^^ Let's MELT! It's Wednesday!^^

Morning all!

Well, this morning hasn't been stellar so far. My alarm went off at its usual unGodly hour, and when I tried to get up out of bed, I had such pain in my left hip area that I had to kind of roll off the bed. So I took the dogs out, figuring it would loosen up. Came back and started working out, did LIS abs and could barely lie down on the floor. My plan was to do HIS cardio and then Segment 1 of Tracey's Step Sweatfest. Got through HIS cardio though I didn't do a very good job. Started on the Tracey and twisted my ankle, so I just gave up at that point!

I hope everyone else's morning is better!

Hi, I'm back,

Shelly:
I think your body is telling you it is time for a rest! I know you had said before that you had worked out something like 14 days in a row...that can;t be good, especially with the intensity level that you do. Maybe take 2 or 3 days and do NOTHING? I don't want to see you so hurt that you need to see a DR, or worse, surgery.

Robin:
It sounds like your knee is really coming around and almost back to normal. How did it go at the dentist?

Jennifer:
What do you do that let's you go to a home show as part of work? sounds like fun:)

Shannon:
Too bad about how you felt about Imax 3..I know when I start a workout that is not "happening" for me, I get really frustrated. At least you stayed with it on the eliptical. I hope the new mouse helps.

Lainie:
Both kids sick...you poor thing, I hope they are better soon so you can get some rest.

Tneah:
It could be all the excercise that is making Aunt Flo stay away! There is a condition for that but I can't remember what it is called.
I got the package yesterday..thank you so much! Now I have to figure out a new "regime". LOL Definitely let us know the test results. p,s there is someone on the Open forum looking for someone in Vegas..

Leanne:
Your situation is exactly like mine! My DF remarried after my DM passed away and moved into the country about an hour away. How did you like the new barbell set?

TK:
I can just picture you chasing a bunch of 10 year olds and cornering them! They must have been so scared! I hope they learned their lesson! When I was about 7 or 8, my friend and I thought it would be funny to put mud on a white Caddy that was parked in front of my house..the owner did the same thing you did, he came out screaming at us, took us to our parents and told them what we did...I have a healthy respect for other people's property and I think it started that day!

Have a great day!

Deb

Deb - you could be right about the rest. I'll see how it goes during the day today and figure out what I'm going to do.

TK - I'm ROFLMAO over here about you chasing down the 10 year olds!! That's awesome! I bet they were terrified!

Hello Melters.

Last night was BMX2, I realized the only thing hard about that workout is that I don't do it enough in my rotations. Tonight is DoubleCardio from 4DS, and Thurs is Cardio Fusion.

I work as a member service rep. at a credit union. Been there since 1989. We finance alot new start up homes in the state plus we belong to a business network that's mainly home related. The home show is at the IMAX-Celebration Village near my house. Before then, my first time doing Amy Bento ASC2.

It's supposed to be 46 degrees here today. We had warmer days before but never lasted, just like this one. More snow tonight.

Have a Great Day!!

Good morning, melters -

Last night I did GS BSB, but I skipped the shoulders, and it's a good thing. My "mouse" shoulder really needed the rest. I did some good lifting on back and bi's though! Tonight I'll do CC 7.

About those brownies - the biggest problem is that I feel NO guilt at all! I just see them and start eating. But the good thing is that I think I've finally reached overload. The whole brownie idea just didn't sound good last night. So maybe I can get back on track now.

Shelley - of course you know that I agree with Deb. Take a rest day or two or three. Poor you! And how awful to wake up that early and not even get a decent workout. A waste of perfectly good sleeping time, isn't it?

Deb - I think the new mouse platform is going to help. The new position already feels better!

Jennifer - yes, definitely work that BM2 into your routine more. It's a lot of fun!

Lanie - how are the kiddos this morning?

TK - what a great story! I'm glad you put those little punks in their place! }(

Hi to Robin, Tneah and Leanne... BBL!

Hi Everyone

I just looked at the times you guys are up and cannot believe my eyes. When do you all go to bed? 7pm? Oh my goodness, plus you workout. You all are pretty amazing.

I am up early to take DH to the airport. He is going back to DC to battle it out with the FTC lawyers again, they want us to rewrite one of our ads...its never ending I tell ya. Then I get back, do some cardio and then hop on over to get the bodyfat tested.

