do it. :(
Tons of rain here, and some flooding. I was hoping CA was going to get it all! We are getting a snow pack this year however, unlike last year. DH and I are a bit tired of the rain already though. We've only had 2 days in December without it!
Enjoy the holidays dear friends!

Tracy - That's a lot of rain :(! I'm getting snow - wanna swap ;)? I know you wanted CA to get it all but the minute they get it they have landslides so .... (Maybe that will bring Rhea out of hiding, lol!) I agree that it's better to know you're going to miss some workouts than to plan them and then have something interfere! That has always made me crazy - but that doesn't take much, either :p... I always think I'm losing strength when I do LI but I gotta tell you, after 6 weeks of XT and 4 weeks of RWH, when I did LI TBT upper last week (the day after CSS), I was sore all over for days !!!! Actually, I was sore all week long! Today I'm doing the even harder ones (IMHO) - Afterburn, Ath Training, Super Cuts, CSS and either Tab or S&G. I'm having performance anxiety already :D!

Melinda and Rhea - hope you're both okay :)!

Doing just wonderful here! Gots TONS of snow this weekend. Had my deputy stay the night with me last night since she was coming from Sac....told her she had to....she was not going to drive over that mountain with a Saturn and having to chain up. So we'll be heading back to my house around 11:30 this morning so she can get her car. I think the chain controls will be lifted by then. The roads were nice and ice packed snow. Cold, but there were already spots on the road that were showing through. Enough cars go through and the snow plows get it all up. Plus, maybe the sun, if it can, melt a little. But I do get to go home early....hehehe

I've not been working out much, too much other things to get going. I did get the new Hammer and Chisel workouts from beach body to start at the beginning of the year. I was attracted to it because of the length of the workouts. I think I'll even do the nutrition portion. Tracy - it's the 21 day fix containers---Autumn is the Chisel part of the workout.

Glad to hear that Dix is doing much better Lita. Sorry about the snow. Maybe it will warm up?

Send that moisture here Tracy.....we still need lots.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Rhea - Welcome back :D!!!! Hope your roads are cleared up soon - winter travel is not a hoot.... We're only to be in the teens/low 20s for 3 or 4 days before we warm up so it won't be bad at all. Especially if the winds stay calm...

Thanks, Lita. I am now 50. We celebrated with going to lunch with DH, then went to the new Star Wars movie with my 2 boys, then had cake that my youngest son made. It was a nice day. I also got notice that the new ICE series was shipped out, so I'm hoping to get it before Christmas and give one of the workouts a try.

So we are having mild weather, yea! Sorry that you all are getting so much rain and snow. Last year was horrible for us, it seemed to be 6 months of winter. I think it's suppose to be around 60 for Christmas, no complaints here!

I know you are all commenting on the LI workouts, I feel the same way about Afterburn, just can't seem to do the whole thing without feeling wiped out. In fact, I have stopped using wts with it and still have issues. But on another note, I have noticed that I can do Tabata and other interval workouts much better since joining the gym and doing the heavier leg work. I've noticed my heart really pounding when I'm doing some of the heavier wts there, so not sure if Tabata is easier because my legs are stronger, my heart got stronger or both.

Have a great week and if I don't make it back before Christmas, I hope you all have a Merry one! I may pop in if I get this series so I can comment, however. If anyone else gets it, please let us know what you think!

Has anyone got the ICE series yet? I got it today and did the upper body workout, 41 min long. It was unique with some of the moves, I liked not a ton of reps. This is the only workout I've done so far, this was not a difficult workout, but still good. I noticed that you can do 5 different upper body wt work that is add on stuff on the dvds, basically having each of the upper body parts getting probably a heavier workout. I didn't really investigate, I think I just want to do the workouts on their own first before going to all the extra stuff

Happy belated birthday Melinda! Sounds like you had a great day.

I got the new series but haven't even opened it yet. Next week maybe.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Hi sweet babes! Happy Holidays to you!

Happy belated birthday Melinda! I'm glad you had a great day!! I think you are the baby of our group here. :D

Rhea, I got Hammer and Chisel too! I'm hoping to start it in Jan. but it will depend on whether I can get them previewed before I do them. I also have to go out of town for a couple of days for work the fist week of the year and that'll put a small monkey wrench into my plans right at the start! :(

I got the ICE series yesterday! Opened it today but haven't done any of the workouts yet. I downloaded the guide and Cathe made rotations with ICE and the last 3 series we all know and love so that's awesome! She also has ICE rotations in it for levels 1, 2 and 3. Haven't looked at them in detail yet to see what the differences are.

Sounds like you are getting a much deserved weather break so far this year Melinda! I keep waiting for the rain to stop for just one full day and it's just not happening! Our mountains are getting a ton of snow which is good because we didn't get it last year, but the pass between Seattle and eastern WA has been closed for 2 days now and that's unusual! I feel bad for everyone who needs to travel to see loved ones that way. And I'm trying to send the rain south, I really am!

I hope those winds stay very calm for you Lita!

Talk to you soon fit babes!

Tracy, I will have to find that user's guide for ICE and also the rotations, I think for me, that might be a better way to go. I did the low impact cardio workout. I did get sweaty, but the workout is doable, not overwhelming. I think these might be good to mix with the harder series to have those less intense days.

Happy Holidays!

Hope you all had a good Christmas.

I did another ICE workout, this time not a whole one, but the extra stuff all put together. I got the low impact workout so I could do the heavier back add on. This is how I ordered it. Warm up, blizzard blast, back, core 2 and stretch. I think I could just do one body part a day before work, it is short and I liked the pace, you can go a little heavier. I'm slowly figuring this series out.
