Limecat's Monday Poser

I wouldn't miss corned beef and cabbage (blech!) and yes, I am full blooded Irish
I could not do without shrimp, haddock, or tea with cream and "Sugar in the Raw" or as my SO likes to say "Sugar in the Nude" (his mind of often in the gutter)}(

Michele- I think we might be related; I have several aunts and my late Mom who were very much like your dear Nona.

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

I would let the chef choose everything, as long as it's fattening and the dessert has chocolate, mainly because there is so much food out there that I haven't tried!!!

Could live w/o: sourkraut
Couln't live w/0: two :) chocolate and coffee

Will give away not eating at fine dinning restaurants, but here it goes anyway. Know, I truly do not eat this way. WARNING: This is not for vegans eyes.

Appetizer; would be stuffed mushrooms with a mixture of parmasian basil and chicken. (I made that one up, it sounds heavenly to me.)

Main Course; baked chicken breast coated with cornflakes.

Dessert; Chocolate peanut butter mouse, perhaps in a dark and white chocolate swirl container of sorts, with a whipped cream on top and raspberries on top of that. (I made that one up too.)

Wouldn't miss escargo.

Rather die than do without would be coffee.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Great questions,

Appetizer Crab Bisque

Main course it would have to be something with pasta, pesto, and shrimp.

and dessert tart with chocolate filling with a berry fruity topping

wouldn't miss - liver, definitely, liver.

Rather die than do without: spring greens with delectable blue cheese dressing I love :p stinky cheeses!

Sheesh, I should know better than to read these food threads. I am now officially starving!

Appetizer: endive with cream cheese
Main course: I'm eating with Michele, and bring me extra bread
Dessert: Cheesecake with fresh cherries and a cappucino on the side

Food I can't live without: BREAD - I am a carb junkie

Food I could toss without a second thought: seafood (any kind - blech)

Marie

Shel, you DO come up with some good ones! :)

Dinner of my dreams:
*Appetizer: a small, flavorful, intense salad with mixed greens, sliced pears, dried cherries, roasted walnuts, goat cheese and a balsamic dressing that's so good I couldn't possibly reproduce it at home.

*Main course: Salmon or sea bass perfectly seared and delicately cooked, in a reduction sauce of something amazing (lots of choices there!) This is served on a big pile of garlic-infused skins-left-on perfectly hand-mashed potatoes, with roasted fresh baby veggies on the side (carrots, asparagus, zucchini, etc.)

*Dessert: Pumpkin cheesecake on a crushed pecan crust with a creme brulee-style torched-sugar crust

Man, I'm starving now!!

Name one food that you wouldn't miss if you couldn't ever have it again: Any kind of pork (not for religious reasons, it'd just be an easy food to give up!)

Name one food that you would rather die than do without: Popcorn! :)

I would rather die than do without my Dunkin Doughnuts coffee with extra cream.

The one food I would never miss would be meats. BTW, I'm not a vegetarian even if my doctor thinks I am.

Would it be terrible of me to not know who Chef Antoine is? He could cook my fav. meal for me though. :) My favorite meal that I cook is mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat and cheese as the appetizer; orange roughy stuffed with crabmeat, topped with guyere cheese, baked in a rich white sauce and served over steamed rice; and chocolate swirled cheesecake using my grandmother's recipe which calls for 5 eggs and 3 pkgs of cream cheese. Yum!

I should mention that my "soulfood" is a spicy chicken salad Thai dish. Not exactly a meal though.

Kathy S: YUM!! :9 :9 :9 Oh my, how I love goat cheese in salad with pears and balsamic vinegrette dressing!
Nancy

Kathy, I had that salad over the weekend, only instead of pears they used sliced apples. It was heavenly:9

The meal: Fresh spring rolls (aka salad rolls) with peanut sauce, and a main course of green curry with tofu or tempeh.

I would never once miss cheesecake or doughnuts.

I couldn't live without fresh-off-the-vine-at-the-height-of-summer tomatoes!

French onion soup with a red wine I LOVE (have been trying to even LIKE red wine for years, to no avail)

I would NOT miss chocolate!!

I would rather die than have Frito discontinue buffalo ranch doritos!!!

MJ in MN

It wouldn't be terrible of you to not know who Chef Antoine is, since I made him up:p

I think I changed my mind and I'm eating with Kathy.

I'm also changing my mind and having dinner with Kathy S. and Shelley. :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9 :9
