Let's Hear It For The Core!

Just wanted to pop up with some props for the core routines in the MMA workouts and the core drills in the CCC workout. I did the MMA Kickbox core routine on Friday and it was a real barker! Cathe, I really enjoyed doing those supine straight-leg thingies hitting the obliques while holding the weights with vertical arms, AND that new balancing plank drill at the end!

I truly wasn't expecting any core work at all in this series, based on a response I got to a question about it early in the SCS planning phase. These look to be wonderful!

Surprise surprise A-Jock :D I decided to add it at some point in the developing phase upon discovering how those rolling stand-to-floor and vice versa moves really get the heart rate up and support cardio if able to be done with good flow and technique .....and doing many of the various core exercises that I included helps you get better at them so it is a win win situation.

Btw, have you gotten your mish mosh juices flowing for some of the lower impact workouts

I'm teeing up to do those rolling stand-to-floor-and-up-again thingies soon! Re lower impact workouts - actually, I'm in one of my high-impact-romance phases so that's my concentration right now. HOWEVER, having the DVDs in hand is comforting because I always know I can go low impact if ever I want to!

Thanks for your response! Stay warm! (HAH!)

I agree with Aquajock. The core routines in the MMA workouts are superb. I did MMA Boxing yesterday and my core is really talking to me. Awesome job, Cathe!
