Long & Lean

Please advise as what is the best way to get lean. I am about 5'10 and want to be lean and muscular. I am not looking to build too much muscle. I have most of Cathe's workouts and have been using the pyramid for the past four weeks. I plan on keeping my weights light with the pyramid series. What would be a good plan of action of achieve this goal. I particulary need to lean out my lower half.

Any advice.

Thanks.

Hi Kimmy! Not Cathe but if you have ME why not give it a try because it really shouldn't build too much muscle as it is light weights more reps and the leg work is awsome. Also another good leg work would be Leaner Legs.

P.S. I saw your profile that your from NJ as I am from NJ too!! Im just wondering if your close by me. I am from New Providence. The reason I ask is because your name and your height to me sounds like someone I worked with.

Hi! I am 6'0" and weigh 165lbs. I thought I looked my best when I weighed 175lbs. I was lifting heavy at the time and was totally firm. When you lift seriously, you will gain weight. However, you are not "gaining weight"...instead you are replacing fat with muscle - which makes you leaner! You don't have to lift heavy, however, to lean up. Lighter weights and more reps will do the trick. I have found, though, that you have to do some kind of aerobics while lifting. And try lifting 3 days a week, making sure you hit all body parts and don't over do. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I will try it along with mixing in some heavy weights from time to time to shake things out.

I am 5'10.5" and weigh 150 lbs. I am doing Cathe's Circuit Workouts (4 x/week) with heavy weight training (Cathe) and a pure cardio (Cathe) a week. I have a lot of lean mass. I eat normal but healthy, cut most of the junk out and average at 2500 kcal/day.

If you want to loose only 10 lbs be aware that nobody but yourself probably will notice any difference and then decide if it's worth the efford. 10 lbs is not even a dress size for me.

In winter it's easier for me to go down to 140 lbs (being less active curbs my appetite) but in summer it's nearly impossible for me to feel satisfied with only 2000 kcal/day. I have a cut bikini body in winter but feel happier in summer - go figure.

Let's hear for us tall girls!

Hi folks,

This is such a great thread. I rarely post because I feel like everyone must be petite and muscular. I am not as lean as I want, but I have a lot of trouble getting any muscle definition. I am 5'9" and weigh about 150-155 (I rarely weigh myself, just try to eat clean and keep fitting my clothes ;) !!).

Anyway, my thought is if you eat clean and exercise regularly, as a tall girl you will be lean (or others will see you as lean). One of my friends and I call each other "big girl" because we can hardly compete with our petite girlfriends. Nice to know that others out there are tall/big like me!

RE: Let's hear for us tall girls!

You are right, most people will not notice it and they question why I would want to lose weight anyway...being tall does have it's advantages. In any case, I am holding on to a little weight in the hip/thigh area and want to lean out. I do not want to build any signifcant amount of muscle. I am currently doing a pyramid rotation and am wondering if PLB will make me bulky.
