"Dude, that was messed up. He like....exploded. In front of us."

I love Hurley - he cracks me up.

WHAT A GREAT SHOW!!! So many unanswered questions for next season! It's going to keep everyone guessing and theorizing all summer....

My bf said before the show even started, "I hope nothing happens to Walt!!" That was awful - I felt sick for his dad. I'm glad they at least got Claire's baby back. And what is up with CHARLIE lifting that heroin from the wrecked plane?!? We were so disappointed in him......

However will be fill up our Wednesday nights until September?!? :p :p

Angie :)

And what is up
>with CHARLIE lifting that heroin from the wrecked plane?!?

Did he actually take it? I missed the part between when he was looking down at the broken statue, and when he was injured (how?).

Actually, the heroin might have some kind of medicinal purpose. I'm surprised the doctor didn't grab some to use for some reason.

I thought the dialogue between Hurly and the now-blown-up teacher was great. The teacher brought up all the inconsistencies that the viewers could pick up on (Hurley and others never losing weight, the show focusing on only 5 or 6 characters, when there are 40 people on the island! Priceless.

Though something odd. My TV guide, which gives a few spoilers for next season, says that the chemistry teacher will be back. I don't see any chance for that, except in flashbacks!

I was thinking that Walt could make the Polar Bear appear, or something, to save himself. Who could those menacing people on the boat be? They looked almost like pirates. And why would they want the boy? Very strange.

I HATE having to wait a whole summer to see what happens next!

Kathryn - they never actually showed Charlie take a statue after Sayid showed it what was inside, but at the end of the show when Claire and her baby were reunited, the camera went to Charlie's bag where a statue was tucked inside.

When Sayid and Charlie went after the French lady, Charlie saw a bundle under a tree and thought it was the baby. When he went to pick it up, it triggered a bunch of rocks or coconuts or something to fall out of the tree and bonk him pretty badly on the head. He was bleeding so badly and refused to go back, so Sayid poured some gunpowder in the wound and set it on fire to stop the bleeding. Some soldier first-aid trick or something....

It was interesting to see how the characters initially interacted with each other before the plane crashed. Hurley giving Walt the thumb's up, etc. At one point, when Walt's dad was on the phone at the airport, you could briefly see John Locke being pushed in his wheelchair right past him.

Whatever that thing was that almost dragged Locke into the ground was really weird, too. He had the look of terror looking up at it. They never addressed that, either.....

Adding on to the Charlie thing: a) he's is a long-time addict and has only been on the island a month, so it's not inconceivable he would pick the heroin up, but, more imporantatly b) you never see him take the heroin, you do see the statue in his bag, but you never actually even see the whole statue, only the top. He could have picked up just the top half of the shattered statue. This was a good episode and there is a lot to look forward to. I new Walt was doomed when they got the baby back and the french woman (who's name escapes me right now) said The Others said they wanted "the boy." I immediately was like THE BOY, NOT THE BABY - they're going after Walt. I hope they don't kill off Sawyer - he's so lovely to look at, it would be shame to lose him.

I like to look at Sawyer too. I don't know what I will do on Wed. nights either. I'm not big on repeats. Melissa

Yeah, I told me son last night that this is the last time that I will sit down and watch any shows for the next 3 months so he had to just get through that one night. I too knew that Walt was in trouble when the Franch lady said that about the voices. Dh had tears in his eys when that part was over. What about the hatch? And Jacks comment to girl (What's her name again? Not the French girl, the other brunette.) about Locke becoming a problem after the hatch was blown?! There is so much that has yet to go on here, I now have to get through the summer and not think about that show.

Kathy

What if....

The scary people that took little Walt are "the others" on the island who seem to have an interest in children. The scary people seemed unfazed by the plane crash story - like maybe they knew who they were.

And what about Sawyer? He got shot right? Will he be back? (Hope so!)

And what are they going to do in the middle of the ocean with no more boat?

And...what if the scary smokey black thing that tried to take Locke down the hole is part of some underground society of "others" which is also accessbile through the hatch?

And what does the comic book Hurley was reading on the plane, that Walt later read and noticed the polar bear have to do with all this??

I think it's going to be a looonnnngggg summer.... I haven't been this hooked on a tv show since Ally McBeal.

I loved LOST too! My nights will definitely be very boring with no new shows until the new season starts back up.

I particularly liked learning where Hurley's "bad" numbers came from. What about all of those obstacles he had to overcome to catch his flight? I bet he isn't supposed to be there on the island. What do you all think about Locke disregarding Hurley's warning to not open the hatch and detenated the explosives anyway?

I've just finished watching it and really enjoyed it. I still can't make up my mind whether I am more curious or disappointed with what was in the hatch.

Lost reminds me of Riverworld and I'd like to know what Philip Jose Farmer thinks of it. I wonder if any of them are actually alive? As Locke said, don't you think it's unusual that so many of them survived with minimal wounds?

Kathryn, I'd love to hear any you have any spoilers you may have. I did read that Greg (can't remember his name, chap from Alias who played the Co-Pilot in Lost) was supposed to be in the finale but I didn't spot him anywhere.

There were just a few in TV guide, and it already looks like one was wrong. They were: All cast members may not return next year (that's not really revealing much, nor is it very definite!); the HS physics teacher will be back next year (he's all blowed up, so it must be in a flashback); and we will get to know more of the survivors from the crash.

I bet we could find some other stuff if we looked for "Lost spoilers" on the internet!

What's with Rousseau and the voices? I kind of missed that part.

Yes, what would "the others" want the boy for? Because they're all men, trapped on the island, and they can't reproduce, so they're forming their own pirate society?

Joni: About the comic book, don't you remember earlier on in the season, when Walt found the comic book and started reading? Then in one episode, it almost seemed like he made the polar bear come to life? I still don't know what that's about.

And the smoke from the creature being dynamited: it did seem to form a strange shape, but was it the creature itself?

I might have to rent the DVD to try and catch everything I missed! I only vaguely remember Walt reading the comic book, and at the time it didn't seem like a big deal - but someone also mentioned that the hatch was also in the comic book, so now I'm intrigued. I'm also a total "Lost" geek now - take a look at this:

I think the DVD is coming out very soon. I seem to remember seeing an add for it already. I bet they'll be a lot of Easter eggs on it!

WOW!! What a great site this is! I just registered looking for some more info on Cathe's fantastic workouts, and now I find a "Lost" forum as well!! Weeeeee, what fun!

The Lost DVDs will come in September, BTW, you can preorder at Amazon.

I have a forum on the website I run with my BF that I should be participating in more regularly, but I'm in this forum WAY more often!

Oh, Sparrow, thanks for the information! My birthday is in September so this will be a great birthday present for myself!!! :p

Angie

Angie I like your thinking! I've already preordered it and cleared out a space for it next to the Party of 5 DVDs...it's the "Matthew Fox" wing of my DVD collection :)
