KK's May Check In

Hello,
This morning was a sub, I did High Intensity Step by Tracey Staehle for 30 minutes, then switched to yoga by Baron Baptiste for about 20 minutes. Have a time trial after work tonite, IF my stomach gases are better and enable me to bend over on the bike. We'll see.

Karen, postage up again, sigh. Hope you are getting those mailings done. Thanks for the info on Power Hour. Think next week I'll plan a Recovery Week and do some functional fitness workouts. I have the TLT's that I like but haven't done in a while.

Hi to Rhea and Becky,

Jeanette

Good afternoon ladies.

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. Time flew too fast.

Sunday I did 90 minutes on the treadmill (50 running, 40 walking) while studying. Yesterday I did back weight work and 50 minutes on the elliptical. Today I did chest and 70 minutes on the treadmill.

Tomorrow I will do legs and no cardio.

Studying is so time-consuming! Reviewing 2 years of material in 4 weeks is literally insane (actually, I am trying to cram it into 2 weeks since our cumulative final is next Friday...and then go over it all again in the last 2 weeks before boards.)

Back to the grindstone.

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

Jeanette -- hope those time trials went well. If you still have stomach gas, did you know that charcoal is known to aid with that? If you add in some bentonite clay (health food grade), it might help. The reference for this is Prescription for Nutritional Healing, which you can pick up at most any Health Food Store.

Your workout sounds great. Oh, and Power Hour was great today -- it's a muscle endurance workout -- I guess that's why I think ME when I think of it.

Becky -- your schedule is daunting. Oh, my gosh. But at least it's only 4 weeks, and then it's over. 90 minutes while studying. Go, Bekcy.

Rhea -- hope you are doing well, and that you're back to doing your workouts.

Yes, more mailings. Hopefully this will be it this year until Christmas. Also, we're scheduling out the June tour.

Have a super day and some great workouts.

Good morning,
Today was Butts & Guts Leg Blast Premix and then some lower body exercises from "Squeeze". Great leg workout. I did do the time trial last night, though the weather was windy. We had a good showing of people for it, with 3 of us ladies included. My time was slower by a minute from last month's but I think everyone's was due to the headwind. My little stomach bug seems to be over, YAAAY!

Karen, thanks for the recommendation of charcoal. I'll have to look that one up in my big book of recommended natural treatments. Glad Power Hour was good for you! How long will your tour be this year?

Becky, your studying makes me tired. Guess you are doing legs today too. Enjoy!

Great workouts!

Jeanette

My goodness I forgot to post yesterday!

Well, still didn't get a workout in, but golfed nine whole with the ladies group (Women's club at the course)after work. Jeanette, this would be a fun group to join if you are interested. It was very fun. They play just to have fun, in fact, it is called "play day." Or for Tues, play evening! haha

No workout this evening, hair appointment and there are men in my house right now installing new windows, so I can't go workout. Tomorrow is a doc appt in Reno. Well, maybe I can get something in on Friday!

Glad to see everything is going well for everyone.

Hello ladies!

Today I did a quickie leg workout...about 25 minutes.

My clinical skills exam went well today. I only forgot 2 things, so in the grand scheme of things, this should be an A.

Back to the grindstone for boards. I AM SO SICK OF STUDYING. Better get back to it though. Have a great evening everyone!

Becky

Good Evening!:)

Becky -- you made me smile with your being sick of studying -- better get back to it. :p Go, Becky. You're amazing.

Jeanette -- So glad that bug is gone -- and a minute off your time trials isn't bad -- especially considering the head wind. I'm hoping to gradually build up my muscles on the bike -- I'm going for a ride almost everyday nowadays -- just pleasure, however.

Glad to see the leg workout was good.

Rhea -- 9 holes of golf sounds good to me. Also hope the hair appointment went well. I love getting my hair done. And new windows. Lucky you!

It was cardio from SJP for me today and then a stretch with the band. I'm supposed to do Supersets tomorrow -- will see how I feel in the morning -- I'm still sore from Power Hours yesterday.x( Have decided to kick up my weight on my legs. My hips are about 1/2 inch bigger than they should be and they're not coming down real fast, so I think I'll go heavier and see if it makes a difference.

Busy scheduling this tour. It'll be throughout the month of June. Whew! Lots to do, that's for certain.

