Good Morning Girls!

I woke up kind of achy this morning....back, right hamstring and right wrist...BLAH!:( I decided to skip all the pushups, but did PP and 4ds back and chest and then 15 min of Class. Stretch. I think all of the pushups have are too much on my wrist. I'm hoping that a few days off will help. If not, I may want to invest in some Perfect Pushups.

Hi Deanie and Marcy~Hope you guys are having a great Sunday.

Good Afternoon

today is a rest day for me and I happily rested!;)

Gin~ I hear you about the pushups being to much. After you actually do 100, even in sets, I think that's enough! I actually had tightness in my chest and couldn't figure out why, till I reallized it was from the pushups (which I didn't do today and won't tomorrow either) I hope your body feels better tomorrow!

Waves to Marcy!!

Have a good one!

Good Morning!

Today was a run, CM#2 and 15 assisted pullups. I looked at the pullup site, Deanie and tried with the resistance tube, but it didn't seem safe, so I went back to using the chair. Hopefully I got some benefit!! I am hoping to have the energy to do KM 48 min premix after school. :p
My wrist is feeling better today..yeah! BUt I think I will still lay off the pushups until next week.

Deanie~Surprised that you weren't on here first this morning. Hope you are okay! How did you do with the pullups? I'm sure great!

Marcy~How was your weekend? We missed you.

Have a great day!:D

Good Morning Gals

Today was 4DS/PP chest and back and chinups/pullups. I also added on SJP abs. I upped most of my weights, since this is the last time of the rotation for chest and back. Some weights I lowered or kept the same because of my shoulder. I am thinking of taking a week or a few days off next week. I'll have to see how I feel next monday.

I am excited we have a tentitive date for the release of sts :D

stats:
chinups: 4
assisted pullups with band: 5 ( I really felt these so much more with the band assisting me)
4DS
round 1:
1 arm row warmup: 15#
1 arm rows: 37.5
pushups: done
1 arm rows: 37.5 (could have done 40# but was worried about my left shoulder/back)
pushups: done
round 2
bb underhand grip: 82.5#
incline db flys: 31.25
kept these weights for both sets
round 3
1 arm rows: elbow out:30#
pushups: decline: done
round 4
incline pullover: this is the exercise I hurt my shoulder on so I dropped from 30# to 15#
incline press: 70#
round 5: done
for PP I used 20# for the flys and press on the ball and did the rows only, because I did my second set of chins/pulls for the back work instead of the "fonz" move.
chinups: 4
assisted pullups: 5 (the last one was HARD!!)

I really like this rotation, but I think I need some more cardio. Don't know if its TTOM (coming soon) or the less cardio, but the way I fit in my jeans today, I'm thinking more cardio is needed... so I will be doing PP legs only 3X premix and treadmill run on Sat.

Gin~ Glad you started us off today! I wanted to have the time to write all this down, and I knew it wouldn;'t happen till the boys were in school.;) 15 assisted pullups is great!! I would lay off the pushups too if they are bothering your wrist. I;'ve been reading on other threads about the challenge that alot of women are having the same issues. More power to you for working out at night!!! Have fun with KM!

Marcy~ I hope you had a wonderful weekend. missed you!! What's on tap for today?

Have a great day gals!

Good Morning Ladies!

Today was Squeeze again (my last of the rotation). Had a good workout. Used 3# for almost everything. Used 8# for biceps and 5# for what she calls more a posture exercise. Still had to take a couple of short breaks in between but arm work isn't as bad as it used to be. I only did one chinup. I forgot to do them before my workout and think I was just too tired at the end.

I just saw they're coming out with a new Squeeze which will go on my wish list but probably won't be buying for awhile. I think I plan on ordering Yoga Radiance and PY4H2: Surfer's Edition with Eoin Finn. I don't think I'm getting these in a trade and I will get free shipping from Amazon. I've been pretty good and haven't ordered anything since early July. I have many things on my wish list but I'm going to try and be cautious.

Did you guys read the blog that STS is supposed shipping by Christmas?!!

Deanie - After two weeks at my job, I'm very happy. People are very nice and it's actually not too busy (which means I have time to post like right now!) Good luck with your pullup program. I think I might have posted it. I'm not doing the exact program but I did try to do pullups or chinups almost every day this month. Like I said above, I would try chins/pulls BEFORE your workout so you have as much strength as possible to do them. I agree with Gin - You're like the energizer bunny with pushups - you keep going and going and going...!!:D

Gin - Congrats on getting the Pyramids! Not my favorite as you know, but it's worth it for me just for the stability ball legs, ab workout and stretches.
Glad to hear your mom has power again. You must really be enjoying Classical Stretch. Is it a lot different from Stretch Max?

