Les Mills Combat and Les Mills Pump?

I saw that these two programs are now on sale at Beachbody. Does anyone have these? I don't think I'd be interested in Pump, but Combat is kickboxing/martial arts which I love. Just wondering if it would be worth the investment. Reviews, anyone?

That's interesting that they just went on sale. I rediscovered Ebay recently and just purchased two Les Mills Combat base kits for $30 each. I got one for my daughter and one for me. I also found Tapout XT 1 & 2 cheap on Ebay. And they are all in great condition. In fact, some of them were brand new! I haven't tried any of them yet, but I plan to--after Ripped with HIIT probably. I did look for Pump on Ebay but could not find it cheap at all (same with Focus T25 and P90X3--even on Ebay those are expensive). I'll have to check out the Pump sale.

I just went and checked out Beachbody and Les Mills Pump is not on sale. They say you can try it for 30 days for $14.95 (but at the checkout that is jacked up to $29.90)--if you like it? 3 more $60 payments! So a total of $210. No sale there.

I bought Combat a few months ago. I have previewed a couple of the workouts. I have not tried any of them. Wanted to finish Body Beast, then give combat a go. What I saw looked good to me. Basically cardio kickboxing.

I think if you go through a coach's Beachbody page, that's where the sale prices are listed. I see that Pump is originally $165.85 and on sale for $99.99. Combat is originally $59.85 and on sale for $35.95. Combat says you get free gloves with the base kit but don't know what kind. Soooo tempted on the Combat at that price. I wouldn't want to do it exclusively as a long rotation, but just having more kickboxing for cardio is hard to resist.

May I ask what you mean by "a coach's Beachbody page"? Do you mean something like total fitness dvds website?

I bought Combat a few month ago when Beachbody had it on sale. I did the 2 Hiit workouts, really liked them. Need to give the other ones a whirl soon.

Firemedic, I think Mary at Total Fitness is a coach so you may be able to get the sale price through her. I know someone on FB who is a Beachbody coach and she sent me a link to her own Beachbody page which had the sale prices on it. Hope that helps!

Go to teambeachbody.com. At the top of the page, click on Shop. From that page, click on Fitness Program on the left hand side of the page. From the drop down list, choose either Pump or Combat to look at. The sale prices are listed there.

I purchased Combat on sale (love it) last week from Mary and have done the first two workouts. I'm in LOVE! The music is great with a "pump it up" option. The workout times vary from 30 min, 45 min., to 1 hour which is a nice feature. The two I've done have been fun and effective. I wear weighted gloves with them, and my heart rate gets up and sweat pours. The instructors are funny but offer good direction and great form. I really worked my core on the first two. One thing I look for in kb workouts is how much they move the feet -- pet peeve of mine when they just stand and punch. Happy to report there is very little of just standing there. The feet are moving almost constantly with shuffles, cross jacks, kicks of all kinds (keeps the heart rate up). Like it that there is a modifier if you want lower impact. Hope the rest of the set is as good as the first two workouts. Two negatives: 1. The gloves that come with the Basic set are really more of a "prop." I use my Cathe weighted gloves. 2. The packaging is just cardboard. I always feel this can scratch the DVDs. I have put mine in a different case (Cathe spoils us with the great DVD cases) Otherwise, I really like what I see so far.

Hi,

I have this set and its awesome. I got it and the extra dvds when the set first came out as a pre-order. It is great and very addictive and one set I keep coming back to.

Good luck and enjoy!

Nora, I only bought the basic set but I notice there's two more DVDs available (Ultimate Warrior with 4 workouts -- Core Attack, Inner Warrior, Warrior 1: Upper Body, and Warrior 2: Lower Body). Just curious if you could comment on those in particular. I am trying to decide if I "need" them too. Thanks.

Yes, In this set it is worth it in my opinion to get the other two dvd's. I found I do use them alot. I love the variety and the the Core workout was awesome, Leg workout and upper body both great. The stretch one is da bomb, I love that one and I don't like yoga stuff or stretching, but this one is unique and has a martial arts flavor to it and most of it is standing. These are all awesome workouts and a great must have in my opnion complements to the basic set. I still use them and love them. I personally think Les Mills Combat is one of the best cardio programs I've ever purchased from Beach Body. In fact, of the BB programs I absolutely love I'd have to say Combat, TF, are my number 1 and 2 BB choices for cardio. Number one choice for strength is Body Beast, and number 2 is Pump, and for stretch and strengthen Combat Stretch and #2 is Piyo. Love all these programs. Other I have but not loved is Insanity, P90X, P90X+. I still have not tried Asylum #1 yet. So yes, I'd recommend the extra two Combat Dvds purchase if you are already loving combat you'll enjoy those just as much. Enjoy your combat experience and let me know what you think.

Good luck with your fitness journey and may you reach your goals:);)
