Looking for friends in New Jersey.

Hello folks.

I love it here on these boards. It's cool. So far I enjoyed my week on here, and I thank you for your friendships.

Now I am willing to meet people on here in New Jersey.

I love meeting new friends in person.

If anybody is interested, contact me.

Thank you so much and always know that I care about each and every one of you.

Take care.

I certainly cannot speak for everyone, but most of us here do not meet up with other posters unless we've been talking to them for a while and even then we tend to be very leery about it. In this day and age, no one can be too cautious especially when meeting people over the internet. There are a group of local New Jersey/PA/NY forum members though who get together and attend Cathe classes at her gym on a fairly regular basis. They call themselves the Tri-Staters and they often post on the forum when they plan to meet. Perhaps that would be a good way for you to meet some people on the forum and make some local "Cathe" friends? :)

Here's some of their old threads just to give you an idea of what they do:

ITA Liann. There is no way I would just meet up with someone from here. It's just not a safe thing to do. As much as wel like to think all are good in our world, there are those who are not and I don't take chances like that. I like your suggestion for the Tri-Staters!

Chris,

On the one hand, it's nice to want to add friends in your life. On the other hand, jumping in blindly to an open message board and announcing how you care for and love everyone is way over the top..

I'm here for fitness info, and a place to chat with like minded people over my morning coffee. I've built my friends over years of getting to know them in all areas, not just what exercise DVD's they prefer.

It's your life, and I'm not judging you, but do be careful.

Lobo, thank you for your warning.

You reminded me about some people I met online that I got scammed and ripped off by.

I tried to put this nasty experience past me, but it still catches up to me even now.

I did meet one person online that is a good friend of mine now for a while, but he is the
only one. But we must be very careful about who we might come across online, as to prevent an experience like mine from happening in our lives.

I will be very careful from now on.

Sorry if I bothered or offended everybody else.

I am still here to help.

This post that started it all was coming from a person who had trouble making friends all his life. And it's true.

I like the fitness knowledge and more.

Thank you for your support and god bless you all.

Hi Chris! Welcome! Home you find lots of new firends here! It's a great place and how lucky that you live in Jersey! Maybe you can make a Roadtrip one year! Nice to "meet" you!

Chris...

Are you aware of the old saying..."fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me"? Well, I just went through the shame on me stage of that saying, by trying to make friends with people I've met over the internet.

I'm tired of trying to be something I'm not just to "fit in"..I've reconnected with friends that I've alienated over the years to fit my new lifestyle, and I'm part of a group again that I belong with.

When I joined Cathe's forums, all I wanted was to tell of how exercise..more specifically, exercise with Cathe, has improved the quality of my life..I've done that, it's time to start focusing on me a little more, and not so much everyone else.

Hi Debbie. Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I found a great few friends here already, can you believe it.

Jersey is a very nice place, though I'm planning to move elsewhere here, near the ocean on the Jersey Shore more south of the state. There will be even nicer.

I would love to make a Roadtrip one year with you folks. You got it!

It is my absolute pleasure meeting you Debbie my lifelong friend.

Bear93. I'm so sorry for your unpleasant experience with some people and the internet. I too went through the alienation process with my ex-friends and it is hard for me. Some of them I don't care to be friends with anymore ever again, but you never know.

It is important to focus on yourself I agree. I do not know what it is or was with me, but other people always came first and myself second, and I cared about other people's opinions, that was my prorities and values, but I don't know.

Well you take care Debbie and Bear and I always love hearing from you.

Warmly yours,
Chris