Have a great day! Will BBL.

Hi Again!

Forgot to post my weekend workouts:

Sat - 3 chinups!!! and East Coast Swing lessons
Sun - 2 3/4 chinups; 1 close grip pullup and another chinup plus West Coast Swing Lessons

Gin - Reminder - DWTS tonight! They added four new dances this year:

West Coast Swing - which I've been doing for the last few month and loving it;

Jitterbug - East Coast Swing came from this and is also a lot of fun;

Salsa - Also did for the last few weeks; and

I forgot the fourth! They also have to do two dances to start instead of one. I think it should be a great season!

Tippy Tuesday

Good Morning

Today was HCE#2 with out the KM drills at the end. (ran out of time, but mostly wasn't in the mood) It got to be a pain to keep adjusting the step from 6" to 8" so after the first 2 blasts, I kept it at 8".... I was soaked by the end of the workout!!!:p (sorry if TMI ;))

Gin/Marcy ~ I hope you enjoyed DWTS last night

Gin~ did you get your workout in? The more I think about it, the more I am thinking of taking next week off as a rest week. Maybe doing some light workouts, pilates, or yoga. I think after heavy lifting, I need to.

Marcy~ I'm glad you are enjoying your new job. :) :D WTG with your chinups!!! I am taking your advise, and doing the chinups/pullups tomorrow first!! I just have to break them up into 2 sets. There is NO WAY I can do 10 consecutive chinups/pullups. In fact, I was supposed to do 5 chins (2 sets) and I only eeked out 2 sets of 4!! Maybe I will start this week with 5 of each and do next week with 10 of each... that may be a more reasonable goal.... Actually I'm just supposed to do pullups, so why am I worryinig about the chins.??:eek:Do you think I should just forgo the chins and do the pull ups only??? You have been really good about not buying any workouts, and you are wokring now, so you should treat yourself!!;)

have a great day
I will try to BBL,

Good Morning!

Today was PP and 4ds bis and tris and then SM#3. As much as I love 4ds, after a month of it, I am ready to do something else.:) I did come home yesterday to do KM low impact timesaver. It has 2 combos and then leg drills, so NO blasts!!:D
My dad called last night to tell me that my mother was in the hospital. She woke up in the middle of the night with chest pains and my dad took her to the ER. The drs. said it was not a heart attack. They did a stress test yesterday. She has had very little energy for quite some time. I hate being 250 miles away!
We are going on a field trip today to an apple orchard..fun!
Yeah to STS by Christmas. At least now we can plan around it!:) Jan 1 sounds like a good start date.

Deanie~I was thinking about taking a week off at the end of the October. I'll think about it. I hear you about skipping the KM drills in HCE!! It is enough of a workout without the KM drills!!:p

Marcy~Did you watch DWTS last night? My favs were Brooke, Toni, Cody and Lance. Several were pretty bad, I thought and Jeff should be the first to go. Did you think that Cheryl Burke had put on some weight or was it just my tv?
Classical Stretch is more intense than SM and the segments are longer.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies!

Today was CIA 2805 - Amy's All Cardio Hi/Lo Knockout. I would say this is more hi/lo and less kickboxing whereas In The Ring is a kickbox workout with medicine ball intervals. I got through the warmup, 1st combo and 1st knockout okay. I started t modify on the second combo. The second knockout was her form of mountain climbers. Then she combined combos and knockouts 1 and 2. I really modified on this and didn't do knockout 2 here at all. I walked through the hi impact moves in combo 3 but did all of knockout 3. Didn't do combo or knockout 4. I did the weighted core section which was good. 1st move was rotating around your body with the weight (like Cathe does in SM2 at the end with the ball) and then a balance to one side. She also did a modified turkish get up with a side plank. There were a couple of other moves which were good but can't explain well here. I also did 2 chins this morning.

Last night I did a set of 3 chins and a set of 2 chins. I also did Dancing Sun from Namaste Yoga. Sometimes I like doing these at night.

Deanie - Pullups are easier than chinups which is probably why I do them more. You use your biceps and back in chins whereas with pullups, you're just using your back. I guess do whatever you want more of an emphasis on but if it doesn't matter, do both.

Great workout doing most on 8". No wonder you were soaked!

Since you said it was okay (and I don't need much encouragement), I'm going to order Yoga Radiance and PY4H2. PY4H2 has 7 practices on it and Yoga Radiance is separated into the seasons which are about 15 mins. each and one lunar sequence which is 25 mins. 50 mins. is a good practice without it taking too long.

