KK's November/December Check-In

Hi Rhea & Janie!

I've been on the road to New York to see my daughter and my new granddaughter, Lila Madison. :D I tried to find our old post, but it was so buried, I couldn't find it, so I decided to start a new one.

So I have a new grandbaby and she's a beauty -- I'm going to try to download a photo, but I don't know how successful I'll be -- but here we go: Okay, it didn't take -- I'm so inept at this sort of thing.

We drove straight to get to NY and now I'm staying with my daughter -- not much time to workout, I must admit -- but I'm trying. Also have a few pounds to take off -- not a great way to enter the holidays.

Today was MMA Kickbox. Part of it -- still having to do short workouts.

Anyway, I've posted pictures on the blog today at www.petticoatsandpistols.com if you want to go and have a look at the new grandbaby.

Hope you are both doing well. Sorry I've been MIA.

Happy Thanksgiving to you both!!:D

There you are! I was wondering if there was a new thread for you KK!

I'll have to go look at the pictures in a while. Congrats on the new grandbaby! :D

I know it is hard to fit in those workouts when you are so darn busy, but it is awesome that you are! How much longer are you going to be in NY?

Hi Janie! Looks like you've been busy too!

Did TBS and walked Rolly around the house for about 30 min.

KK, Your Grandbaby looks so adorable! Perhaps it's the genes of Grandma?

Will you be staying in NY through the Holidays?

Don't worry about the exercises right now, you have more important things you must do. Besides, once you get home, you can get in there and remove all unwanted pounds and gain muscle.

Was wondering how you were doing, it's great to hear from you.

Rhea, Yes, I've been busy, but not as much as you two. Been lacking a week of exercise, I call it my active recovery from all the exercises I've been doing. But I guess in reality, I just lost my motivation. It's come back though and with a vengeance. My new DVD's from Cathe should arrive on the 1st, can't hardly wait.

Take care,

Janie

Good Evening!

Hi!:D

Am just starting to surface again after arriving here in NY. My days have been spent doing cleaning and laundry and cooking for my daughter, trying to make life easy for her after the birth. I found out a few days after I got here that the birth was a little rough.

So my attention has been fixed pretty much on this. I've been taking walks/runs -- and that sort of thing -- trying to keep a little in shape, but I'm afraid my eating is off.

But I wanted to get back to the forums and say hello and find out how you both are doing. It's cold here in NY -- snowed yesterday -- which was wonderful.

Hope you are both doing well. I'll try to post as often as I can. :D

Hi KK,

I need your address please! I know, but I lost it, or one of the animals got it, and now I don't know where it is. It's almost Christmas and would love to send you a Christmas card. If it doesn't workout that way, please do have a gran Christmas and a Happy New Year. Enjoy your loved ones and New York.

I found your address!

Good Morning!

Wow! Well, we drove home from NY and arrived just in time to hit the ground running as my other daughter was coming for Christmas. So it was clean, clean, clean, shop, shop, shop, put up a tree, etc. You can imagine. All to be done within 1-2 days (we got home on the 22nd or 23rd, I believe). So am only now surfacing yet again.

My workouts in NY were sparce because I didn't always have the room to workout. Sometimes I went out for a run, but not always.

Anyway, the DVD's -- the new ones were here when I arrived home -- but we wrapped them as a gift for Christmas (more gifts under the tree). So let's see -- although I have to alter them so they are 30-40 minutes each, I've done INTENSITY with bootcamp and then INTENSITY with the remaining upper body parts (triceps, abs and back, I believe) the next day -- and then LOWER BODY yesterday -- boy, that's some workout -- and then today Cardio Core. Whew!

They are great, aren't they?

Anyway, am home again and trying to get back to work and jump back into my life. Hope all is well with you and that you had a terrific Christmas!

If you want to see pictures of the baby, etc., here's a link:

http://petticoatsandpistols.com/page/2/

And on the first page of that site is my recipe for raw chocolate cream cookies supreme. :D

Am still running now trying to get back into work and such. Have a super day!:D

Joey and I did The Firm Vol. 1 today. It was really hard! We made it through just fine. Had to stop every now and then is all.

KK, So glad you are back at home. The pictures of your grandchild are so adorable. You look very proud, as grandmas should.;)

I see you are still as busy as a bee. Are you, or will you ever calm down just a little? No, you won't.

