looking for partners in crime- walking 26.2

Hey Everyone!!

Team Prevention (Prevention magazine) has training for walking 1/2 or entire marathons. This year, the Flying Pig marathon in Cincinnati on 5/3/09 is one of their races.

Is anyone interested..........I think I am going to go for the 26.2. I am an avid walker, have walked many 5k's, but that has been my limit.

Hey, Joanna -- definitely go for it!!! I walked the Portland Marathon with my mother in 2005; she got the idea from Prevention magazine. It was a great experience. I had run a marathon before that, and it's definitely a different psychology to walk for that long. I'm sure Prevention has some great training plans online; I think we used one for our training. Once you get past the initial rounds of blisters, you'll be set. My favorite lubricant for blister & chafing prevention is Sportslick -- I order it directly from www.sportslick.com. Good luck!