Deb, funny story about chasing those kids. And yes, you might be right about the period thing, I once went 4 years without one when I was running and training for a half marathon and living on just veggies...don't ask, it was a long time ago and I was a stringy, overtrained mess! Glad you received the products. Let me know if you have any questions, Shelley should get hers soon!

Shelley, ok. Stop. Rest. Your hip pain is starting to worry me, you might have some bursitis happening in there, that is how my arthritis started in my own hip, with that sort of pain you are describing. Please take everyone's advice and rest it for a few, and then do some gentle exercise and stretch. I would not wish arthritis or any sort of hip pain on my worst enemy! You might consider getting it xrayed, just so you know what you are dealing with inside there.

Jennifer, you are another early riser. Have a great workout this morning!

Shannon, get back on track today, I get the same way, once I start eating treats or whatever, I get a blasse attitude towards it all, but thats okay. You eat well otherwise, just say no to them most of the time, not all of the time and you will be just fine.

Hi to Leanne and Robin, Lainie and everyone else, bbl..

Hi everyone,

I slept in until 7:00 this morning -- pure bliss! Now I'm waiting for my oatmeal to set while I check in with everyone.

My new Troy Barbell arrived yesterday, so I'm going to use it today for GS Back/Sh/Bis. I'm so excited!! Isn't it great that we have a place where other people understand our fitness interests (er, should that be obsessions?!)!

The weather here has been so nice, so DH and I might head to the beach with our spring wetsuits to do some Boogie boarding today or tomorrow. (We live less than a mile away.) We need to check the water temps, though, since there's no way I'm getting in cold water! I wish I could send some of our sun to our snowy melters!

Deb -- Isn't that interesting how we've had such similar experiences with our DFs?! I'll be using my new barbell today!

Shelley -- You poor thing! Are you OK? Like Deb said, it sounds like you need a few days off! Your body is telling you something! I forgot to say thanks for the Tuesday welcome! It was nice being able to check in yesterday! I also wanted to say that I bet your hair looked AWESOME short and blond! Do you have any photos of it? I used to have a short pixie cut (about 1") for years in college, but I felt like I could get away with it more then since I was much tinier. And I bet your body fat really was that low -- and probably still is!

TK -- Your story about chasing the boys is hysterical! In one of my writing classes, we always read this essay by Annie Dillard called "An American Childhood," where Dillard describes how one of the best days of her life was when a man chased them as kids when they threw a snowball at his car. It reminded me so much of that! I tried to find an on-line printing so I could email it to you, but I think it's only available in her book. I hope you can take that comp day soon -- you've been working way too much!

Lainie -- Glad that Isaac and Ewan are doing a bit better! Keep us posted, alright?

Jennifer -- How great that BM2 isn't too hard for you. That one just kills me! Your job sounds interesting! Hope the snow doesn't last too long!

Robin -- Sounds like you had such a relaxing evening last night! What Austen book are you reading? She and the Bronte sisters are my favorite authors. My two favorite by Austen are _Pride & Prejudice_ and _Persuasion_. Your new hairdo sounds so cute! You should post some photos!:) Is your knee doing alright being back at work?>

Shannon -- Glad that the new mouse tray seems to be helping! Glad that brownie overload has been reached so you can stay away from them!

Tneah -- Be sure to let us know what happens after your appointment this morning! Is Aunt Flo her yet? How long will DH be gone? I know how much you'll miss him! Can you also maybe "sneak" some of his exercise equipment out of your workout room while he's gone so you can add in more of your toys?;-)

Hi melters. I have a minute here at work and thought I'd try to catch up with you all. I'm planning on doing KPC this afternoon. I preordered Amy B's In the Ring, but haven't gotten it yet, but I feel kind of kickboxy today.

Deb, the dentist visit was OK. It was just a cleaning. Unfortunatly, the dentist decided it's time to replace a filling, so I go back in May. He's also making more noises about another crown. Yuk.

tneah, do we have a bodyfat # yet? I hope you are pleased with it. I know how you feel with everyone here who works out so early. I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I thought about getting up and working out, but I was seriously afraid of injuring myself. I never was good at exercising first thing. Good luck to your DH in DC.