I think I might take a week and just do some new workouts and maybe a little extra yoga.

Gin - I hope your mother is okay. Glad to hear it wasn't a heart attack. When will they know what's wrong with her?

Have fun apple picking!

My faves on DWTS were Brooke, Toni, Lance, Misty, Kim and Warren. Warren's reminding me a little bit of Emmitt who won on Season 3. Cloris Leachman as a riot. I hope she stays on a little more. I thought she did pretty good for 82 years old. I was a little disappointed with Susan Lucci. She looked too stiff and like Carrie said, could probably put on a few pounds. But I think she'll probably look better tonight in the Fox Trot. I think Jeffrey's probably going to go tonight and maybe Rocco will go tomorrow (although he does have a nice personality). Do you remember Lacey's the one from So You Think You Can Dance. My dance teacher knows her father quite well.

Good to know CS is more intense than SM. That's what I need.

Have a great day!

Hi Girls!

Posting late here on Tuesday.
I just talked to my mom. She is feeling fine, the drs don't know what caused the chest pains, but said she could go home tonight. Only she came to hospital in her nightgown and robe so will have to wait until tomorrow when my dad comes back to bring her clothes! Anyway, she sounds good and thank you for asking.
Did I tell you guys that my DH did PART of 4ds legs with me last week? He did about 1/2 of the calf raises and then complained about sore calves for 3 days and blamed me for it ,of course!!!

Have a good evening!:)

Good Morning Gals

Today was 4DS/PP bi and tri and pullups. I did 2 sets of 5 pullups first, then my weight work. I am definately taking next week as a recovery week. My shoulder is not better (maybe a little, but not much) and I think a week off would help. I also am not going to do shoulders this week, instead I am going to do the treadmill.

stats:
pullups: 10 assisted
round one:
overhead extensions: 20,25,30,35
standing db curls: 13.25,14.5,16.25,21.25
round 2:
lying bb extension: 37.5
lying db extension: 12
bb crazy 8's: can't get passed 35#!!! But it was easier this week....
reverse curls: 13.25
round 3:
incline hammer curls: 16.25
double arm hammer curls: 16.25
round 4:
concentration curls: 21.25 (really worked on form)
wrist curls: 10#

pushpull:
bicep work with 12#
tricep kickbacks with 10#

Gin~ Glad to hear your mom is coming home today:) I wonder what it was???? did you have fun at apple picking?

Marcy~ your workout yesterday sounds fun. Great job with the chinups!!:)

DS12's first softball game is today, away, I hope I get to see it. DH will be going, but I need to be home to get my DS8 from the bus and to hebrew school. The game is 20 min. away, so I am hoping after I drop off the little guy at school to head out there. :)

Have a great day !!!

Good Morning Girls!

I WAS going to do Term. Viper and KPC abs, but will take a rest day instead. I slept about 2-3 hours last night b/c I had a headache (as usual!!)but took my med too late in the day and since it has caffeine, I knew I would have trouble sleeping!!
Today is my early day at school and the teacher is out. She has a sub, but I will be the lead teacher.

Deanie~Great workout today! Sorry about your shoulder. I may take a semi-rest week or do a week of Timesaver.
Hope you are able to make DS's first softball game! Did I tell you that my ds21 is taking Hebrew in college? This is his 2nd year and he is enjoying it.
Apple picking was fun, just hot. I brought home some apple butter for DH.
My mother said the drs didn't know what caused the chest pains.

Marcy~Did you watch DWTS last night? Most looked better overall. It is hard for me to watch 2 hours. I have to get up or get phone calls, etc and miss parts of it. Wish I had dvr or tivo.

Have a great day!

Good Afternoon

Gin~ I like the idea of timesaver for a week. If my shoulder feels better, I may do that!! I've had the dvd for over 2 years, and I've never done it! Sorry about your lack of sleep and your headache!!! I hope you had fun being the lead teacher today :) Maybe your DS21 can tutor my DS12 at hebrew!! LOL My DS12 hates going to hebrew after being in regular school all day. (so he is soooo happy :) not to be there today!!**hee hee** Ironically, my younger DS likes it (he has alot of friends in his class ;))

Hey Marcy!! Where are you chicka??

Good Afternoon!

This morning was Pure Barre. A great workout as always. My legs are still quivering away but gets a little less each time. I also did a set of 2 chins and a set of 3 chins.

