Legs and Glutes

Hmmm, I thought, a workout with no weight heavier than a 15 lb dumbell. TOO EASY! HA HA! Just call me jello legs right now! When she got to the second set of those "explosive lunges" I thought I would never be able to walk again. I do have a question, how often should I do a "heavy weight" vid vs. one like that?

As long as you vary your workout, I don't think there are any hard and fast rules on HOW you vary them. And of course, it depends on your individual needs, genes, DVD collection and such. Just try different things and see what you think! I do Legs and Glutes a couple times a month.

Susan,
I did Legs and Glutes last night, and am feeling it too! It's a great workout (even though I skp the explosive lunges!!!)

usually i put a few days between this and a heavy weight workout like PLB or something i would do on my own with heavy barbells. i LOVE LOVE this workout and can't wait to get on dvd. and following with outer thigh presses with ankle weights really puts a burn in my glutes as well. here's to jello legs.

I don't consider any standing leg workout to be a heavy weight workout because I couldn't possibly lift a heavy enough barbell onto my shoulders to tax my legs like they do when I use the machines at the gym. That said, I do find there are enough different types of exercises offered in Cathe's workouts to get my legs in great shape without having to resort to the machines at the gym. I esp. enjoy the premixes in the Legs and Glutes/KPC DVD. IMO, If they don't get your legs into shape, nothing will!