Lainie, I sure hope everyone is on the mend.

Shelley! Is the hip that hurts the same side that was bothering you a while ago? Maybe you are running too much. Rest, rest, rest....

Leanne, high five and the new barbell. You are so lucky living near the beach! I'm reading Sense & Sensibility right now. Persuasion is next. I've never read many classics. My education through high school and college was really lacking, even though I took all the required English classes, as well as some extra as humanity electives. Maybe you could post a "must read" list of classics? I should probably re-read the few I have read, since it's been so long...Yes, my knee is doing well at work.

Shannon, I hope the new mouse does the trick. Brownies never were a weakness of mine. Now, chocolate chip cookies is another story. Oh, and donuts. And good chocolate. And cake. With so many weaknesses, who needs brownies.

Hi Jennifer. I haven't done BM2 for a long time. As soon as I thing my knee is up to it, I'll have to dig it out.

TK, way to go with those kids. You are tuff! I had to yell at some young "ladies" (and I use the term loosely) while were on a beach on St John. The Virgin Island University must sponser classes for other colleges because we saw students doing studenty work all week. One day some of the girls were working on a very crowded beach and their favorite work seemed to start with F and end in CK. I had to stroll over and tell them to watch their language, there were lots of small kids around. Of course, they stopped, but had to mock me rather loudly for the next 30 minutes or so.

I better get back to work. I'll check in later, after I've done my workout.

Hi everyone, I'm back. The boys are still not doing very well. I think Isaac is getting slightly better. At least he hasn't had anything come back up since yesterday, but the stuff coming out the other end isn't normal yet. Ewan is having trouble out both ends. Ugh. I won't go into any further TMI then that.

I got them both to lie down for a nap and hopefully they're actually sleeping by now. Poor little guys.

I did manage a workout--did Tracey Staehle's Glute Camp for the first time. I can't believe I preordered that and only just now got around to doing it. Of course with the ankle and knee issues I haven't done a lot of my lower body workouts. I thought it would be a good one to try today since it's not a very heavy weight workout and it uses the BOSU (I love using the BOSU). There's also some good floor work which is o.k. on the knees. I felt like I got a decent workout without too much knee stress, so that was good. I am actually more comfy with lunges now than squats. I did do squats, but just not very deeply.

Tomorrow is cardio; I just got Amy's In the Ring yesterday afternoon, so I want to try that one.

Shelley, wow, what a rough start to your morning. The other day at the pediatrician's office we read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and your post this morning reminded me of that book. I'm with Deb--think you should rest for a couple days at least.

TK, great job outrunning the little kids. You rock. I can barely outrun my toddler lately. :p

Deb, how is your day going? It looks like you did all personals this morning without saying what you were up to.

Jennifer, my knees are hurting just reading your week's workout plans. Ouch. I wish I could do all that! Maybe one day I'll be able to again. I actually have yet to do BM2 all the way through, though I've done its various premixes a lot. I had planned to do all of it all the way through the week I ended up hurting my ankle--haven't been 100% since then.

Shannon, thanks so much for your kindness to a fellow cripple. Of course, today I feel pretty healthy compared to my little boys. x(

Tneah, don't forget some of us are on the East Coast...of course I am on the East Coast and I'm usually not on early anyway. My DH left town this morning, too. He went to Pittsburgh and then somewhere in Ohio, though. He misses the days in Europe when the places he'd travel were places like Geneva, Stockholm, Oslo, and Budapest.

Leanne, I think I remember that Annie Dillard essay--maybe when I took Art of the Essay in college. Great class. Hope you are out at the beach now and enjoying it.

Robin, thanks for your advice on the Open forum. I had tried the BRAT diet (didn't know about BRATTY) but Ewan threw up a banana yesterday and Isaac won't eat rice, so it was more of an AT diet. Today we're trying the TY as well. I also got some crackers at the convenience store.

Afternoon Melty ones~

Jennifer - BM2 isn't hard???? Yikes! You must be superwoman!

Shannon - how's that new mousepad? I agree that it was a waste of time I could have been sleeping this morning!

Tneah - how did the drop off go? And do we have results yet? My pain isn't really in my hip. It's more in my back and going down to just above my hip. It's definitely muscle though.

