LET'S GET INSANE - Thurs, 8/13

Good Morning Y'All!!!!

CR done and it was just perfect. I know this is not the most popular workout/stretch of the series, but to me it just really stretches all the right places.

Nico - I'm sorry to hear about your frustration with results. I'm in week 4 and have lost 3 lbs, but my diet has been been the same (good, but not perfect). I'm tighter all over (mostly core) and my upper body is leaner and my legs are stronger (I like squat pulses now). I'm going to attempt to follow the Insanity nutrition plan for the 2nd month, not necessarily to lose weight, but just to keep up the energy for the program. Also, my cardio capacity has greatly improved and I'm excited to take these results onto other workouts. DH is also in week 4 and has lost 9 lbs. He has cut out the extra treats (dessert). :)

Brenda - Great results!! :D

Sandra - I'm loving these shorter workouts also!! I'm used to working out at least an hour to an hour and 1/2 in the mornings before work and now I've had some extra time to slow down and of course, post here :p:p

Sorry if I don't get to personally address each one of you in my posts, but I hope everyone is doing well and has a great day

Today was CPR for me (W3D5). I was a little sore across the chest (maybe tight is a better definition) after push - pull yesterday. I hadn't used weights for chest for about a month now and I felt it this morning (in a good way :D)

Brenda, Thanks for the tip on Cardio Abs. I'll try it that way. I find my hip flexors are usually very tight and I struggle. I thought the workout would warm them up, but that does not appear to be the case.

Becky, Thanks. Yes $13 for shipping is steep. I'll see if I can get them through my coach for less shipping... I sure things are rather hectic remember to take just a little time to do something fun with your girls before you send them off.

Sandra, I love your attitude, yes it's only 25 min of actual cardio... :D

Jennifer, I know what you mean about CR this is the first week I didn't do it and should have added a longer stretch after Push-Pull.

Good Morning Everyone!

Today was supposed to be CR but I did ASC 3 instead and CTX Back. I had PT last night and after some stretching last night I feel really loose. I will do CR on Sunday.

Nico, sorry you haven't seen any weight loss. I am in my second week and I am starting to shed some weight. My first week was split because of a stomach virus and I did not cut calories since I knew my body needed it to recover from the virus.
Jennifer, I agree CR stretches you in the right places. I will probably need it by Sunday.
Sandra, I have the same attitude - only 25 minutes of cardio so I can keep pushing.
Brenda, good suggestion on doing cardio abs first. I am doing both on Saturday and I might give it a try.
Have a great day everyone!

Hi guys. Haven't been posting as i haven't done any insanity workouts in a week now. My shoulder has been really acting up, my hips have been really stiff, and i just have been feeling achy all over. So i've decided to do something i have never done before. i'm doing a strictly cardio and yoga rotation to give my body a break. for years i have lifted weights and done HIIT cardio/intervals and i just feel now that its 10yrs later, my body needs some down time/less intense workouts. So this will be my last post on here for a while but i will always be reading and checking up on you guys. I just got BB 10 min trainer so i will do very minimal strength workouts with these. my workouts will be as followed:
monday: 30 min cardio, 45 min power yoga
tuesday: 45 min cardio, one or two 10 min trainer workouts
wednesay: same as monday
thursday: same as tues
friday: same as mon and wed
sat and sun: off

So i wish you guys all the luck with insanity and i will be looking forward to reading about your results. I figured i should just tone it down before i'm put on the sidelines for a major shoulder blowout.

Colleen,
What is ASC3?

kariev, I'm sorry to hear your shoulder is acting up. :( Please do stop by and check in with us even if you're not doing Insanity.

Kariev: I am sorry to hear about your shoulders and hips. I think your new workout routine is just what you need. Power yoga will definitely help your issues. You are a very smart lady to listen to your body and adjust accordingly.

Today i did Plyometric cardio circuit and added P90X back and biceps on the end. This is the last workout in month 1!! Tomorrow I will teach advanced step and sculpt and have my rest day on Saturday. During rest week I will be alternating between the Insanity workout and a 90minute Power yoga routine. I am so looking forward to the rest week!!

Happy exercising
Brenda

Good evening Ya'll!

Today was PCC for me, and STS Disc 18: Biceps. This was my 3rd time with PCC, and I'm adjusting to the intensity of it. In fact, after doing Pure Cardio a couple of times, where each drill is a full 60 secs, and there are no rests, PCC doesn't feel so bad! It's all relative, isn't it? I think I'm going to be ready for the longer Month 2 workouts, both mentally and physically.

Brenda - HIGH FIVE for completing Month 1!!! Do you have a great sense of accomplishment?

Ffte - ASC3 is a step workout by Amy Bento: Advanced Step Challenge 3. Push/Pull is so much fun, isn't it?

Kariev - You're a smart lady for listening to your body. All that yoga is going to do wonders for you! I hope your shoulder holds up from all the down dogs in the yoga. I have the 10MT series. They're very good, for only 10mins at a shot. I like how you plan to use them! Drop by and let us know how you're doing.

Trixie42 - My top 3 fav step workouts are: 1. Step Blast, 2. ASC2, and 3. ASC3. When I finish Insanity, I'm pretty sure those will be the first 3 step workouts I pull off the shelf!

HaveFun - You're almost finished Month 1! Woohoo!! Now that Shaun's gotten us used to shorter workouts, Month 2 is going to be a whole new adjustment again.

So, did any of you Insanitators do Cathe's wicked August rotation she put out about, hm, 2 years ago now? It was crazy-intense cardio. I can't remember what she called it. What I DO remember is that one day called for people to do her original Bootcamp workout (from the Intensity Series), TWICE! Oh, it was fun reading the forums that month! It was a rotation that went super-heavy on the cardio, and I don't think there was a workout shorter than 90mins. It never appealed to me before doing Insanity, but now I'm getting a bit cocky and thinking it might be the way to go after Insanity. Quick! Someone talk me down from this Foolish Tree!

Friday morning I'll be doing STS Disc 18: Back, and Cardio Recovery. Looks like a great day to me!

Cheers!
Sandra
