L & G Extreme

does this mix just repeat the original L&G to make it longer? Boy L&G normally is a killer who makes it through the extreme? How often do you do the extreme mix?

It repeats all of the standing work and then goes to the floor for one set. I have done this once a week on a rotation. Along with Upper and lower premixes of push and pull 3 sets earlier in the week. It worked well for me. I did the 3 set premixes Monday and Tuesday then just cardio and abs on Wednesday then I did legs and glutes extreme on Thursday, Friday I repeated the 3 sets push & pull upper and then Saturday I did cardio and abs again. I did this for 4 weeks. I had great results with it.

Hi Diane Sue! Is this the rotation that you did for 4 weeks?

Monday: 3 sets premix upper
Tuesday: 3 sets premix lower
Wednesday: cardio + abs
Thursday: legs & glutes extreme
Friday: 3 sets push/pull upper
Saturday: cardio & abs

Is this correct? TIA, Kathy

PS: Your knee must be all better if your back to doing all of this lower body work. Take care.:D

Yes Kathy that is correct. And my knee is doing really well. I have some loss of feeling in one area of it. I think maybe they cut a nerve or something. I have actually been able to increase some of my lower body weights. I have cut down on my cardio and feel like I am getting better muscle developement. I used to go for an hour to an hour and 20 minutes 6 days a week on cardio, excluding warm ups. I think that was way to much. I am less tired also. I guess laying off and then slowing down was a good learning experience for me:)

I just noticed on thing. It is lower premix on Monday and then Upper on Tuesday. That gives me two days before Legs and GLutes Extreme.

Hi Again Diane Sue! Thanks for replying about your rotation. I'm glad to hear your doing much better now. How much weight do you use on your barbell? I'm currently doing 60#s for my squats & plies but lesser weight when I do lunges. Sometimes my left knee gives me a little discomfort so I'm being careful. I remember you used to do a lot of cardio. So did I at one time but now I only do 2x a week of cardio. I'm glad your back in action! Take care, Kathy:D

Hi Kathy,
It really depends on what type of workout how heavy I lift. My Max on Cathe tapes is 70lbs for lower body. On Push & Pull I use 65lbs and a 20 lb pair of Dumb bells for lunges. On Legs and Glutes I generally use 20 lb DB's. I use 5 lb ankle weights with all of the floor work. On upper body my max is 50 lbs for bench presses. I recently upped my resistance on my Bowflex exercises. I use it on the S&H squats. I have been putting it at 170lbs of resistance. I know it does not really feel like 170 lbs but I am sure it is more than a 70 lb barbell. It is just beneficial as I don't have to lift it over my head to get it on and off of my shoulders.

Hi Kathy,
I got my Bowflex from their website. I bought extra power rods for it off of E bay. You might check around. I bet you could find a used one somewhere.

ahhh darn! A friend of mine has a Bowflex that she has hardly used and wants to sell it. She lives in Sioux Falls South Dakota.
