KK's January 2010 Thread

Good evening,
Today's workout was the step only (no blasts) from Imax2, then about 20 minutes of Christy Taylor's Step Heaven. Tacked on the abs from Cardio & Weights. Took a walk during my break too.

Janie, so glad you don't have an ulcer. I had a colonoscopy a couple years ago (when I turned 50). Worse part is the prep for sure. I will never drink lemon-lime again LOL! When they released me, I told DH to take me to IHOP for pancakes. I love pancakes. You could have told me that they didn't do the procedure and I would have said, okay. No ill effects. No polyps for me, but I too have pockets in my colon. No problems yet with it. My DH takes Prilosec or OTC for his GERD. I've read that apple cider vinegar is good for it, but I could never get him to take much of it. Anyway, I hope that you feel better soon.

Good night,

Jeanette, Great workout, a little bit of here and there. Love those kinds of workouts.

I'm so glad I'm not alone with a colonoscopy. For my GERD I take 1/3 of a tablet of DGL, it's licorice, every 4 hours. Works the best on me. I've tried many things and this is it for me.

Take care and have a great workout tomorrow, I'll be hiking with my Joey.

Good Evening!

Forgot to post last night. Didn't workout. Now I'm busier than ever. Have to rewrite 35 pages. Every time I go in to do it, I end up so sad, that I've been doing other things. Have to get over that.

Anyway, today was the last part of Cardio & Weights --about 35-40 minutes. Was good.

Jeanette, I often do that IMAX2 without blasts, just as a cardio routine -- IMAX2 is one of my favorite workouts.

Janie, so glad that you don't have an ulcer. I had one once -- got it froma medication that was very strong -- but with proper nutrition, got rid of it. But I sure remember it not being any fun. So glad you don't have it.

Hi Rhea! Hope all is going well with you.

Well, it's bedtime and lots to do -- but then what else is new with me. As I get older, it seems I have more and more to do, instead of less. Go figure.

Have a super day tomorrow, everyone!:D

Good Evening!

Well, today was Hiit Pyramid -- one that I'm liking more and more. Was a little tough for me today, but hey, need to do it.

Am really having quite a time getting rid of these extra few pounds that I put on in November. Sigh...:( But no choice but to keep it up.

Have a terrific weekend, everyone.:D

Good morning,

No workout for me yesterday. I vegged on the couch instead :p. Went to the Elk's Crab Feed last night with DH, my sister and her DH, Mom and Dad, and had a great time. Today's workout was STS Disk 17 for legs. Really sweated my way through. Maybe I was sweating out the wine I drank last night. Anyway, I boosted the weights and got a great workout. Going to take DD to Chester today to buy some fabric for me to make her a quilt. Should be fun time.

Karen, do you save your work daily to a jump drive? They are so easy to use and store a TON. Plus they are cheap now. Yes, sure seems tougher to lose the weight now, but oh well. Guess things could be worse. Imax2 and C&W sure is a great DVD. I had to have it replaced a few years ago as the middle cracked in it and it wouldn't play. They replaced it just like that and it fits much better in the case now.

Janie, what is DGL, and where do you buy it? How was the hike? My DH likes to hike too, but usually, it's to look for firewood to cut out in the woods.

Hi Rhea :D, bet you are busy getting ready for the new house construction. I'm envious, but in a good way!

J.

KK, You are doing consistent workouts. Very proud of you. You'll be losing eventually. How can you not?

How did you get rid of your ulcer without meds.?

Jeanette, Yesterday sounds like a wonderful day for family. Looks like you are doing really good on the STS rotation. Congratulations on improving your weight lifting. Enjoy getting fabric, that's always a lot of fun.

DGL is licorice tablets. The "D" stands for a huge long word that I can't even begin to pronounce. I get it where ever it is on sale over the internet. The Health Food stores are just to expensive.

We had such a great hike yesterday, so much that we will do it again today.