My workouts weren't up to par either. But since Chirstmas has ended and we don't have to go to a New Year's Eve party, I started my normal exercises and eating. Yeah! It feels so good!:D

Oh my, you are going to love the new DVD's. I'm so glad you were able to do some. That's just a taste for what's to come. LOL;)

Thank you for the lovely pictures and your recipes.

Have a terrific evening,

Janie

Good Evening!

Hi Janie & Rhea!

Am still trying to get back onto things. No, doesn't look real promising for slowing down anytime soon. In fact, the opposite.

But whatever... I've decided it's a matter of schedule -- if I can keep one. So many hours a day for one job, so many for another and then so many for the third -- inbetween exercise and cooking...gee, I'm keeping busy.

I'm a little overweight -- due to making and eating cookies, cookies and more cookies. (Real ones, although they are made with whole sprouted grains and maple syrup as a sweetner and organic -- they are still cookies...) -- so am gradually starting to eat less -- drink more water -- and exercise as much as possible.

How are things going your way?

Rhea, hope the house is working out well, and Janie are you back down to your normal weight yet? We went out on New Year's eve and New Year's day we had company and so I'm only now getting back into eating well.

I've done all the workouts in shortened form now except for the one with lots of repetition. I figure I'll do that one on the weekends when I have a little more time. In the meantime, still doing legal and writing and business plans...

Have a super evening!:D

Hi KK and Rhea,

Today's workout was cardio and I did Power Max for 40 min. Getting in a routine nice and easy. Will do more once my body gets more acclimated.

KK, I'm also a little overweight by indulging in rich food. About 10 pounds worth! Yikes! We stayed home on New Year Eve and Day. It was great. I started my exercise routines the day after Christmas, since we were not planning on going anywhere but home. Glad I did to, otherwise I might be 15 pounds overweight. You sure still are keeping yourself busy. But, I think that (in part) is you. Got your email and will look at those sites ASAP. Thanks a million.

Rhea, Sure do miss you, and hope you see that we are now posting again. Love to hear about your house too.

Janie

Hello! Glad to see everyone back. I won't be able to post very much as I am just overwhelmed at work. We are one person short and a new person doesn't start until the 18th, but then I have back to back trials that start up. Oh joy.

House is going slowly, but that is okay since I don't have any other time right now. I think I'll have to at least the end of the month before we have to do anything on the house ourselves. We have been busy picking out and buying the last things for the house. I don't think I have much I have to get, just a few things that I have forgotten.

Here is a picture of the house in November (I think) I haven't uploaded the latest pictures from my camera yet. It now has the windows, roof and all sides covered. They have not started the outside siding and rock yet because it has been too snowy and cold. Which is good, since I really don't want to move in the middle of winter anyways. The doggies wouldn't have any place to stay since there is no pen yet. I just have to be real good with the finances so we can afford both places for a while.

Joey has a cold so we did TBS. Surprise! We used heavier weight.

Rhea, Will miss you in between posts, for sure. I know how it goes when you are so busy. The house is outstanding.

Take care,

Janie

Good Evening!

Today was another Hiit for me -- 30/30 I believe. Then about an hour walk of the dogs -- one at a time -- they are getting big and taking them one at the time is about the only way I can really control them.

Then it was running all day long until now. Janie, you made me smile. Yes, I think it's just the way I am. I complain about being busy, but it does seem to be the way I run my life.

Janie, That's great on getting back into things. I was really happy to read those tips on losing weight. I struggle with my weight, as you know -- but I think that's okay. It keeps me aware of what I eat and that sort of thing.

Rhea, back to back trials. I can't even imagine it. I think my head would spin. I'm doing well just to keep on track with mine. Sigh... I made the picture bigger so I could get a good look at it. It's gorgeous and it's not even done yet. It must be fun to watch it in the building stage.

Two properties at the same time. Yeah, that would be tough for me.

I have to work on my schedule so I get more done. But whatever. I'll just keep working on it. Did I send you pictures of my new granddaughter? If you don't mind, I'll send you one in email form.

Have a super evening!:D

Did Athletic Moves today. Jeesh! It was a head band wringer. Love it. I think I'll start doing pushups on the toes today. One at a time per day and see how far that will get me.

KK, Great job on Hiit 30/30 and the hour of walking dogs. I love 30/30 that one and it's over in a flash! Struggleing for a better weight is inspiration in it self, I think. We have a lot of things in common, you and I. Love the picture of your granddaughter. She gorgeous! How proud you mus be.:D

Have a wonderful day,

Janie

Hi!

Gosh, I keep saying I'm going to post more and then life intervenes. Sigh...

