love handles

Help!

I need advise on what kind of Cathe workout will work on my love handles.

I have prety good upper and lower body, its just my torso that has put on the pounds ....and spare tire!

Does step exercises actually work on the mid-section? specifically belly and love handles?

Hi Heather, welcome to the forums. While you can't spot reduce fat, the only way to get rid of love handles is to do cardio and eat clean. Also, work your core (including oblique muscles) to tone the area.

I don't know how much step works your core. I guess if you concientiously turn on your abs, then yes. But I have enough trouble focusing on breathing :) lol

Cardio will burn calories, weight training (especially of the large muscle groups) will build muscle which burns more calories, burning more calories than you take in (and watching your diet) will help reduce weight, and core work will help strengthen the area (but as others have said, there is no way to "spot reduce," even though some commercials will lead you to believe so: if you look at the small print, any ab gadget or gizmo achieves its results when used in conjunction with a diet and exercise program.)
