last 15/20 pounds...or so (long!)

I have been faithfully doing Cathe workouts at 6:00 each morning since the end of August. I only take a day or two off once a week (or less). I have been listening to my body and taking a day off when I need it. I started at about 150 pounds (probably more) and am down to about 135. My tops are all fitting great--even too big. My pants are loose around the hips and thighs.

My problem is my stomach. I have been eating several small meals per day (power bar for breakfast, soup for lunch and chicken or pasta for dinner...power bars during the day if I feel hungry). My stomach is still measuring at about 32 inches (it was about 36"). The fat there is what I call "funny fat". It is blubbery, with no substance, but still in the way of clothes fitting comfortably (and maybe dropping a size??!). The 10s at Old Navy were falling off the other day, but the 8s were tight.

Do I just need to keep on going and be patient? I am doing a cardio every other day and a weight workout every other day (heavy weights, whole body, etc.). I am looking to wow my husband's family when we get together on the 26th! (I also had a breast reduction surgery on June 26, so am loving how I can workout better/harder than before without the extra on top!!)

I had huge results in the beginning, but have kind of hit a plateau. I have Cathe's workouts from FitTV, and have ordered the entire Hardcore series (can't wait!!)

First of all, congratulations on your success. You should be very proud of your discipline & hard work!

Second, I would suggest trying a low carb diet. Forget about power bars & pasta, try meats & veggies. Not everyone's crazy about it but it's really worked for me. You could probably drop 5 lbs by the 26th, & I bet you could lose the last 15 by the end of January.

Thanks for your reply! When you say go low carb, could you give me some tips? Also some food suggestions? I really don't like fruits or vegetables. I am more of a carb addict!! I have tried staying with 50 carbs a day and have lost a few pounds in a few days. That was with a food journal (very effective!)

Any suggestions would be helpful!

Hi! Congrats on the weight loss so far. I, too, am in a similar boat in that I want to lose about 15-20 lbs or at least more inches. I am interested in seeing some of tne replies you receive.

For me, one thing that I have done to mix things up and maybe start helping me some, is to follow rotations designed by Cathe. Before this month, I was making up my own mainly incorporating only workouts that I like the most, including 3-5 days cardio, 2-4 days strength, but I think that was hurting me. I was doing the same workouts over and over. I have now decided to leave it up to the expert (Cathe) and hope to see some more results soon.

Good luck with your goals!:)

Thanks, Melissa! I am the same way with my workouts lately! I keep doing the same 4 or 5 workouts. I read your post last night and this morning did BootCamp, which I have not done for about a month! I even kept up (almost!!)! I can feel it everywhere right now (the good tired, though!)! Thanks for the motivation to shake it up a bit! I will definitely follow the recommended rotations for Hardcore when we get it!

I thought about low carb for breakfast, but MUST have toast with eggs, so what do you eat??!!

Congratulations on your weight loss. I think that is fantastic. It sounds like you are doing all of the right things. I would keep your workout schedule the same, just continue to mix and match so you don't settle into a rut. You might also just want to add a brisk walk at lunch or in the evenings one or two days a week to up your calorie burn.

As for your diet, try increasing your calories a couple of times a week using more low-fat forms of protein (cottage cheese, low-fat cheese, fish, etc.) as well as adding in yogurt, fruits and veggies (there must be some that you like.) Calorie-staggering has done wonders for some people on this board.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Well, I can tell you what I eat. Usually I have a light breakfast, like a couple of hardboiled eggs. Sometimes if I'm actually ahead of schedule in the morning I'll have bacon & sausage too.

Lunch is my biggest meal of the day. I'm lucky enough to live near a bunch of really good restaurants, so I'll get some kind of giant salad. Pretty much all meats & cheeses are zero carb, so I'll have a chef's salad or something similar (one deli near me makes a double cheeseburger salad--zero carbs & very yummy!).

Dinner is medium sized, usually a meat & veggie.

Don't worry about not liking fruits--you have to stay away from them anyway, they're full of natural sugars & very high carb. Basically what you have to avoid are all sugars, breads & pastas.

Good luck!