Have a super day tomorrow, everyone and some good workouts and work, too!:7

Morning,

Today's workout was the pushups (all on toes) from GS Chest & Triceps, LIC Upper Body Sculpt 2X (only 1 set of the pushups as I was fried), and then KPC abs 2X (only 1 set of planks and pikes). Total workout 60 minutes. I really liked the upper body work with the band in LIC for the back. Tonite will be a bike ride after work with a girlfriend.

Rhea, new windows are exciting. We had that done and siding put on the house about 8 years ago. Added a better look to the house for sure. Golfing would be fun, but I'm afraid if I have one more hobby, DH would really shake his head. I tend to be really focused on some stuff and I think golf could be one of those things that I quit doing everything else for and concentrate on. I'm just that way. Glad you had a good time.

Becky, good job on the exam. A short workout is better than nothing, consistency pays off.

Karen, I like the cardio in SJP. Good luck finding what works to slim the legs. We just have to experiment and find out what works. So your tour is next month. Just around the corner, but I'm sure you know that!

Great day everyone!

Jeanette

Hello ladies.

I am getting ready to head back over to Tallahassee for National Board of Medical Examiners Exam 2 (mini board written by the same people who write THE boards.)

I had to drop DH off at the airport to go to California this AM. :( His brother is graduating college. If I didn't have this exam tomorrow, I would have gotten to go as well. Such is life.

I forgot to mention that on the way back to Pensacola yesterday a rock hit my window and put a crack in it. The heat today made the crack even bigger! Luckily, Fl is a no fault state, so I shouldn't have to pay for it. I think the state pays for it. I am going to wait until DH gets back though on Saturday before I do anything about it. I am just going to drive his car instead of mine. (but it stinks because I just did a great cleaning job on the interior and exterior of mine...and now I have to drive his dirty car!)

Today I did 80 minutes on the treadmill. A mixture of walking a bit and then running a mile, repeat, etc. I was supposed to do shoulders today, but couldn't get myself to do it. I was going to take tomorrow off as a rest day, but I'll do the shoulders instead. I hate doing shoulders.

I think my post has a tad bit of a flavor of whining. Sorry. I guess I am whiny tonight. I miss DH. BUT, I am going to stay busy. Test in Tally tomorrow, drive back to Pensacola, friend is turning 21 and we are going to celebrate at the bars on the beach. Then he'll be back Saturday. Okay, I just cheered myself up. :)

Have a great evening!

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

Becky, you gave me some more chuckles tonight...whiny, then cheering yourself up with the thought of your friend and then your hubby coming back home. Don't worry about whining -- I think you have just cause. :)

Montana is the state where I get the cracks in my windshield -- when we travel there (which is often) my hubby brings along his repair the windshield kit. I know what you mean about driving a dirty car. My hubby works construction and his truck...

Jeanette, are you doing Cathe's rotation this month? Or is this a rotation from ... gee, I can't remember her name ... she's the one that does all those fabulous rotations. Or did you make up this rotation yourself? It's sounds fascinating and very creative. Push ups on toes -- something that is hard for me -- I generally do them on my knees -- not always, but usually.

Becky -- your workout looks great -- I had to push myself to do Supersets today -- the thought of those biceps almost put me off -- but once I was into them, it was okay.

And Jeanette -- hope your bike ride was good. Didn't ride my bike today -- spent all day stuffing letters -- all day... Just finished them and it's midnight. Goodness.

Okay, so tomorrow is our anniversary. Yea! I can't wait -- I'll be fixing a special dinner and then I have a candlelight session in the bedroom planned... Can't wait.

Tomorrow is a busy day -- gotta finish up the letters and get them in the mail tomorrow, as the postage rates go up on Monday. Then it's to the store to buy some Prime Rib and then home to fix it and bake a cake. I love these times when I get to be in the kitchen.

So, since I don't see you, Jeanette, or you, Rhea, usually over the weekend, I'm going to wish you a wonderful weekend now. So have a fabulous weekend and some wonderful, super workouts everyone!:7

Good Evening!:)

It was a fabulous weekend for me. It was my anniversary and it was WONDERFUL! Was able to spend time in the kitchen and made dinner and a cake -- and we did spend the evening in the bedroom. Great anniversary, I must say.

