Good Morning and Happy New Week!

Just getting us started...I worked out with Grace this morning..will be back in a bit...

Deb:)

RE: ++ Let's

Morning Deb and other melters.

My head feels like a big, empty balloon. Dang, I hate being sick. I'm hoping to feel well enough this afternoon to do some kind of leg workout. Maybe GS. I ate nothing but junk yesterday and plenty of it. Lots of water and veggies today.

I'll see you all later to catch up on the news.

RE: ++ Let's

Morning Deb, Robin and all who follow~

I managed to drag my arse outta bed this morning and do Leaner Legs and abs. Ouch!

Robin - so sorry that you feel so icky. Make sure you rest if that's what your body is telling you to do!

RE: ++ Let's

Hi,

I am back. It is rainy and cold here today. They said it might get to 60 tomorrow whoo whoo! :)

Jennifer:
What is ACS2? I see it all the time on the forums.

TK:
How was the quilt show? Do they sell them or just display? We never get anything like that around here. What is the closest airport to New Castle? How far are you from Cathe's gym?

Robin:
Are you calling in sick today? It sounds like you have what we all struggled to get rid of about a month ago :-( . I hear you on the junk. I had a pretty good day yesterday. I ate a lot, but it was all good stuff.

Shelly:
Thanks for reminding me about Leaner Legs. I have yet decided what leg workout to do this week, so I will check this out. You may feel bad now but you will be smiling all the way home tonight! oops just remembered that Leaner Legs is part of CTX and I sold that on Ebay.. ok back to S&H legs this week!

Hi to all that post later! Have a good day..

Deb :)

RE: ++ Let's

Good Morning Melters.

It's Monday, warm, and of course, rain and thunderstorms today and Tues..60plus degrees today and it feels like it already.

Deb-Advanced Step Challenge 2 from Amy Bento. A friend encouraged me to get it. After about 6 previews, I did most of it on the floor on Sat except for combo 5. It's fun workout. Keeps you moving.

Robin-Lots of people are sick here too. Either cold or allergies or both. It's been a very cold spring.

Shelley-This week, I get leaner legs from CTX. Can't wait.

TK-Show us osome pics of your quilts.

One of my boys were bad this morning but he got mad cause I was carrying the other around, and he did the #2 on my dining room table. Madrid was sneezing and wanted to make sure he eats. He almost died as a kitten from severe URIs after my adoption.

Have a Great Day!!

RE: ++ Let's

Hi everyone. I set my alarm early this morning because I planned to get up and work out. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. That happens so seldom. Anyway, when the alarm went off, I grumbled groggily "ain't no friggin' way I'm gettin' up now" and reset my alarm for an hour later. However, only 30 minutes later Ewan was up and trotting in my room chattering. Typical.

Now I've got both kids up and dressed and fed. I've got everything ready to go except my face. I still need to do my Tneah skincare regimen and put on a little makeup.

So I'm tired again but at least I have some shopping to look forward to.

I plan to do Get Ripped at some point today--not sure how I'll do with the lower body work since my ankle is bothering me again and the knees are still creaky. I'm thinking of stopping physical therapy, though, since I'm just so tired of it soaking up most of my time while Ewan's in nursery school.

Robin, I sure hope you feel better soon! Being sick really sucks.

Shelley, good job getting in an early workout. You beat me at that today.

Deb, yep we've got rain here today, too. Good news is I found my very special umbrella at church yesterday. I saw it a couple weeks ago and thought, is that my umbrella? It was still there yesterday so I pulled it out and sure enough, it's mine. I had lost it a while back and I guess I'd left it at the church some time. It's a special one I bought near the British Museum in London, so I doubt there are many being left at my church.

Jennifer, good luck with those kitties today!

TK, yes that is exactly the problem I get with pants--fits the booty, too big in the waist, fits the waist, won't go over the booty. It's not even like I have a small belly. I am narrow enough on the sides of my waist, though--it does go in well on the sides--just have that front post-babies pooch. It doesn't help with the pants, though--still have trouble getting a small enough waist in pants with my booty. (Also, not like my butt's huge--just normal curvy.) Sometimes I wish I had the skills to sew and design clothes. I do technically know how to sew but it's not something I'm good at. My grandmother and her sisters were seamstresses, but I didn't get those genes.

RE: ++ Let's

Good morning, everyone -

Robin - I sure hope you feel better soon. All that clean eating you have planned for the day will probably help a bunch! Lots of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Shelley - I simply cannot imagine doing LL that early in the morning. OMG.

