Hi All....Yippee we are finished filming!!!! Everything was great! Now we are editing and going through the photo's to post online. I'd love to do a chat with everyone tomorrow since it's been ages since we've connected. If your around, join me here tomorrow at 1:30pm eastern time to talk about the filming of the last two DVD’s

I hope to see you :D

Would you please let us know what equipment is needed for the new programs? The program descriptions call for "basic fitness equipment" and it is unclear what that includes. Also, I wonder what tabatta drills (mentioned in a recent posting) are.
Thanks.

Cathe, I am just so excited for these new DVD's!!! Thanks for all of your hard work!!! We all love you! :)

Hi Cathe, The new workouts sound great! Are people with creaky knees going to be able to keep up? I'm hoping there are modifications for the really high impact moves. You "spoiled us" with the LIS workouts. You do a great job!

Hi Cathe

I am looking forward to seeing your latest creations!

One quick question - compound moves tend to be shoulder intensive. To preserve my shoulders I always have to lighten the weight, but then I feel less of the intended Tabata or metabolic effect.

What kind of shoulder compound moves are in the new set?

Thx
:D

Sure :)

To the Max uses a step with the ability to go to 10 inches. Plus hand weights, a firewalker band, slide and glide discs and various weighted dumbbells. We do not use anything higher than 15 pounds in fact we only use 15 pounds one time. Most of the time the handweights are between 8 and 12 pounds.

Hi Cathe -

So incredibly excited for the new workouts!

Can you tell us a bit about the music you're using in the workouts? Also, I know there will e premises, but in enteral, how long is each workout (I realize you're not done editing and it could change, but what have you planned for?)

Thanks!

Hi Janis! Yes, I agree, compound moves are mostly shoulder intensive because bringing the arms away from the center of the body while firing the legs simultaneously most of the time gives you the most bang for your buck metabolically.

If you are wanting the metabolic effect then go slower and heavier rather than lighter and at tempo.

I only have one shoulder press/bicep curl compund move for the shoulders. I also have a side plank snatch move for rear delts and shoulders later after the heart rate has lowered.

Enjoy the new workouts!

Okay, what I MEANT to type before auto correct got hold of it, was that I know there will be premixes, but in general how long do you expect the workouts to be?

Thanks!

Thank you, very very much, for the advice above.

And I can't wait to see the side plank snatch you describe. I am a side plank junkie!

All the best to you and yours.

Thank you! Is anything else special needed in the way of equipment for Crossfire?

I understand that high-impact moves are part of these workouts, with modifications provided. Did a member of your crew demonstrate a low-impact alternative for every high-impact move (I know that's difficult to plan and accomplish during filming)? I like your Intensity workout, but I can't do the high-impact segments without using an ice bag on my knees afterwards. That limits the usefulness of that workout for me because I have to skip large portions. Ideally, the two new workouts will demonstrate low-impact alternatives throughout the entire workout. If that was not possible, I understand. I'd just like to know what to expect so I am not disappointed. I love the Low Impact Series!

Hi Exercsie Lover! I do show modifications but not to the extent of making the workout entirely low impact (which I know you didn't ask for). I'm already working on putting together a segment on Cathe TV to demonstrate all modifications so that you can find the best move to maintain the highest possible heartrate while working out to these DVD's.

These workouts have a lot of plyometric movements in them which can be modified simply but just not jumping as high

I guess I have another question. Your workouts are so consistently excellent, yet you're really prolific (and we're the lucky beneficiaries!). But how do you do it? How long does it take from first idea to filming? For example, I know you've said you'll do more spin DVDs...do you have ideas swimming around In your head for those right now? Or do you wait until the opportunity is there, then start developing it? I'm not sure I'm asking this question very well, I'm just curious about your creative process.

Thanks!

The workouts should come in somewhere around 50 to 53 minutes. We still have to finish editing to know that for sure.

Hi Trixoo!

Thank you so much for you special words.

As far as new DVD content and the creative process goes, sometimes I have an idea that is so swollen with content that I can't wait to film it. Other times I have the idea but it still needs something. I like to make my workouts reflect that of what the current fitness trends are but still remain true to my signature style in the process. If an idea is overflowing in my head I can film/be prepared for a new DVD within a week of talking about it. But generally it takes two to four months from an idea in my brain to standing on the set with the cast trained and ready.

Hi Committed to Fitness!

No, I do not have a modifier doing the workout with us and demonstrating every high impact move in a low impact format. I just mention things to do to make the workout more comfortable. I also have a low impact tabatta workout bonus filmed to help accomodate those who want to do a tabatta inspired segment without the jumping. I also plan on filming a segment on Cathe TV demonstrating low impact options for these two tapes :)
