Good Morning Gals

Today was.....4DS/PP chest and back, pushup challenge and chins/pullups. Whew!! I did the pushups challenge first, then the dvd workout (yes, I did the pushups in there too:eek:) put the chins and pulls before the workout, after 4DS and after PP. Then, I still had time:eek: so I did PUB abs :eek::eek::eek:!!! Apparently I had too much energy this morning. On a sadder note, I could only do 2.5 chins each time this morning (The first time, the bar was swinging - not usual) and I did my regular 3 neg. pullups. I may be very sore later today!!!

I am thinking of making my own chinup challenge: something along the lines of the pushup challenge. I think I need to be challenged with chinups more than pushups.

Gin~ Hope your day isn't too long. The dinner sounds nice. How was cardio today? Did you run with friends?

Marcy~ Hope you got some sleep. I hear you about the rotation. It was worth looking into though. What's on tap today?

Deanie, you know my schedule all too well! Yes, today was my day to run with my friends. And I did LIC abs before. That is all I have time for today. I did manage to do BC cardio yesterday aft. That is such a fun one and the time just flies by. I let one of my running friends borrow my KPC dvd. Besides running with us MWF, she gets on the stairmaster T-TH and says she hates it. So I thought she might like kickbox instead. I'll let you know what she thinks.

Deanie~You are the WOMAN doing all of those pushups. I knew better than to even try!:confused:
Will you come up with our own pullup and chinup challenge?
I think dinner tonight will be nice. It's for the new teachers at a nice restaurant downtown.

Marcy~Are you still going to workout in the morning or evening now that you are working again?

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Today I did Pure Barre and the Quick NRG premix from In The Ring (33 mins.) Pure Barre is tough. The arms section in Squeeze is tougher than PB but the leg section is more intense on PB. During the standing barre work, my leg was quivering so bad, I couldn't keep it bent. The ab work is pretty good on this but Squeeze has more ab work. I used 8# for back, biceps and shoulders and 5# for triceps. There were also pushups and planks. I seem to feel my muscles working a lot more with bodyweight work rather than with weights.

The In The Ring premix consisted of the warmup, combos 1 and 2 combined and combos 3 and 4 combined, intervals 1-4 with the medicine ball (I used an 8# dbbl) done twice and the cooldown and stretch. I had a little trouble with the combos since there was no breakdown and I only did this workout once before.

Gin - I will still work out in the morning. I just got my monthly parking pass today, so now I can leave later in the morning (which of course leaves me more time for my workouts!) My commute time is actually half an hour less which is great. Enjoy your dinner tonight!

Deanie - You are now the "pushup queen"! I agree that a chinup/pullup challenge would be a good idea. Maybe I'll join you on that. 2 1/2 chins is exactly where I'm up to. I just can't seem to eke out that third chin but my abs are getting stronger, so I think I'll be able to do it soon.

Today was supposed to be Cardio Kicks, but my biceps are sore today(?) so I changed to Drill Max, I think I will do a premix with the drills scrambled.

Gin~ I hope you had a good dinner last night. How was weight work today? I thought last weeks SS bi/tri was harder than the 4DS workout.

Marcy~ What's on tap for today? I think I am going to try to come up with my own chinup/pullup challenge. I looked on the internet, but couldn't find anything.

Today was pushup challenge, PP bis and tris and 4ds bis and tris and then pulls and chins (very assisted!). The pushup challenge IS a challenge for me. I am struggling with that last set and bearly able to add even 3 more when you have a "+" at the end of the #. Did that make sense??
Today is a mtg after school AND I have to be on the microphone at the carpool line to tell the kids and cars wear to go.:eek: Hope all goes well with that!

Deanie~How was DM scrambled? PP only has 2 tricep and 1 bicep exercise. Were your biceps sore from yesterday's chin ups? Dinner last night was very nice. Nice restaurant and I tried to watch what I ate....baked chicken, veggies, 3 bites of dessert, no wine.:p They do feed us at this new job! Lunch in the cafeteria is always free for staff.

