Hellloooo!!!! Is anyone there? It's Friday, 3:40 PDT and I'm bored (end of month stuff is all in and there is nothing for me to do). Anyone have any insightful (or non-insightful) comments to make?

IT'S FRIDAY AND I JUST WATCHED THE NEW HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE TRAILER TWICE AND OMG IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE BRILLIANT AND I CAN'T WAIT.

Okay, I'm calm now.

:p

Oooooh, I can't wait to see it! I've read the book about 4 times. It's a good one. The movie looks really good.

Okay, now don't fall over but can you believe I have never seen a H.P. movie or read any of the books? I keep hearing that we are missing something soooo we picked up the first movie (VHS format) not too long ago. We saw it on sale for a cheap price and I figured it would give us an idea if we would like to rent all of them later. You guys have me real curious.

I have friends who have no interest what-so-ever in Harry Potter. We remain friends. LOL. Seriously - watch the first one. You'll know then whether this will ignite your Potter Passion, or bore you to tears.

It's pure sci-fi fantasy. If you liked the Lord of the Rings, chances are you'll like these. If not, well, then probably not.

But what worlds both Tolkien and Rowlings have created...

Note - I said it's pure Sci Fi Fantasy, but that's not really the case. The story is of a kid who was a nobody - abused, neglected, ignored... who turned out to not only be a somebody, but one of the most important somebody's in an entire world. It's every kid who has ever been fat, ugly, pimply, nerdy, or just plain different from the "popular kids" secret fantasy.

Thanks Christine! Hmmm, sounds like we may just like them because we DO like Lord of the Rings. I best like it if I want you to be my friend! Ha! :7 Thanks for the info.

Oh Debbie - with all of the fabulous advice you have given me, I can overlook one minor flaw. *grins* But, yeah, you probably will like them. Watch the first one and let us know! I'm so excited for you! A whole world out there for you waiting to be explored!

Funny I also was a "I have no interest in Harry Potter". I'm on book 3 now. What fun!

Think I'll watch the movies after I finish all 5

I'm a big believer in reading the books before watching the movie. I like not having preconceived notions of the characters and events. I can't believe JK Rowling's imagination, it's such an incredible world she creates in these books. These are fun books for sure.

Thanks all! You've convinced me. I'll let you know after we watch the first one. I love to read but just don't have the time right now. I would love to have the whole collection of books. Thanks for the "push" to see what HP is all about!