And the rest of the weekend was much the same. Just great. Ah!...

Oh, also found out that the Cathe DVD that I ordered (the CTX series) is on its way to me. It's happened faster than I would have thought -- so that is very good. I can't wait to get it -- and when I do, some of my mock-up for the week's workout schedule might change. Oh, it was Drill Max for me -- premix cardio drills only -- but 8 rotations on Friday. And KPC premix today.

Anyway, here's the plan for the upcoming week:

Mon: IMAX2
Tues: ME -- gonna try ME this week
Wed: Cardio & stretch -- not sure what cardio right now
Thurs: Drill Max -- Full Body premix (strength workout only)
Fri: IMAX3 -- 8 rotations
Sat: We've going to San Diego this day
Sun: If I have CTX -- kickboxing workout

Well, am heavy into scheduling the tour and trying to get to my correspondence, which is way backed up. Whew! Hope you all had a great weekend.

Have a wonderful day and some super workouts!:7

Good morning,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a super one. Saturday, I went down to Auburn, CA and did a practice bike ride for the triathlon that I am part of a relay for this coming Sunday. The bike course is very, very nice, hilly, but a good one. The scenery is beautiful. Very much looking forward to this triathlon, especially cuz I don't have to swim or run! All 3 of us team members will meet tonite after work. I've never met our runner yet so it will be fun. She sounds real upbeat.

Yesterday, after DH and I went to breakfast, both of us did yardwork and then headed out to the desert with the dogs and the Rhino. Had a very nice, relaxing time. Think the temps were in the 70's so very, very pleasant. Also, kids wished me Happy Mother's Day and visited by phone, DS coming over the night before to visit and bring card.

Today's workout was SJP, leaving out 3 of the hi-lo segments to make 60 minutes total. Fun. The rest of this week will be functional fitness workouts and whatever I want I guess. Kind of a Recovery Week.

Karen, glad your anniversary was so special! Hope you get CTX soon and can't wait to hear how you like it!

Hi to everyone, this week will be busy at work and at home. Have a special family BBQ to get ready for on Friday evening. Will be taking Friday and Monday off so a nice 4 dayer!

Jeanette

Hello ladies!

Karen, so glad your anniversary went well.

Friday I did those dreaded shoulders.
Saturday I did biceps and a run on the elliptical
Sunday I did triceps and a run on elliptical and treadmill.
Today I did back and a run on the treadmill.

DH is starting P90x classic tonight after work. We did the fit test on him yesterday. He passed everything w/ no problem (except those chin ups...needs to work on those...but he did pass it :) )

Must get back to studying. Friday is my last exam in Tallahassee and then 3 weeks till boards.

Becky

Hi ladies.

Wanted to add to my post now that DH has done his first P90x workout. He did Chest and Back followed by Ab Ripper X (I did ab ripper w/ him). That is some crazy stuff! I think I will do Plyometrics w/ him tomorrow.

-Becky

Good Evening!:)

Another busy day for me. I think we all sound like we're kinda busy, busy. And you, Becky -- three weeks till your boards -- but at least this Friday is the last exam and then preparation... You'll do it.;-)

Let's see -- IMAX2 for me today -- 9 intervals -- left out interval 9 -- am still building back up.

Jeanette -- Oh, I see how this is working, you're with 3-4 other people on the triathlon -- that really does sound like fun. And I've heard that Auburn, CA is beautiful.

The family BBQ sounds like fun, as well...something special to prepare for. Interesting that by cutting out the hi-lo on SJP you were able to shorten it to 60 minutes. I gotta remember that.

Becky -- you workouts look good for what you're doing -- and studying while you're doing them. That's great about your hubby passing the fit test. Wonder how I'd do... Although I haven't done the P90X -- keep us informed, okay?

I envy you your bike rides, Jeanette. They sound wonderful.

Rhea -- how was your weekend? Any golf? Painting? Housework?

Let's see, it's ME for me tomorrow -- hope I'm up for it -- ME is one the hardest workouts for me, but one of my favs. Tomorrow is filled with scheduling and other work for the tour -- and getting to that correspondence that is so backlogged. My hubby's birthday is on Saturday and we're planning to go to San Diego -- that should be fun...and I'm planning to bake him a cake -- maybe do a little shopping with him for whatever he needs.