Marcy~What time do you have to leave for work in the mornings? What is your workout today?

Good Afternoon!

Today I did CIA 9907 Kick-It with Janis Saffell. The workout is 1:50. I did most of it but skipped through the pushups and ab section. This is a great kickboxing workout. There are 3 sections. The first one is drills and combos with breakdown. The second section is a lot less breakdown and the third is sculpting drills which I'm really feeling right now. My quads are hurting. The workout was basically low impact but she inserted power scissors and jumping jacks here and there and a few plyo jumps. I also did 2 chinups.

I think the last rotation and this one are working very well for me. I'm keeping the weight down (usually between 122 and 123) and my BF was down to 25% this morning. Best of all, I'm having a lot of fun doing my workouts.

Have your girls done all of your 1RMs yet? I only did a couple but I think it's better if we wait until we know when it's being shipped because they might change.

Deanie - How was Drill Max?

Gin - Hope everything works out at the carpool line. I left for work today at 8:30. I might leave a little earlier tomorrow. It usually takes 45-50 mins. with traffic. With no traffic, it takes about 30-35 mins. So much better than my commute in NY. I have a lunch coming up on Friday and we're allowed to wear jeans. We're supposed to wear the firm logo shirt but they didn't have one small enough for me so I can just wear a T-shirt. Sounds like you ate very well at dinner.

I ended up doing the Drill Max scrambled cardio premix this morning. Tough! It has drill 5 twice!! i made it through though!!:)

Gin~ I think my biceps are sore from the chins/pulls. Glad I don't do any tomorrow. Hope the DOMs are gone by the a.m. because they are still here and its 3:15 pm!!:eek: Glad you had a nice dinner. sounds like you ate well. Good Luck with the microphone today! I'm sure you'll do great.

Marcy~ Sounds like you are enjoying your workouts. :) I did do my 1rms, (alot just from my PS rotation inserted into the 1RMs) but I think you are right, I am waiting till closer to STS to finish and maybe redo some.

Okay, kids are home, not sure what I wrote, too many interuptions, hope it all makes sense.

Deanie - Glad you made it through. I actually have more of a problem with Drill 4 than Drill 5. Those fast foot repeaters at the end always do me in. My DOMS are still with me too (glutes and quads).

Tomorrow is Squeeze for me. I hope I won't be sorry!

Good Morning

Today is 4DS/PP bi and tri and the pushup challenge. I plan on raising some weights, but I am really tired, so we will see.

I think work and waking up so early is catching up to me. This week is the first week I am working till 2 monday thru wednesday and its wednesday and I am BEAT!!:eek: Luckily, todays 12-2 class is with 3's and they mostly play and I have a short lesson planned.

Gin~ how'd the microphone at car line go? What cardio did you do today? run?

Marcy~ Have fun with squeeze!!! Do you still have DOMs? Mine are gone- yea:)

workout complete. Upped all my weights except the biceps curls- 24 reps at 35# is still hard for me!! Getting tired of all the stupid pushups. I did them at the end, I didn't want to fitgue (sp?) my triceps before the workout. :mad:

Good Morning!

I did Squeeze today. I did the Full Squeeze (56 mins.) and then did the Pretzel section from the Power Squeeze section. I used 3# for all of the arm sections. Could've gone higher on biceps but for all the rest, 3# was enough. I don't know what it is about these exercises, but I feel them more than anything else I've done. The leg work is tough but Pure Barre is tougher on the legs. My legs weren't quivering today. The ab work is also very effective. I still have DOMS in hips, glutes, inner thighs. The ab work also works the inner thighs because she has you squeezing the ball while doing the ab work. I also did 2 chinups again. Just can't get the third one yet!

I'm still getting used to doing a full day of work plus exercise. I'm okay when I wake up, but around 9:00, I'm feeling really tired. I couldn't wait to get a cup of coffee this morning to wake up. I've been getting up around 5:20 and left around 8:25 this morning.