Lainie - how are the boys? And you?

Leanne - you seem to be enjoying your time off! How is the new barbell?

Robin - yeah, 3:30 is a tad early to be working out. I'm glad work is flying by for you.

I'm in a real birthday slump here, so not in a very good mood. Sorry about that!

I am back:) First though, it was TK who chased the kids, I responded to Deb like a total dork!x(

Okay, good news. The body scanner was totally cool. You just lay down on this table and a machine overhead goes up and down your body in 6 minutes flat.

Bodyfat results: 13.8 percent. I was pleased. I am 5' 7' and weight was 148. So that means I got alot of muscle--very nice. All the hard work has paid off.Would like to see if I can get to 12 percent before all is said and done. The nurse also thinks my missed period is because of my exercise/diet and bodyfat levels, she says everyone is different, but the blood work will reveal what is going on hormonally. I have to fast beforehand, so get that done early am tomorrow.

Bone density: only two points away from the top score you can get. Very pleased with that as well. So important that bone mass.

I feel like celebrating with a bowl of ice cream and hot fudge sauce, but I won't. }(

You guys should look to check if this service is offered in your area. Leanne, SD has to have a facility that does this sort of thing.
Oh and have fun boogey boarding, whatta funny name!:7

Hope the boys are getting a little better Lainie, okay, time to walk the dog and now I am super sleepy, the guys left this morning, and left their dang phones so I have to Fed-Ex them overnight...x( how can you forget your phone? We girls would never forget right?

Afternoon, everyone!

I LOVE my Troy Lite! It is SO much nicer than my old barbell, and I love how much shorter it is!

Well, we didn't make it to the beach because we checked on-line and the water temp is still really cold. DH took me to drop my car off for some work, and after he takes me to pick it up in a bit, I might run some errands to see if I can get me some new workout duds for Amy Bento's LA class on Saturday. In addition to the class, she's treating us to a free, healthy dinner, so I'd like to pick up a little thank-you gift for her, too. Do you think some smelly bath goodies would be nice?

Shelley -- {{{HUGS}}} to you! Are you doing OK? Do you just get sad about getting older each year or do you miss your mom?

Tneah -- WOW! You just ROCK, chica! That is so awesome that your BF is that low, and that you've got so much muscle on you! I'm going to look into something like that here. Are you sure that you want to get even lower with your BF? Like the nurse said, it could be wreaking havoc on your hormones, and I'm worried about you getting back to that bad place of a disorder. Now celebrating with a bowl of ice cream wouldn't be so bad -- it would help keep those awesome calcium levels up!

Lainie -- Sorry that the boys are still doing so terribly! Poor little ones! Sounds like Glute Camp was a good workout. I just love the name!

Robin -- Ug about having to get a new crown, but it's also nice to hear that your knee is behaving so well! Oh, _S&S_ is my third favorite by Austen! Have you seen the Emma Thompson film version of it? It's really well done! I was just talking about it with my Brit Lit class a few weeks ago. After you finish _Persuasion_, I'd recommend _Jane Eyre_ and _Wuthering Heights_; even if you've read them before, they're still wonderful to re-read! I'm teaching WH for the first time next week in Brit Lit, and I'm so excited about it!

Hello Melters.

4DS is waiting for me and so is my support staff (my cats) Seville and Madrid.

Shelley-Hope your day got better and your birthday is Great!!
And,are you feeling better physically?

Tneah-Yahoo!! on your test results..

Robin-Dental work, what a bummer.

Time to get back to my other stuff then I must find energy tonight. I usually workout at night except for weekends, then I get up way too early.

Evening all...

Tneah - holy MUSCLE woman! That's amazing! All your results sound great! Congrats:)

Lainie - I'm crossing my fingers that those boys are starting to improve.

Leanne - there's a whole bunch of stuff with my birthday. It's never ever been a good day for me. I don't actually recall any of my birthdays growing up. They're always disappointing. And every year it just serves as a reminder of what I haven't accomplished. And now I do miss my mom. She used to make me feel special and now there really isn't anyone to do that.

Jennifer - enjoy that workout!

