Some days it is harder to fit in everything than others, but I'm a creature of habit and stick to a nightly routine to get the most important stuff done, such as washing & making bottles for the next day. I'll have more energy to do my late night workouts when DD starts sleeping through the night. Let's hope it won't be much longer.
When we first brought DD home from the hospital, DS wanted his grandparents to take DD home with them because he thought she did not belong at our house. Now when asked by his grandparents if she can stay there with them, he insists that DD needs to go home with us. He is a very good big brother and tries to help me. He even tells me when DD is crying that she needs a bottle. Also, DS is always showing his prized toys to DD and telling her what they are and trying to "read" to her. DH & I try very hard to have one-on-one time with him and tell him what a good job he is doing being a big brother. The week before I came back to work I started DD at daycare to get adjusted to the schedule. One day I picked only DS up early to have some special time together just the two of us. He was so excited he said, "Thank you Mommy for picking me up early. I love you.". It was worth it just for that special moment.
What a terrific big brother! It is amazing how quickly they adjust to a new addition. It sounds like you & DH made the transition as easy as possible for him.
