Laboring with Kettlebells- The Weekend Report

hey Rhonda! hope you are having a good weekend!

we were busy this morning/afternoon, so I didn't workout till the evening. Here's my workout:

30 seconds rest between all rounds!
completed workout in 21:41 minutes!!:eek::)

c&p: 30#
pullups: as prescribed (plus one extra in the 10th round)

1@135#
1@135#
1@135#

moved 10,017# today in 21ish minutes! YEAH, BABY!!!

NOTES:
**beginner level: 10 rounds -- now ready to move up to intermediate level
** had 8:18 left on gymboss (according to my notes, had 8:21 left last time, blog states something else, so not sure)
** 30 seconds rest good, but barely enough time to change plates for deadlifts, drink, chalk hands before its time to start again.
**felt my form today especially with the c&p was spot on!
**wondering if workout went so well because I did it at 5:30pm as opposed to 5:30am!!:p but I don't really care, because
I ROCKED THE WORKOUT!!!

...was going to swing Bertha, but ran out of time, gotta feed the family!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, with great weather!!!!!

Good evening!

Sorry I never got to check in yesterday. I had a great workout yesterday. I did Level 2 of 30 Day Shred, a few ab exercises and all of the leg work from Tracey Anderson's Post-Pregnancy workout and Stretch Max #1. I burned a total of 512 calories! It seems like ever since I started doing Slim Series, my HR has been really climbing, especially during strength work. It stays up but when I stop moving, it does go down quickly but it can go back up quickly too. I guess maybe Jillian's right - calorie burn is higher with all the compound moves.

30 Day Shred:
Walkout pushups - able to go much deeper in pushups than ever before
Squatted back rows: 28 reps @ 10#; Round 2: 18 reps @ 10# Heartrate: 91
High knees
Squat Thrust - Round 1 - 21; Round 2 - 18
One-legged reverse crunch
Static lunge and delt row - 24 reps @12# (up 2#); R2: 18 reps @ 12#
Pendulum lunge and hammer curl - 10# both rounds (Heartrate got up to 95%)
Cardio: oblique twists and skaters
abs: holding 5# weights above head, double leg lift to right and left
Reverse crunch
Military Press and Leg extension: 8# - 15 reps each leg
Chair Squat and V-fly (chest) - 8# - still tough!
Plank jacks - R1 - 29; R2 - 29
Double jump rope (tucks) - did 13 in a row! HR 97!
Abs: Plank Twist (opposite knee to opposite elbow)

Post-pregnancy workout - killer butt work!

I can't believe I like 30 day shred. Didn't expect to like Jillian or her workouts but I think her 3-2-1 formula works for me (3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio, 1 minute abs) and I don't even mind the basic cardio (but still intense). Since they're only 30 minutes, I have time for other things.

Deanie - Two really killer workouts the past two days! WTG! I really like the dress from Nordstrom. I think it's very appropriate. Yes, for the most part, I really love the CIA workouts! Most of the instructors do complex choreo which you know I love. I haven't had to trade any.

Gayle - Good luck with the renovation! I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Jane - Are the Insanity workouts as intense or more than the ones you already do? Do you think I'm ready for Insanity?

Waves to Rhonda and Melissa!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Hi Everyone!

I took a rest days yesterday and today. It's been a LONG time since I took 2 days off in a row from exercising but I felt like a needed a break. Tomorrow I have a 5K run in the morning.

Deanie ~ Great workout yesterday. I love the Nordstrom dress.

Marcy ~ I believe the Insanity workouts vary in intensity. I think some of them are more intense than the workouts that I do and some are less intense. I do think anyone who has been working out for a while can do these workouts as long as there are no knee/joint issues. Some of the moves are high impact so if you don't have a problem with that you can do it. Moves can be modified and you can always pause the workout if you need to have to get catch your breath. The participants in workouts stop as well. I think you are ready for Insanity!!! :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi everyone. I didn't do ANYTHING that involved cardio except a stroll around Nordstroms.

Jane- Good luck on your run today.

Deanie- WTG on moving all that weight. I like the dress you selected. I also like the Kay Unger dress that shows up next to it. I agree with the saleslady. You have been moving all kinds of poundage and hanging with Bertha. Show it off.
Marcy- WTG on Shred, PPW and SM.

Off to clean up the house since I didn't do it this weekend. BBL.

Gayle- Kitchen is looking good. Hope you had fun tailgating. Waves to everyone