Deb - I hope it warms up for you soon!

Jennifer - we're getting the thunderstorms today too. Oh boy. If one of my critters pulled that trick on the coffee table, I'd shove her outside for the rest of the day!!!

Lanie - I know how you feel about PT - it does take up a lot of time! And once you reach a certain point, there's only so much they can do, because they won't really push you very hard. At least they didn't when I went. I'll bet that by now you know enough to continue on your own.

I had another computer-free weekend. It was a must because for some reason those neck and shoulder issues were really bad. Dang it, it looks like I missed a lot this weekend! I still have to go back and see what you melters did. I've been busy reading about CC PP day and the news from Coach Sean!

We got SOOOO much rain yesterday. It was awesome. We'll get more today. Hopefully the drive home won't be too bad....

OH! - I did the cardio blast premix from BM 2 and 4DS HIS this weekend with NO calf problems! Yay!

The peanut butter jar and I got along quite well this weekend. :9 Yum! But other than that, I ate clean and actually cooked some fairly decent meals - meaning that my attempts to cook were actually successful. :p

RE: ++ Let's

Morning again~

Deb - lol about forgetting that you'd sold CTX. I quite like the workouts in that series and I'm actually contemplating using it as intended one of these days!

Lainie - trust me, I do the "no freaking way" thing fairly often when the alarm goes off at 4:20.;-) Have you decided what you're doing about BFL yet?

Jennifer - your cat used your dining table as a bathroom? Wow. I'm with Shannon. I'd be livid.

Shannon - I'm so excited about CC#8!!! The music sounds amazing! Congrats on your successful cooking ventures!

Tneah - I used the skincare routine last night and this morning and WOW! I can't even believe how great it is! I'm using the serum and the undereye stuff (Hylexin?) and the Ibedenol (sp?) as moisturizer as I tend to break out and you're right! It does leave you glowing! Ooooh, a new Aussie captain! You'll have to let us know if he's hunky ;-)

TK - are you fairly close to Cathe's gym?

Did I miss anyone? If so, I'm waving wildly!

RE: ++ Let's

tneah, even if the new Captain isn't hunky, lie to us. We all want to think of you sailing the 7 seas with a hunky, Aussie Captain.

RE: ++ Let's

Morning All!:)

*little white lie* Captain Steve looks like George Clooney with an Australian accent.;) Hope he works out too. Time will tell.

Well, its Monday again, time to chat and whine to Mr. Trainer man.:) Yesterday was pure bliss, no exercise at all. And I ate when I felt like it, so my diet wasn't on schedule yesterday. Oh, and I went out and hunted down my sugar free-fat free ice cream, ate a huge bowl and wound up "paying homage" to my toilet all night long.x( Yes, I should have just enjoyed the "real deal", all that sorbitol does a number on your intestinal tract.;)

TK, got your address, will send out products today!The quilting convention thing actually sounded like fun!
:)

Deb, I am in love with those adorable puppies! I do so hope you get one from that litter. Aren't puppies one of life's most wonderful things?:7

Shelley, leaner legs hurts. Congrats for doing it so dang early too. And yes! Your skin does look all glowey doesn't it?:7

Robin, hope that head cold clears up. Could it be allergies? We have a horrid pollen problem in Vegas right now, everything is covered in green stuff and it really affects your breathing and nasal passages.

Shannon, peanut butter...yummers.Oh, I should have cheated with a jar of that myself yesterday! Glad you powered through that tough workout with no calf complaints.

Jennifer, your cat did what?:eek: Oh dear. I am really sorry to hear that, I would have flipped out, and then probably thrown up. Naughty kitty.

Lainie, hey sleepy girl, glad you found your long lost umbrella. I think its so cool you lived in London. I have a friend who lived in Wales for a time. I have never been to either place, maybe someday...I need a travel buddy because DH will not travel out of the country...for no particular reason really, just not fond of travel. Strange duck I married.

Today is legs I suppose. I am getting bored with my same weight routine, will talk to him about that today. Maybe I will go to the gym, I saw a video on bodybuilding.com, they interviewed Carrottop-aka Scott Thompson, and he was working out at my Golds Gym! I adore him, that would be cool to run into him....I used to be a gym rat, but am not there anymore, still the equipment is so nice.
Hi to Leanne! Oh, do get the PVL peanut butter/chocolate protein powder, I have switched over to this brand from Lean Dessert. Its about the same price but you get a huge jug of it and it tasted just as good. I also have the cookies and cream, chocolate (nothing to write home about), caramel dip (yummers) and the blueberry blast--very good in the AM. OK, BBL...