Have a good one.

Janie

Good Morning!

Please excuse this quick post. My daughter is here from the East Coast and so I don't have a lot of time to post.

I'm going to come back in tonight when I have more time and read all your posts and really answer them. But for now, just wanted to let you know that time is even in less quantity this week than usual.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Hi all,
Let's see, Sunday's workout was all of Step Blast, including the challenges, then added stability ball abs from STS. I did what I could on it. Can't do those moves on the ball without worrying about falling so I just don't do them. But up until those moves, it's good. In the afternoon, did a 16 mile bike ride around our local loop that felt good.

Today was my rest day so no workout. Tomorrow will be STS Disk ?? for Back and Biceps.

Saturday, had a wonderful day with my DD, buying fabric and visiting and such. Just blessed!!! I'll be making a quilt for her soon. I'm excited about that.

Janie, hope you got a good hike in yesterday. Thanks for the info on the licorice for GERD. Not sure he'd take something like that. Now if it were me, I'd much rather take something natural that worked, rather than medications.

Karen, hope you have a great visit with your daughter. Sit down and relax some too... My Mom has to be busy all the time when we come to visit her. My sisters and I just want to grab her and say sit down, it's okay not to be "productive" all the time. Just visit with us and relax. Life's too short...Not sure we're going to change her at this point. Probably not.

Must go,

Joey and I did BBL High & Tight and BBl Tummy Tuck. It was really fun! Hard though.

KK
, Have you ever thought about taking a time management class? Will look forward to your post. I feel for you.

Jeanette, Great job on those workouts. I do the same thing on the ab workout. Just not there yet, maybe someday. 16 miles for a bike ride. You are still a strong woman. Good for you! Glad you had a good time with DD. What kind of quilt will you be making for her?

Yeah, I hear you on meds. That's why I'm taking a natural supplement. It's best for me since I don't do well with hardly any meds.

Hi Rhea girl. How ya doing?

Hello there!

Just haven't had time to post lately! Been busy just getting things done, well, or procrastinating. I've been cleaning, reading, watching Desperate Housewives...etc.

I sort of fell off the workout bandwagon last week during my little vacation. I ran on Thurs, and that's about it. Started back up yesterday. Decided to repeat last week's STS since I only did the first disc. So I did disc #28? again yesterday, ran this morning and will do the plyo legs disc tomorrow morning, run on Thurs with the last STS disc on Friday.

Hope everyone is doing well today. Have a great rest of it!

Hi Rhea,

Oh! I love Desperate Housewife's! Do you watch Brother's & Sister's as well? I do, It comes on right after Housewife's. LOL:D

Glad you started up again with your exercises. I think most people do that. Don't worry about it, you haven't wasted a lot of time. And maybe it was just what your body needed anyway.

Your workouts are more than making up for those few days.

Today was STS disc 16 Chest Shoulders & Triceps and also did Cathe's Wedding Video mid afternoon. Love that one. Trying hard to lose some weight, with success. Yes!

Have a good one.

Janie

Good Evening!

Hi!

Read all your posts. But must get to bed now.

My DD and I worked out today to Hiit Pyramids (my favorite of the Hiits). Halfway through (she's not used to the interval training) she was ready to quit, but she did the whole thing. Said it was a killer workout, but great. :D

We'll probably do some weight work tomorrow. We're having a great time.

Thanks for all your consideration Jeanette and Rhea and Janie.

Jeanette, I love that you do so much sewing and quilting and have such beautiful products.

And Rhea, so good to see that you at least ran one of those days -- vacations are just that -- vacations.

Janie, your workouts look terrific.

Have a super day everyone!:D

Janie - I watch Deperate Housewives on dvd. DH got me hooked, believe it or not. He started watching the reruns on Lifetime and liked the series. So I got them from Netflix and we have been watching the show from day one. It is pretty funny. I just love the characters.