Dearest, dearest Shelley, you are very special. I know we all feel that way. Hey, it's just another day. Actually, DH thinks celebrating birthdays is stupid. It's not like anyone did anything special besides appear on their birthday. Maybe you should pick a random day, or a day that WAS good for you, and celebrate it every year. It can be called Shelley Day. I'd love to celebrate that holiday.

tneah, great news with the numbers. I'm really impressed with your bone scan. Not suprised, but impressed.

Leanne, I haven't read Jane Eyre or WH since my teen years. I loved them both, but am sure I'd get a whole other outlook at this point in my life. I'm definitely going to read them again. I also have a copy of The Grapes of Wrath to reread.

Lainie, your poor babies. Are you giving them anything like Pedialyte? Of course, my pharmacist friend says that stuff makes diarrhea worse.

So I did KPC when I got home from work. It wasn't too bad. Now my quads and butt are sore. Yay for DOMS.

ETA: I forgot to tell Leanne how excited I am about her weekend with Amy B. Have fun!

Hey all!

Shelley -- I'm so sorry that you're feeling so down! I love Robin's idea of making a Shelley Day! You know how much we all love you and how AMAZING you are as a person! You really, really are!! I'm sending you more {{{HUGS}}}!!! Treat yourself well this week, and, on Friday, be sure to do things that you want to do and that will make you feel good. If you don't want any of that b-day-related-garbage, then just do something fun like getting take-out for dinner and watching a fun movie with Sophie and your SO!

Robin -- Oh, yes, re-read JE and WH again soon! I bet you'd love all over again! I'm not much of a Steinbeck fan, which is funny because we live in a newer housing development where all the streets are named after authors, and our street is Steinbeck. I really wanted to live on Dickinson Drive!;-) And, yes, I'm so excited for Amy's class on Saturday! I really wanted to get my new kickboxing workouts from her before then since she said she'd be doing a few combos from them. I don't want to look like a complete dufus!

Jennifer -- Have fun working out with the kitties! I did the 4DS step double cardio a few weeks ago for the first time, and it's so much fun!

I'm also up for a Shelley Day--celebrated in both Canada and the U.S.! An international holiday! I loves me some Shelley!

Robin, yes I've given them some Pedialyte, but also just regular juice--although when I give them juice it's usually at least 80% water and only 20% juice. Lots of liquids, anyway. Isaac ate more today and seemed to be doing better, so maybe he'll be able to go back to school tomorrow. DH is all paranoid about him missing too much school--he's only missed 3-4 days all year and he's in Kindergarten, for Pete's sake.

Leanne, my favorite Austens are also P&P and Persuasion. They're also my favorite Austen movies--love the BBC version of P&P with Colin Firth and this Persuasion: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114117/ I don't even own that Persuasion yet, but I want it.

Another vote for Shelley day!:) :) I love that idea. My DH feels the same way about birthdays, said the only one that counts is the first one.;) Whatta wise man I married huh? Sounds like your SO isn't into the whole thing either...ahhh men, whatta gonna do with em?:p

I hate that you feel so down about it though. Screw the past, my b-days were nothing to write home about either-I cannot really even remember them how strange is that? We love you bunches, and I am sure Sophie would love to celebrate with mommy! You two should go get your toes and fingers pampered or something fun like that.

Lainie, good news about your boys. I would keep them home one more day, like you said, its only kindergarten right?;)

Leanne, I am blushing as I write this, but have never read any of Jane A. books. Oh dear, I just recently got really into Hemingway and Fitzgerald. My favorite thus far has to be "A Moveable Feast". I was dumbfounded and swept away by this book, and now that I mentioned it, want to read it again! One of our copywriters was an English professor, and is still trying to get me interested in Ezra Pound. But he is an "intellectual" and I am a dork, so Ezra doesn't "compute" with me, try as I might to understand and get into his musings.

Thanks Robin, yeah, I was really pleased about the bone mass especially after limping around for years. I guess weight training consistently has paid off...its so important to maintain as much of that precious bone as we can. The bodyfat is cool too, but boy was it hard to lose that 5 percent!x( We shall see what the future holds with that...

Okay kids, its just me and George tonight, I rather like it. Top Chef is on pretty soon, so signing out until tomorrow. Oh, everyone let me know when you receive the products, cause if you don't, I am gonna knock some heads together at the UPS store.;)