RE: ++ Let's

Good morning, everyone!

Everyone has been so chatty already this morning! Love it!

Well, it's officially the end of spring break for me, and I have TONS of work to do today. I may actually need to work into the evening since I'm starting a new novel in one of my classes tomorrow, and that requires a lot of prep work. Ah, well! Today I'll probably be doing one of Amy's new KB workouts; I was looking at the Hi/Lo Knockout one, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time (and energy!) to do all 87 minutes of it. What is everyone else up to?

Deb -- Oh, those new puppies are just *so* adorable! I hope you can get one! Did you get your car out of storage alright?

Robin -- Did you stay home from work today? Hope that nasty cold leaves you soon!

TK -- The quilt show sounds like it was fun! Have you had any time to work on any sewing projects lately? LOL at Income Tax Max! Hopefully it was good news! Yes, that one photo was of the whole group; I think that there were about 12 of us. It was really fun! Isn't her new haircut adorable?

Tneah -- How is Mitch doing today? Have thing settled back to normal with him? Oh, yes, I like Robin's idea of having the new captain being really hunky! ETA: Looks like we were posting again at the same time!:) Thanks for the flavor recommendations on the protein powder! I think I'm going to order some today! I love my Lean Dessert flavors, but it would be nice to try some new ones!

Lainie -- Sorry to hear that you didn't get to enjoy your sleeping in, and that your ankle and knees are still bothering you. You might need to head to PT for awhile longer, just to make sure that everything is getting stronger. Where are you going shopping today?

Shannon -- Glad you took the weekend off from the computer! Sounds like it was just what your shoulder needed!

Jennifer -- I still don't have ASC2, but hope to get it sometime. I think you'll really like the CTX series; I haven't done it as planned, but have mixed up various workouts and they are a lot of fun. How is your friend Michele doing with her workouts?

Shelley -- I'm sure you always glow, even without the beauty products! How did the rest of your weekend go? Is Chris feeling better?

RE: ++ Let's

Hey chicks!

Robin - I love the idea of Tneah lying to us about the captain!!

Tneah - mmmm... George Clooney with an Aussie accent! Yum! How did the trainer call go?

Leanne - sorry you have to go back to work this week:( Me? Glowing? HAHAHAHAHAHA - uh, no. Thanks for asking about my weekend. It pretty much sucked, to be honest. But we move on, right?

RE: ++ Let's

Shelley - I'm excited about CC 8 too! Yet one more reason to keep me on that elliptical! And you do a pretty good job of "glowing!" I saw you in person. It's true.

Tneah - It sounds like you learned your lesson. The next time you want a treat, go for the real thing! And don't forget to add a spoonful of PB. :9

Leanne - I hope you don't have to work too late, and that you save plenty of time for your workout!

One of my co-workers is leaving - tomorrow is her last day. So a bunch of us all went out to Benihana's for lunch. :9 :9 Now I really need a good workout!!

Have a great evening, everyone

RE: ++ Let's

Hey all,

Just ate lunch. Orange roughy with broccoli, cauliflower and a few baby carrots with a little salt. :9 It was actually really good!

Ok, I talked to Mr. Trainer man this am. I am sooo sensitive, let me just say this right off the dang bat. I am really in tune with others "tone" or whatever, and I know stuff they are going to say before they say it. Its weird. I know beforehand who is going to get kicked off those reality shows as soon as I start watching, I get these weird little flashes. That or I am totally paranoid and need medication.;) But, he wasn't as "enthused" this time. The conversation always feels a little awkward, I mean we have never met in person, and get a bit nervous talking over the phone and only remember half of what I need to ask him.
But he was kinda "blasse" this morning. Maybe because its Monday, maybe he didn't sleep well, etc... but of course I took it personal. He is pleased with my lower body especially, says I am starting to look alot more "conditioned"...whatever that means, nice high glutes are starting to happen...so that was good. Upper body? He says we need to concentrate on making the top and the bottom more balanced and I really need to start pushing the weights. I said I did not want to wind up looking like a guy, and he laughed and said if I trained hard for the next 5 years, that would never happen because I do not have the genetics for that kind of size--ok, good. So then, my weight was up by 2 pounds, I am not sweating it, its the same weight I told you guys, and the same pics too...so I asked why it seemed so hard for me to actually drop weight. And he said something like "we all have our obstacles or burdens to bear", something like that. What did that mean? But on the flip, he was pleased with the bodyfat, and didn't think it needed to be lower. Just concentrate on working my upper body really hard. Oh, and my skipped period he says its the exercise.

