Lomax, do you consider it a leg workout?

Personally, I don't do the whole thing all the way through. I do the step part alone, and would do the blasts along with some other leg work.

I'm not much on mish-moshes, but just some quick thinking brought this to mind:

The power circuit from BodyMax followed by the blasts from LoMax, ending with the leg drills from KickMax.

I'm sure someone must have come up with this one before - I'm not very original.

If you want to do LowMax and leg work all together - for a wonderful (and killer, I'll admit) circuit workout, do Pinky's (Hippahips) version of Low Max:

LM warm-up
LM cycle 1
squats, 20 reps, 45 lbs.
plie squats, 20 reps, 45 lbs.
LM cycle 2
squats, 20 reps, 45 lbs.
plie squats, 20 reps, 45 lbs.
LM cycle 3
leg presses, first set with 8-lb. db's, 16 reps each leg
leg presses, 2nd set with 10's, 16 reps each leg
LM cycle 4
two sets of static lunges, 45 lbs., 16 reps each leg
LM cycle 5
leg presses, first set with 8-lb. db's, 16 reps each leg
leg presses, 2nd set with 10's, 16 reps each leg
LM cycle 6
two sets of static lunges, 40 lbs., 16 reps each leg
LM cycle 7
LM cool down

If you can walk the next day, I'm impressed!!

Pinky's version sounds like a great workout, which I would definitely consider a leg workout! :)

But normally, I do LoMax as a cardio only. I don't do it the same day as a leg workout, but I would do legs (like PS or GS Legs) the day before or after LowMax.

I count Lomax as cardio. I have done leg days on the same day as Lomax, but if I'm just not into giving it my all, then I keep the barbell at 45lbs.

Pinky's version sounds wonderful. I'm going to have to try that version.

Actually, Pinky's version is not as tough as it sounds. The cardio workouts out the lactic acid so by the next blast, you're ready for it. I find my legs hurt less when I do it this way. And it's just plain fun!

Christine, if you want it tough, take out the cardio. Do just the blasts followed by the leg work. Cuts the workout time, too. If you want it even harder, go heavier on the weights. As always, how heavy depends on how much your body can take.

Forgot to answer the original question...

Jenn, I consider LowMax to be a leg workout. Lately I've been doing only the blast premix and add on another segment from another workout, like LM blast premix + GSL floor work, or CTX-power circuits (warm-up and circuits only) + LM blasts.

I like Honeybunch's idea. I'll try that soon. :)

I consider it a light leg workout. It definitely works the legs, but I wouldn't consider it a complete leg workout.
