legs getting bigger?

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I seem to carry my weight in my leg area, so I began to do lunges, squats, using the smith machine and every other machine at the gym to try to slim them down, and the total opposite ended up happening. My pants ended up getting tighter around my upper thigh and butt area, so I decreased my leg workout to only 1x a week, and I do very minimal workout for my legs, and my pants are now again baggy in that area. I didn't change my diet, cardio, etc. Does anyone else have this problem, or any suggestions becuase I would like them slimmer than what they are now.

Similar problem

Hi, Lori! I recently went about a month and a half with no cardio allowed at all due to an injury. To keep up with my workouts, I started doing an upper/lower body split that had me working upper and lower body each 3 times a week. My jeans started getting much more snug than I was comfortable with. As soon as I cut back to just 2 each per week, my jeans loosened up again. I think that everyone's body responds differently to weights. You may find that you get your best results with a lower weight, higher repition plan. You may do best with heavy weights, but only working once a week. I like to mix things up a lot to avoid boredom, but my ideal results come when I'm using the PS workouts. Don't be afraid to experiment a bit and figure out what works for you. :) Good luck!

wow, sounds like you have the same body type as me. My legs got bigger with weight training also. I am just doing floor work without weights and lots of cardio. Makes a differance and women can bulk up!

I'm so glad that Im not the only that has that problem, if you get the chance,I posted this under ask cathe also, and she gave a great reply.