So anyway, after all that. I am going to do my best these last few weeks, to see if I can get to 145. There I go again with the scale thing, isn't that stupid? Bodyfat is what counts and I cannot get around the fact, it seems like I should have dropped so much weight with all the exercise and dieting.

Off to mail TK her stuff. The boys are coming down again--tonight!x( Good grief. There is much work to be done with ads and things, so I guess that is how we pay our bills.;) Thanks for listening to my rant.

RE: ++ Let's

Hi gang. I'm pooped and not up to a workout after all. Greyor and I are going to go take a nap until DH comes home with subs. Sorry for the lack of personals, but I am just wiped out.

RE: ++ Let's

Afternoon, everyone!

Tneah -- Hey, sweetie, don't let Mr. Trainer's comments get you down! Seriously, I'm absolutely shocked that he wants you to do more with your upper body. How could that be???? You look absolutely amazing, and I can't see how your upper body could be more toned or look better than it already does! Please believe how serious I am! And it really does not seem like you need to lose any weight at all. I know you know this, but remember how much more muscle weighs than fat; you are pure muscle, and the scale is not reflecting this. Try not to obsess about losing those last few pounds! It's not a good place to be when you aren't enjoying life because you're worrying about the scale! :)

Robin -- You poor, sick thing! Did you end up going to work today or not? If you're still feeling lousy, you should definitely stay home. And don't worry about not working out today; your body needs the rest to feel better!

Shannon -- Now you probably had a really healthy lunch at Benihana's, so you probably don't need to work out too hard!:) Is this the one co-worker that you're really sad to see go?

Shelley -- Sorry that your b-day weekend was so crummy!:-( Can you enjoy this coming weekend and do some Shelley-Fun-Things??:)

Alright, I better get back to work. I still have a few more hours of work to do tonight, but hopefully will get everything done that I need to before going back to teaching tomorrow.

Tomorrow's my crazy day at work, so I probably won't get a chance to check in with you Melty Ladies, but I'll try to pop by later tonight. If I don't get a chance to, hope you all have fabulous days tomorrow!:)

RE: ++ Let's

Keeping this short, tonight. I'm real tired and hoping I don't get the viruses going around.

Yes, Seville lived today. It was a power move to show who's Boss, and it's apparantley not me. Throwing him outside would be dangerous for him since there are outside feline that have claimed this as their area. My old cat, Adiran, did some bad stuff too when he was alive.

Tneah-Question your trainer. Just like your would your physcian. Make sure his goals are the same as yours.

Time for dinner and going to bed, oh, winter will be back this week.

RE: ++ Let's

This morning was Christi Taylor Totally Cool Step. I never get tired of that one! Tonight I'm getting a haircut, the first in a while. I've been growing out some of my layers over the last couple months as I'd like to transition to a longer layered style (still above my shoulders though, just not super short!). I just hope my stylist gets it right. I love her to death but I find it hard to explain to her what I want, even if I come in with a picture! I really should look at other salons but I've just been too lazy to do it.

Deb: The quilt show had both quilts on display and vendors selling fabric/notions/sewing machines/gadgets. There were a couple vendors who were selling vintage quilts and unfinished quilt tops. BTW, the closest airport to New Castle is Philadelphia and from here to Cathe's gym is about 45-50 minute drive.

Lainie: As I'm sitting here at work right now I can feel the back waistline of my slacks gaping in the back. I had this notion at one time that I was going to make my own clothing, but found that it was more expensive and time-consuming. After buying the fabric, pattern, notions, plus the time involved it just wasn't worth it in the end. So I'll just sit here with that gape in the back (just have to make sure that the shirt is tucked in securely so I don't give anyone a view of my butt crack LOL!)

Jennifer: Oh my. Bad bad cat! I've always had dogs and they are semi easy to punish with some harsh words, but how do you punish a cat? Regarding my quilts, I need to update my picturetrail with some more stuff so I'll post the link when I'm done.

Tneah: Yes, please tell us the captain is hunky. With that cute Aussie accent, I think I'd be making excuses to go to the boat more often LOL. Regarding Mr Trainer Man, I always thought that either you could lose weight OR gain muscle but not both at the same time. So if you'd rather lose those couple pounds I'd say ignore his 'pushing the weights' comment and just concentrate on the diet. I think you look great regardless!