Gin - Glad to hear your mom's going home. Funny about DH! At least you get him to work out with you. Do you think he'll try any other Cathe workouts? Everyone was so much better on DWTS last night, especially Rocco and Susan. Cloris is a hoot. I hope she doesn't get voted off yet. She might have a big fan base though. My faves are still the same. Glad you had a good time apple picking. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have TIVO. Probably not get to watch too much. Sorry you had a sleepless night. Have you given up on the doctors?

Deanie - Great workout! You will get past 35# for bbl curls. Some moves just take longer than others to get there. I also took Hebrew in junior high. I can still count to 10 and say "excuse me, miss" and read it but that's about it. I think a rest week is a great idea. I hope you get to see DS's softball game.

Have a good evening!

Marcy

Thursday

Good Morning :)

Off to do SJP cardio only and abs. My shoulder was fine all day yesterday, and then at night started bothering me again! Also, by the time I could get to see my son play softball, the game was almost over and DH said by the time I got there the game would be over. My DS played amazing though, got a hit everytime up, and made some amazing plays :)!! I'm glad DH was there to cheer him on!! And I will be able to go to all the other games :D

Gin~ I hope you were headache free yesterday and enjoyed your day.

Marcy~ You are really rockin' on the chins!! By the time STS gets here, you will be able to do 12 in a row like Cathe!!!:)

Okay, enough stalling, ;) Off to workout!! :)

Good Morning Girls!

Today I did KPC abs and then Term. Viper cardio only. I love that one.....C&W step and IMAX2 4 combos and blasts.....perfect for me and the time flew by!:D
I went to bed at 7 last night. I was so tired and felt so crummy. I am going to make an appt with a neurologist in Dallas about my headaches. I have gone to every dr here with no help!
We are going to see ds21 this weekend. He told me I could have his set of perfect pushups. The hotel were we stay has a great gym so I'll do shoulders and legs there on Sat.

Deanie~Hope your shoulder feels better soon. Sorry you missed ds's softball game, but glad you will make the rest. Enjoy SJP cardio.

Marcy~I missed SWTS last night. Who was voted off? I seriously doubt DH will try any other Cathe workouts. He was very reluctant to do the 10 min. of legs that he did!! He prefers a gym, but then his membership is about to run out. Yeah to the chins!!

Good Morning Ladies!

Today I did the Hip Opening Flow (77 mins.) from Shiva Rea's Fluid Power. Haven't done that one in a while. Definitely opened my hips. I'm almost back to a full horizontal splits. Verticals are no problem. Been doing them a lot, especially with Squeeze and Pure Barre. There was a handstand series in this one which I did against the wall and was able to push into the air and hold for a couple of seconds. She did handstands with legs up, straddled and in lotus. Had to come down a couple of times. Takes a lot of strength to stay up there even against the wall. Also, it's TTOM and this morning didn't have lots of strength. Also fell apart a little in the backbending vinyasa. Got through most of it but there's one part where she's getting in and out of the backbends moving her arm through somehow and again, I felt like all the strength was sapped out of me. Otherwise, a good practice.

Deanie - It only took me over almost 2 years to do 3 chins in a row - 12 might take me another 9 years! But thanks for the vote of confidence. Sorry you didn't get to see DS play softball but sounds like he had a great game and at least DH was there to root him on. Any better with the screamer yesterday?

Gin - I actually didn't get through the whole show this morning but I heard Ted McGinley was voted off. He was better the 2nd night but the first night I didn't think he did well at all and was surprised by the judges had such great comments for him. Cloris probably should have gone but I think people are just so entertained by her they kept her on. Sounds like you had a really fun workout. C&W is really good but I guess because it's circuit, I don't do it that much. Note to self: be careful about buying circuit workouts. Never get to do them. Although I loved Patrick's Hard Work Conditioning. More of a total body workout with just a few blasts in between. I don't think as much cardio as Cathe's but just enough to keep the heart rate up throughout. I've heard people are very happy with the perfect pushups, that they work well and have no wrist issues with their pushups. Good luck with them.

Maybe DH will like STS when you get it. At least there are guys in that one and it looks like it has more of a "gym" feeling to it.

Sorry you had such a rotton night. I hope you have better luck with the neurologist in Dallas.

Have a great day!

Marcy

Hi Again!

Forgot to mention I did 2 3/4 more chins last night for a total of 7 3/4 chins yesterday.:D But sadly, none this morning.:(

Deanie - Maybe I'll get to 12 in STS but not in a row like Cathe does. I wonder if they're easier or harder from a sitting position.

Marcy