Yes, Janie, we really do have much in common, among which is a love of writing as well as a love of doing things from scratch. :)

Have been keeping my workouts up except Monday. I had a hearing on Monday and so Sunday and Monday were all taken up with legal stuff. Not my idea of fun. Sigh...

Let's see. Today was the hiit part of Intensity and then upper body from Intensity Series Bootcamp. Tomorrow am planning Intensity Series Bootcamp cardio (or hiit) and lower body. And day before was 4DS Boot camp -- seems I do alot of boot camps -- all different.

Still struggling with the weight. Doesn't help that I'm craving carbs -- ever since Christmas. Am getting back into my life -- got some greens so as to make green drink.

Hope all is going well with you, Janie, and you, Rhea.

Have a super day!:D

Hi all! I've been just surviving work lately. Was by myself for the entire week, so I had to do all the court appearances. I'm exhausted. I did not have any time to do any workouts, plus i was too darn pooped to even think about working out. I will get started back up this weekend. ave a great rest of the day!

Joey and I did The Firm: Hi-Def Sculpt. It's a full body workout. Plus I did 9 push ups on the toes. Yeah!

KK, You are doing very well on the workouts. life sometimes gets in the way of that. Great job on part of Intensity and then upper body from Intensity Bootcamp. Wow! Yummy, green drinks are so gooooood.

Rhea, So nice to hear from you when ever you can. I know how it is when life is just toooooooo busy. Good plan to start up on exercises again.

Janie

Hi!

Wow, Rhea, all those appearances can be draining. You really have my admiration.

And Janie, that FIRM workout sounds good. What's the time on it -- am hunting for full body workouts that are about 30-35 to 40 minutes long. Hard to find.

Anyway, today was a day of filing papers -- kinda para legal stuff -- but for us. So no workout today. Just working all day. Boy, Rhea, I understand so much better what you're saying.

Plan to keep the workouts going this weekend. But lots of work, too.

Have a super weekend.

Hi!

Running like crazy today -- no chance to workout.

But yesterday, it was 4DS, cardio only for me. I injured myself doing the the new lower body DVD. Am letting my hip kinda get better. I have to watch it sometimes on lower body workouts and there were some new techniques with this one that I wasn't used to.

Interestingly, another lower body where I injured myself was butts and guts -- I've never repeated that particular DVD because of the injury. Those are the only two videos that I've done where I've injured myself. One of the reasons I like Cathe so much is that my tendency to injure myself is so much less with Cathe workouts.

Anyway...hope you both are doing great. Hope your evening is super.:D

Joey and I decided that we will do TBS for 6-7 weeks. He will do it with heavy weight and I will do it as a warm up and use heavy weight where I need it, like hamstrings, biceps, triceps, shoulders and inner/outer thighs. Joey is in 7th heaven.

This is what I did Mon. with the challenges (from, 100 pushups.com), with 60 sec. rest between sets and good form.

Pull-Ups:
Assisted 3
Assisted 4
Assisted 3
Negative 1 (lowering down from top slowly)
Negative (max. hang, starting from top lower down slowly and stay there until you can't any longer. For me, 5-8 sec. Total of 12 assisted.

Push-Ups: 6, 6, 4, 4, 5...total of 25...What? Can't believe I did that.
Squats: 8, 8, 5, 5, 7...total of 33...Wow
Sit-Ups: 9, 9, 6, 6, 8...total 38...I can see that.

Will do them again today but more. Will report later on that.

KK, The Firm Workout was 55 min. It is hard to find a full body workout that is less than that or 30-40 min. Great job on 4DS cardio. So sorry to hear about your injury. Do you think a roller might help you? I agree about Cathe's workouts, I have less injuries too.;)

Hi Rhea girl.:)

Janie

Joey and I did TBS, Joey with heavy weight and me, with heavy weight with biceps, triceps, inner and outer thighs, and hamstrings. All the other exercises were warm ups. My challenge suggests 60 sec. per set. unless otherwise mentioned.

Pull-Ups: I have DOM's
Assisted 3
Assisted 5
Assisted 4
Negative 1 with 30 sec. rest then
Negative 1 yet again

Push-Ups On Toes:
6 read it wrong and did 10 OOPS!
8, then 6, then 6, then 7. Was hard! 37 total

Squats:
8, 11, 8, 8, 9

Sit-Ups
9, 12 obliques, 9 Lower(with legs up), 9 combo and 10

Janie