Deanie - 24 reps at 35#!! Even if it's still hard, that's quite an accomplishment. Even though I'm not doing the pushup challenge, I'm still getting my pushups in and I've been able to go lower than I ever have before. Are you doing 4DS and Push Pull or does PP stand for anything else?

Gin - How'd everything go at the carpool line? What's on tap for today? How are your pushups coming along?

hey Marcy~ You make that workout sound so good!!;) i would consider buying it, but $ is tight now. I know alot of women on the forums like it. Yes, I am doing 4DS and Push/Pull (PP) this week. I'm thinking the heavy weight and the pushups don't really mix. ... but I will probably finish the challenge (I hate to quit) 2 chinups is great! I do think the pyramid of chin/pull/pushup helped me increase my chinups. I still am thinking about a chinup challenge. Even Cathe uses the asst. machine in STS- wish I had one of them!!!:p

I had 3's in my enrichment today. One of the little girls is a screamer if she doesn't get her own way. (or if someone looks at her, or if she drops her spoon, ...you get the idea) She also cries when she isn't screaming!!!:eek::eek::eek:So now I need a big stiff DRINK!!!! On the funny side, one of the little boys in class, gave us a play by play of what this girl was doing: now she's crying, now she's eating her lunch, now she's turning red!!!.... Gotta find the silver lining!!;)

Deanie - Sounds like you have a real handful in your class! Good luck and try and stay sane! Sounds like Cathe added an awful lot of equipment in STS. I'll pretty much be using what I have. She mentioned in her chat that there should be an update soon. I really want to see the leg and ab clips and the heavier weight workouts. The upper body stuff seems like a lot of the same stuff from other workouts with the addition of the chins/pulls. Seems very P90X-like.

Hi Girls!

I am finally home!:D Wednesday I have to be at school at 7:45 to open car doors in the carpool line, so didn't have time to post. I ran this morning and am planning on doing 4ds KB abs in a minute. I am TIRED, but am meeting friends for a belated b-day dinner tonight. I am looking forward to seeing them, but am just tired.
It sounds as if all 3 of us are adjusting to work and long hours again!:p

Deanie~The microphone at the carpool line was fine. I have the duty all week and then we rotate. It seems scary at first, :confused:but it was fine. Sorry about the "screamer", but your story did make me laugh!! Did you have that stiff drink yet?!?! :eek:We had a boy in our class today that "missed" in the bathroom and went all over the floor. The teacher asked who did that, he admitted it right away and said he couldn't help it there was too much to look at the bathroom and he got distracted.:eek: We have storage shelves in there.

Did you see that on the week 6, day 1 of pushup challenge you do 239+ total pushups?? YIKES! And why is it called the hundred pushup challenge??

Marcy~I am not as smooth sailing as our friend Deanie with the pushup challenge. I have done it all so far and it is a challenge for me, but remind me when I couldn't even do ONE on my toes.
Your workout today sounded like a tough one.
I ordered Classical Stretch a few days ago.
I need to go back and see all that I have missed today.

Today is The Gauntlet cardio only. For some reason I really like this workout. I don't like Imax 2 so much, but I like the combo of Imax 2 and BC together. I am going to do PUB abs today too.

Gin~ I LMAO at your bathroom story!!!:D:D I can so understand that!!:eek: Poor boy!:p. I hope you had a nice dinner and were able to stay awake for it! So its been about 3 weeks for you... How do you like the new job? Shoulders today for you? I love how short and sweet this workout day is (shoulders day).

Marcy~ How was Squeeze? Cathe does use alot of equipt. in STS. I won't be buying any more either. Although I do want the pull up tower, just don't know if I will get it.

Did you guys see the changes in the calander in the wm? they are great!

Good Afternoon!