Shelley: Yes I'm pretty close to Cathe's gym, but it's just far enough away that it wouldn't be feasible to join. I keep telling myself that I'll take a morning off from work to do one of Cathe's classes but I never seem to get around to it.

Leanne: With my big work project I was either working on weekends or getting caught up on sleep. I did manage to finish one more bag but I keep forgetting to photograph it and put it in my picturetrail. I'll try to remember to charge up my ancient digital camera and get a pic or two posted. There's a few other quilts that I don't have in picture trail either. I'll try to get those up too. It's so sad that your mini vacation is over already! I hope you at least enjoyed your time away.

Shannon: Mmm Benihana! And I'm so jealous of you folks with the CC workouts. They just sound so fun (and different) I just have no room to put any kind of treadmill or eliptical in my house. I'm still trying to figure out how I would store that new pull-up contraption that Cathe will be selling!

RE: ++ Let's

Hey all,

TK, I mailed your stuff today, should get there Thursday? Hopefully!
According to Kim and in my own personal experience, you actually can lose bodyfat and gain lean mass at the same time, which is why I am doing so much cardio (fat loss, and the diet)plus training really hard, and taking lots of supplements like amino acids. I started the program at 18-19 percent bodyfat and am at 13.8 now, so I have lost nearly 5 percent fat and actually gained lean mass in my glutes and throughout my body, which is why my bodyweight has not changed that much. Overall I have lost around 8 pounds of pure fat, so its a really hard thing to do, gain and lose at the same time!:eek: And see? My head knows the truth, but I am still a girl who looks at the damn scale...stupid.Darn it. PS> the Aussie really doesn't look like George Clooney, but we are all pretending he does.;) Glad you had fun with Christi, I have never done any of her workouts.

Robin, hope you are feeling better, sleep....

Leanne, thanks sweetie for your kind words. Like I was telling TK, I know "the deal" the scale will still haunt me I suppose, until I finally just toss it out. And yeah, try and get your bodyfat tested like I did, so worth it. The tanita scale was 6 percent higher than the professional machine said I was.

Jen, you get some sleep tonight as well...sweet dreams...

Shannon, Benihana is one of my faves, its healthy, so don't sweat it too much.:7

I just realized I fell back into "obsessive" thinking today, so sorry guys, life is more than someone's bodyfat levels and muscle mass.;)

And hey, where's Lainie bug? Hey to Shelley...

RE: ++ Let's

I've had a bit of a busy day. I did get over to ATLoft and exchanged the stuff. I didn't get exactly the same stuff but got some good stuff nevertheless. I wonder how many times I am going to say "stuff" in this post. I also swept through Target and did some damage there, including (...drumroll please....) getting my first kettlebell! Yes, I have joined the kettlebell revolution (in a little 15lb way). I also got a DVD to try with it. I also used it for a couple moves with my workout today (just things that were obvious how to use it in place of a dumbbell).

I also got a ton of laundry done (which reminds me there's still some I need to put in the dryer), chatted with a few people on the phone, filled out parent teacher conference forms for school, and did a bunch of other crap I don't even remember now. I also did Jari Love's original Get Ripped workout, though with rather shallow squats and lunges. Ankle still a bit sore and knees still crackly.

I did my first day of the month measuring today (for my Cathe calendar) and was dismayed to see that I've not only put on weight, I've put on inches! (well, at least an inch here, a half inch there, etc.) Aaarrrggghhh. That was it as far as Body for Life for me. I think it's a great program if you follow it more carefully than I apparently have done, but I'm about halfway through and getting bigger than ever. Not good. And not big in a muscular way. Not good. So I began good ole WW again. An oldie but a goodie. I'm still taking things I learned from BFL with me, though--like being more careful about getting more protein.

DH is getting back very late tonight from a brief trip to Houston. He was there for work but also had dinner with his family (one sister with her fam plus his parents). Apparently his folks put on the full court press to try to get him to move back to Houston. No dice. No freakin' way. We much prefer NY. Though I do sometimes wish I could see my family more. On the other hand, my family is lovely on visits and kind of annoying and totally unlike me on a day-to-day basis.

OK, this was a completely self-absorbed post and really something more appropriate for one of my many blogs (except I wouldn't want the fam to read it).

I know I'm way behind on personals, but I assure you I've at least read everyone's posts and I'll be back in the morning. Probably none of you on much after this anyway.
