KPC on mini trampoline?

Cathe,
Could you do KPC or any hi-low for that matter on a mini trapoline? My feet hurt using the basement floor with such a thin rug. I even have very good sneakers, and my feet hurt when I jump too much. I'm getting a mini trampoline for Christmas. And btw, Merry Christmas Cathe and all!!!!

Hi Faythe,

I do KPC and a lot of other hi impact routines on my rebounder. I have one problem though, I have a really hard time staying on the beat. The only time I stay on the beat when using the rebounder is if I'm just jogging or if I'm using a rebounding workout. I know a lot of people have no problem staying on the beat when adapting other types of workouts to the rebounder so I guess its probably just me.:+

In my practice bounces with hi/low and the more jumping part of kpc, I think it was easier to keep the beat with the later, than hi/low. For some reason when they are on the 2nd jump I'm in the air from the first. So, I can do every other count. I'll try that for a while and see what happens.
thanks for your input.

I usually use my rebounder for non-rebounder workouts, and I've done some kickboxing workouts on it, though I haven't tried KPC on it. The running and jumping kicks of KPC should work well. When doing punches, do a small bounce instead of a shuffle. The problem I've found with kickboxing + rebounder is with the pivots that you have to make for punches and kicks. I discovered that it worked better not to just stand on the rebounder and use it as a pivoting surface, but to do a small bounce, and time it so that I would do the pivot while my foot was off the mat (so "bonce, pivot, bounce").

The move where Cathe does a right foot forward/right jab; right foot back/left jab would have to be made a bit smaller because of the surface of the mat, but you could bounce while doing it, and bring the knee up higher when shifting positions of the foot.

Also, I highly suggest you get some kind of mats (like the interlockiing mats from Home Depot) to put down in your exercise area. If the floor is cement with a thin rug on it (which is what it soulds like) your body will take quite a beating from it, even the parts that don't hurt yet!

Thanks Kathryn! That sounds like a good idea with the kpc, (small jumps)
As far as the matts: we have been planning on moving for some time now and my husband is on the verge of accepting a job. we have 3 dif. jobs/states to make a choice from. It looks like Jan will be the month to choose. Anyway, when we move, we are going to make one bed room into a gym, and I will make sure the floor condusive to aerobics and jumping and such. Now, I'm in a basement with a thin industrial type carpet: hard on the feet.