I did not get up this morning, will have do do the plyo legs this lunch time. I just did not want to get up and torture myself first thing. For some reason pylo legs has a dread facture for me. Probably why I did not get it done last week, just didn't want to. But I will today, I've got to get the weight under control and lose some fat percentage.

Okay, back to work for me.

Good Evening!

My DD is still here and we're doing well. Today I did Total Body Sculpting -- time fits into my schedule right now.

I've never seen desperate housewives, but then I don't watch television at all. In truth, I'd rather read. Somehow whenever I used to watch TV -- at the end of it -- all that time was gone with nothing accomplished -- funny how before you'd know it, 2-3 hours had gone by.

Anyway, have a super day tomorrow! Some great workouts. Rhea, did you do that phylo legs?

Hi Janie & Jeanette!:D

KK and Rhea, you both are doing very well with your workouts.

Did Insanity Max Interval Circuit. OM!

Haven't heard from you lately Jeanette. How ya doing?

Janie

Yep, I did the plyo legs at lunch time. I knew it was better to do that one when I'm fully awake. Then I got up and did a run today. Phew, legs are sore. Tomorrow will be the last disc for week #2.

Well, back to work for me. Have a great rest of the evening!

Good Evening!

Today was another Hiit for me. The 30/30, which they say is the easiest of all three workouts. But for me, I find the Pyramids the easiest and most fun. Tomorrow, I'm planning FIRM #4 -- it's the shortest circuit full body workout I can find. Hopefully I'll have time to do it all, if not, I'll probably split up a couple of the Cathe circuits.

Janie, that's great on the insanity workout.

Rhea, go girl! You did it anyway! You deserve a medal. I have a hard time talking myself into some of these workouts sometimes, and often, I lose the argument.

Hi Jeanette! Hope all is well.

Have a super day tomorrow! Rhea, like you, I'm fighting a few extra pound -- about 5. So hard for me to get them off -- the older I get, the harder it is to get them off once they're on.

Okay, again, have a super day.

Yea, I often lose the argument myself KK! In fact, I lost this morning and the bed won!! LOL Actually, when I finally rolled out, boy, had the lactic acid set in even more. Surprised me. I'll still do the last disc today, just at lunch time.

I haven't done a firm for a while. I still need to get all the older ones in DVD, but it might be difficult now that Ms. Benson passed away.

Well, client is here for appointment so I guess I had better get going.

Hi all,
Home today, furlough day from work. Made enchiladas for DH to take to work this morning. He'll be laid off for a few months...

Did STS Disk 19 for chest, shoulders and triceps. Arms still burning. Yesterday was a rest day. Actually, I looked at my notes on STS Disk 19 and it said "challenging". I just wasn't up for it at 5 a.m. yesterday, so skipped.

Rhea, Janie and Karen, sounds like you all are keeping up with the workouts. Good job. I check in with my sister each day. I wish she could find a sport or activity that is fun for her, that she'd stick with, or that would motivate her to get stronger. Oh well.

Must go, it's raining outside so guess I will do some housework and some sewing. Realistically, I'll probably sit on the computer, or watch TV or just piddle some time away.... I'm a slacker...

Jeanette

Good Evening!

Have spent the whole day with my daughter. What a pleasure. No time to work out, I'm afraid. Sigh.

Rhea, I didn't know that Ms. Benson had passed away -- are you talking about Ana? What happened? My gosh am I out of it. I had no idea. When did it happen? How? Etc. There were sisters, right? Is one of them up and going strong?

Anyway, I really didn't know. She must've died fairly young. Of course I didn't know her or anything -- but it seems to me that she must've been young.

Jeanette, hope you had a terrific day. Sounds like a kick-back day for you -- and I can't wait to have these kinds of days again. For now, with a new book coming out soon and much writing to do... I might be busy for a while.

Hi Janie! Hope all is well in your part of the world. Did I tell you that I really like your new quote?

Have a super weekend, everyone.:D
