Legs And Glutes

I did LG for the first time yesterday and the DOMS I have today feels like I worked muscles that were previously dormant!

One of the reasons could be because I am such a dork that when Cathe put on her ankle weight she didn't mention how heavy it was. I have 5 lb and 2 lb weights. I thought "Oh, that looks like 5 lbs she's using." While I was doing that portion of the workout I was saying "Holy moly, I'm dying here!"

Well, when she got done with the standing portion she mentioned how hard it was with an extra 2 lbs on her ankle. I was relieved and immediately switched to my 1 1b weights.

I don't think I've ever seen 2lb ankle weights in the store....

LG is tough! I have it on the schedule today and I'm really kind of dreading it since I know my legs will be sore tomorrow...and probably the next day too!

I made the same mistake with the ankle weights the 1st time I did LG - I think I only had 4lbs on though and I could only do half the sets, I can't imagine using 5lbs!

I have ankle weights that are weight adjustable, they have pockets for the individual iron rods (each rod is a lb.)
 
yes...L&G can definitely reach dormant muscles!! I have worked up to 5 lbs, but it is a killer..I have some Reebok ankle weights that are adjustable in one lb increments, so you can go 1 to 5 lbs each leg. I really like the standing leg extensions myself...}( ...Carole
 
I use 5 pound ankle weights in this w/o, however, I did start with 2 pounds. My favorite exercise are the Outer Thigh Leg Press on high step with ankle weights.

That is my least favorite move in the whole workout and I can't explain why! I also really despise the outer thigh and glute sweeps at the end, but at that point I know I am almost done, so I can tolerate them!

This is a great overall leg workout! It targets some of the muscles differently than Cathe's previous leg workouts!

Love L&G. It is the perfect leg workout to enhance my running and it doesn't hurt my knees. I often use just the 20 minute ankle weight pre-mix. I have Nike 2.5 lb. ankle weights. They are extremely comfortable.