Well, have a super day tomorrow and some terrific workouts!:7

Good morning ladies.

Today I did PlyoX w/ DH. My hip flexors are screaming. I may get around to doing my chest work...but it will be a bit later. I will NOT be doing the treadmill today, not after PlyoX. :)

Hope you enjoyed ME today Karen.

Jeanette and Rhea, hope you have great days too.

Must get back to studying.

Becky

Good morning,
Had a busy day yesterday with work, meeting with the 2 other girls on our triathlon relay team, then over to my parents house to deliver some mahogany wood that DH cut yesterday for the big BBQ on Friday.

Today's workout was TLT's Better Burn, Better Buns. Hadn't done this one in a long time. It was fun and 55 minutes long, just right. Tonite will be a bike ride for me.

Karen, the team is made up of 3 of us. One girl does the .9 mile swim in Folsom Lake, I will do the 25 mile bike ride, and the 3rd lady does the 6 mile run. Should be fun and the weather is looking good for Sunday. I'll be starting the ride around 8:30 so it will be cool still. Glad as it's a hilly course. Our family BBQ will be on Friday. DH and I have both taken that day out to help my parents, which they appreciate. I will be bringing a dutch oven dessert (apple dumplings in caramel sauce), and bringing a special small batch of ribs.

Becky, hope your DH enjoys P90X. It's a great program. AbX is so effective. When I see before and after pics of people, I notice the abs have improved greatly on everyone that does the program.

Rhea, hope you are okay. Been golfing lately? Thought of you today as I used the green ball you gave me for BBBB, also a golf club as a prop.

Jeanette

Good morning!

I've been reading but unable to post. Too busy in court. Dang it. Haven't really worked out much either, gardening has taken over a bit. Sat was the gardening. Sun I did the P90 1/2 sweat to get my muscles back into it. Yesterday was helping with the Memorial Garden at the golf course (weeding, weed wacking, etc.) Tonight is play day at the golf course for me, so I will be golfing. If I can I'm going to try and squeeze in the P90 sculpt somewhere.

Well, not much more time to post, got court and a client waiting (why do they wait until the last minute to talk to me?)

Talk to you later!

Good Evening!:)

Had some time today to relax -- haven't had much of that lately -- and it was nice -- won't have it too much in the next few months -- so better enjoy it while it's here.

It was ME today -- the timesaver premix -- about 53 minutes long I figure -- it was great! My weight shot up 2 pounds overnight -- I hate when that happens -- so I'm really dieting today -- hope it works.

Jeanette -- that triation -- did I spell that right -- really sounds like fun -- and it's great that you don't yourself have to do it all. Also just reading about the dessert you're planning has made my mouth water -- especially today when I'm dieting...x(

And the BBQ sounds like great family fun. Love it!

Becky -- Terrific that you're doing the P90X's with your hubby -- and study well.

Rhea -- Being a lawyer sounds pretty tough to me. Courts, clients, etc. Gardening at the golf course, however, sounds like some good fun, actually. We are starting to plant more and more things -- not that we have much room, living here in LA, but what room we have, we're gonna try to plant.

Tomorrow is cardio and stretch -- one of my favorite days -- it's like relaxing. Not sure which cardio yet, and will probably figure it out first thing tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile am gearing up for the next tour and trying to get things back in order -- as well as researching for the next series/book.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow and some super workouts!:7

Good morning,

Last night was a bike ride, good one and really pushed it on the pace. I'll probably ride one more time (easy spin) before the triathlon on Sunday, just to keep my legs loosened up. Today's workout was Christi Taylor's Cardio Collectibles (step part). This workout was really fun and I only had to rewind a few times as it's been a while since I've done it. Christi is an excellent cuer, but different than Cathe. I think Cathe's step is much less complex for sure, but Christi keeps my mind going more, though less intense. This week, I'm doing less intense in prep for the triathlon. Tonite will go shopping with my mother in preparation for Friday's big family BBQ.

Rhea, your gardening at the golf course sounds fun. Hope the golf was fun last night too.

Karen, don't worry about the weight, it's probably just water anyway and will come off soon. I am looking forward to the whole triathlon experience, the camping beforehand, being around the athletes. I'll drive to Auburn on Saturday around noon and come back on Sunday after the tri.

Great workouts,

Jeanette
