Looking for a change...

...thinking about ordering some jari love dvds to switch things up for awhile. Don't get me wrong, I love Cathe but I need a break. I'm not too familiar with jari so I need some advice on which ones to get. I've viewed some clips and the ripped ones look interesting. How does she compare with Cathe? The clips I have seen seem less energetic. Anyways, any opinions are appreciated.:D

you will get a lot of opinions on jari love on this website. for me, the workouts are good but i can't get past her, the backround on the workouts, and the music in the backround. For this reason i don't do her workouts often. I don't have the newest workout "extremely ripped" but i haven't seen too many positive reviews on it from the others on this forum. I tend to be biased to Cathe but have been trying a lighter weight/high rep rotation myself. Currently I'm doing the slim series by beachbody however, i get bored with it when i have to do it for a whole hour so i have been splitting the workouts in half and doing 30 min one day and the other 30 min the next and so on for the week. With slim series the whole concept is to train with light weights everyday the same muscle group to overtrain the muscle so it won't grow but will tone and firm the area. So far i like doing these like this. I also like the squeeze by tracey effinger and i'm currently waiting for my physique 57 workouts in the mail. I hope this helps some. Everyone is different in what they like but i feel like most of us have been spoiled by cathe and its hard to switch to another instructor without being critical LOL.

thanks for your input kariev.. I know what you mean about "getting past her". I don't know if its her voice, her tone or what but she seems so blah, like she isnt having any fun. Maybe I'll get one and see how it goes. Thanks again.

My first foray into weights was Jari's DVDs. I loved Slim & Lean and Get Ripped 1000. But be prepared to do 5 million reps and low weights!!! It is muscle endurance for sure. I have issues with her form. For an instructor, it is often terrible.

My results were so much better using Cathe's workouts. I am totally biased now! But change might be a good thing. Can you netflix them and at least try them out?

Hmmm..

I have jari's get ripped to the core.. and I do like it.. but not as much as Cathe. However, it is good for a change. If you don't look at Jari, the workouts are wondeful! It just puts me off, because she doesn't look healthy! Her muscle has a completely different errm... auro to Cathe's muscle, that actually makes her look ill. In my opinion. Having said that, I do think that the workout it great for muscle endurance. I have found it does not improve my strength at all, but I like to use it on a cardio day even though it's a weights workout, as it seems to be a major calorie burn. I debated for ages over which dvd of hers to try, and i chose ripped to the core because of all the compound moves. If you're looking for a good total body workout, I would go for this one, as I believe it has more compound moves than the other dvds, and therefore keeps your heart rate elevated.

However, Cathe's still the best! Amy Bento's slo mo and all pump xtreme are also very good, and although these are slow and heavy, I find them much better than Jari.
