L-Carnitine

To increase muscle strength and energy, and burn fat more efficiently. I'm looking to lean out and although my diet is clean, it seems no matter what combo of workouts I try, I can't get that lean look that I want. My nutrionist told me about this so thought I'd see if anyone here has used it. I think I'll try it for 30 days or so and see what I get.

I used it for 6 months and didn't see a difference in anything. It's an enzyme that's supposed to be good for heart health but if you're expecting it to help lean you out....didn't do a thing for me.

How much were you taking and when? I was told 3 pills 30 minutes prior to exercise (although I'm not sure if it was 500 mg or 250).

I took two 500 mg pills before exercising. I tried three pills and noticed I would get an upset stomach. The recommendations on dosage varies but as I recall the highest was 1500 mg daily.

This is just my experience but I have to agree with the people on this site who have said most of these supplements are hogwash and a waste of money.

The only reason I even took this was because it was recommended in a menopause book and my doctor said it was safe.

Thanks Candi! I tend to fall in line with the consensus here but was hoping this might be different.
