We are going to Las Vegas at the end of Sept. for a class my dh is taking for work. I am going along and my parents are watching the boys for us. This will probably be my last trip out there because my parents don't think they can handle the boys as they get older.
So the problem being the class is being given at the Texas Station which is a local casino/hotel which offers a great rate for class participants. But we are staying 2 extra nights which aren't covered by the great rate and they don't offer a Government rate for my dh either. (note some hotels have the gov. rate some do not) If we stay there dh does not have to drive to the class (though we will have a rental car), & lunch is provided for the participants. I can go to the pool and lounge all day, or roam around the casino or take the rental car to the strip or mall or what not. Cons for staying here are the higher room rate on the days not covered by the class, we have to pay for supper ourselves( this will be explained in the next hotel described), there are no laundry facilities or workout room for me.
At hotel #2 we get laundry facilities, workout room, pool, closer to town, supper is provided by the hotel for 4 nights free to guests, and we get the govenment rate for all nights. Cons with this one is dh has to drive to the class, leaving me to walk everywhere should I want to go anywhere, of course this one has no casino but we have never stayed in a hotel with a casino any of the times we have been to Las Vegas so that really doesn't factor in except at the other hotel it would give me somewhere to go and watch people.
Dh wants me to decide where we will stay. At the 1st place I could workout in the pool. I really don't know which to choose. As much as I hate doing laundry the thought of packing all the clothes you would need for such a long trip doesn't thrill me either. The lady who is teaching the class has offered to let me go to her house and do laundry which is very nice of her,(we have become friends since the last time I was there).
The 2 extra nights are one at the beginning and one at the end.
What would you do? If you were me?
Thanks
