Lately I've been experiences lower back pain. Especially when I get up in the morning. My belly is growing so I"m sure my back is straining (seems pretty early to me though). Any advice on how to make it more comfortable? I have my next appt on Friday so I'll bring this up then.

Thanks!

You might want to check out one of the support belts they sell for pregnant women. I believe it would help your back because it helps to support the weight of the growing belly therefore lessening the strain on your back. I believe they sell them at babycenter.com

Oh no Wendy. Say it ain't so - I can't wear one of those. LOL I know it should be all about comfort but dang I don't want to look like a dork. Do they go under your shirt?

If it doesn't get any better I'll check it out.

LOL Dana, you are funny! :)

I don't really know if they are meant to be worn under or over clothing...sorry.

Hi Dana -
The pillow between the legs idea is a good one. It didn't always work for me but I did it anyway because it did become more comfortable as my belly grew. Also, I would stretch my back on all fours, like a cat stretch (tailbone down, head down). If you know yoga, it's cat/cow but don't do cow (which is tailbone up, chin up) when your pregnant!! Do cat then come back to neutral spine. Another one that helped me was laying on one side (left, usually) and doing hip tilts. Try doing stretches everyday to avoid it possibly getting worse. If I get pregnant again I'm going to do these things everyday even if there is no pain! I waited too long last time. Hope this is helpful.

You also may want to take up a pregnancy yoga and do some stretching. That will really help loosen up those legiments to ease your pain. I don't know what else your body is doing, but I went from a B to a DD in just 4 weeks, and if this is the case with you too, a great supportive bra will do wonders for you!