Today I did PY4H, Strong Free & Happy (53 mins.) Perfect amount of time since I woke up late. I had wanted to do Shiva Rea but that would've taken too long. Today was my first day of heavy traffic coming in to work and I was 2 mins. late. I guess I'll have to leave a few minutes earlier. I have to remember when it rains to leave earlier since there seem to be many more accidents on the road. The yoga today had lots of arm balances which I did pretty good with but the leg balances were a bit wobbly. I did 2 sets of 2 chinups today. I almost did a third chinup on the first set but DH came in and distracted me by saying "I didn't know we had a monkey in the house".

Deanie - I really like the Gauntlet too. One of my favorite circuits. Did you do PUB abs before or after the Gauntlet? I guess it wouldn't have been too bad either way since you only did the cardio today. There was only a few minutes of core work in yoga today but I really felt it. Mark Blanchard says that yoga has the toughest core moves and I think I have to agree with him.

I have to check out the calendar changes. I was having lots of problems with it.

Gin - I also LMAO at the boy in the bathroom story. Let me know how Classical Stretch is. I've been wanting to order it for the longest time. Did you order the 2007 TV Series or just her individual ones?

Remember when you couldn't even do one pushup on your toes? Look how far you've come!

Hi Girls!

This morning I did my pushups, PP shoulders, 4ds shoulders and LIC cardio. I was quite tired when I got out of bed, but I MADE myself do it and once into it, I was fine!:)
I had a great time at the b-day dinner last night with my friends and am going out again tonight ( not b-day). Tomorrow morning is a 7:15 am mtg at school so I know I can't post in the morning. I am planning on DS yoga. Hope I can squeeze that in before work!

Deanie~Glad you were amused with the bathroom story. Have you had to deal with the screamer again??

I really do like my new job, thank you. I am able to be with the kids, but then not make all of the decisions or take work home. I am more organized than creative and more of an indian than a chief, so being an asst. instead of lead teacher suits me just fine! I still need to get used to the longer hours though! How do you like your new class?
I also like the new wm.
Someday I want to get Pyramids on dvd. Since I moved my workout room upstairs and have only a dvd player I would have to take my equipment back downstairs to do Pyramids.

I ordered the Classical Stretch for Athletes, which is the one that Pennnie ( Catheite) recommended. I have never seen her tv show. Don't know if we can get it or not. What station is it on?
I do remember when I couldn't do even one pushup, but it was a struggle this morning. I can't imagine doing more than I did today. I think it was 69. Of course, not in a row!

Today is 4DS/PP shoulders and pushups. I am going to try and raise my weights today on all but the first excerse. I am working on 4.5 hours sleep again. Mahjong ran late, and I didn't get to be till midnight, and it always takes me a while to fall asleep. I did set my alarm later since its a short workout, but still... not enough sleep.:( I think I will be leaving early from Mahjong from now on, don't think I can do this again next week. Today is lunch with DH and his childhood friend who is in town! Looking forward to meeting him:)

Gin~ wow what a workout yesterday! I didn't realize by week 6 we are doing so many pushups!!:eek: I hope you had a nice dinner last night. And I'm glad you are enjoying your job. I have to deal with the screamer every wednesday afternoon:eek:!! I understand she was like this last year, and at camp. She has quite a reputation for a 3 year old!!!I am able to be with the kids, but then not make all of the decisions or take work home. I am more organized than creative and more of an indian than a chief, <-- Me too! thats why I like being the asst. in the morning. Teaching in the afternoon is only for 30-40 min, the rest is play, eat lunch and play on the playground.

Marcy~ Great job with the chin ups!! "monkey in the house" -->funny:D Did you have dance class last night? How was your first week of work? I did PUB abs after Gauntlet yesterday, I should have done them before. They require so much upper body strentgh with the pikes and roll ins on the ball!!!

having a love/hate thing going on with the pushups!!!

back to say: workout complete, I did raise all my weights except for the first round:) then I did the pushups! note: do pushups at the beginiing of the workout, much harder at the end!!;) Anyway, did over 100 pushups today!! And I'm only on week 3 day 3!! (30,22,22,20, and max-> I stopped at 30 which was my goal) so that's 124 today!! Whoo hoo! (stupid pushups:mad:) ;)LOL!!
