Loving CTX!

I just received my CTX series last week, and started my rotation on Monday. I absolutely LOVE the variety, sequencing and intensity of these tapes! And I'm only half way through them! I wanted to ask a couple of questions to those of you who have experimented with different variations of mixing and matching them. Do any of you double up on the upper body strength training on one day to be able to have a day of muscle recovery the next day? It seems as if my arms are really hurting right now, and that more than just the focused upper body muscle is getting worked, i.e. when doing chest flyes, I'm using those biceps a little too, and I just did them yesterday. I'm thinking that with a little time, my muscles will become accustomed to this, but right now I'm going to definitely need a day's rest in between sets.

Also, since I'm very new to Cathe tapes and have not yet attempted one of her tapes that is more choreographically challenging (as far as step tapes, I've only done Wedding Tape, Mega Step Blast, Step Heat although I have more of her step tapes, I've only done these), I'm finding that I have to rewind the tape at least 3 or 4 times during segments so I can get that footwork down somewhat. Is this what everyone does when learning, or do you just go through it and learn a little more each time you do the tape? I never thought I would be someone who would enjoy more difficult choreography, but I am one now!

I just can't say enough good things about CTX, and I'm really psyched because the time just flies when I'm working out with these tapes, I almost feel like I'm cheating because I don't feel like I'm working at all!

I always forget how much I love this rotation. Im on CTX this week and absolutely LOVE it! They really do go by fast, yet I still feel like Ive REALLY done an intense workout. I love the core work, actually I hate the core work but the results are unbelievable, I feel SO strong, and each time I do them I get a little bit better and can go a little longer. And CAthe, well she is just so cute!! She keeps me motivated and entertained, her strength never ceases to amaze me!! Judy

Hi Kristina36,
I agree with you completely on CTX.

To answer your question about upper body work... Yes, I have done two u b parts on one day. I usually add back to chest and bi's to tri's. I never quite know what do do with shoulders. I've added it on to each of the other groups and done it alone. Leaner Legs wears me out to much to add anything to it.

I have ctx on dvd and the dvd has an upperbody compilation where you do all of the ub in one workout. Some stuff isn't there, like the lower back work (supermans? is it) I really like this grouping. The order they are presented in is back, chest, shoulders, tris, bis. I admit that by the time I get to the bi's I'm pretty cooked and can't go quite as heavy as when I do bi's alone. I also found that when I am doing one part per day, if I do the tapes in the order of the ub workout I don't have as much of the carryover fatigue.

About learning the step routines, I do a lot of rewinding. When I start to get to frustrated, I quit. This has worked pretty well for me. I just know that when I am learning something new I probably won't get a complete "work out" for that session and I plan around it.

Have fun with your rotation!
