KK's January 2010 Thread

Did Step Moves today. My O My! This is so much fun! Got all sweaty and breathing hard, loved it.

Tomorrow Joey and I will start another STS series, with Shock Cardio. Well, Shock Cardio for me most likely. I'm looking so forward to this.

Janie

Good Afternoon!

Hi Janie & Jeanette & Rhea!

I forgot to post yesterday -- Hopefully, I'll get back into doing this daily. Just so busy nowadays.

Thanks for all your kind words, Janie. That means alot. And yes, isn't Step Moves quite the workout.

Okay, so yesterday I did the 27 minute Total Body sculpting and then last night the other cardio step -- that I can't remember it's name -- I do shorten them as I can't do that long of a workout nowadays.

Then today I did the MMA -- gosh can't remember what that's called -- anyway did the Fusion -- goodness, what a workout that was -- of course I shortened it and only did 40 minutes -- but what a 40 minutes that was.

Hope everyone is doing well. We're being blasted by rain. I kinda like it.

Have a super day!:D

Hello!!

Not a lot of time to post, electricity is sort of picky today.

Did Disc 19 yesterday morning with Step moves in the afternoon; today was Disc 20 (had to make up for being lazy on Monday.!)

So I'm back on schedule. Don't know what I'll do tomorrow. Maybe one of the MMAs.

Looks like everyone is hanging in there.

Good evening,

Let's see, Monday was my rest day, Tuesday was STS Disk #7 Shoulders, chest, biceps, and today was MMA Kickbox. Haven't been able to get in a walk during the day due to the weather. We haven't gotten what So. California has gotten. '

Karen, you guys are getting hammered with the weather. Hope you are okay. Busy, busy you are. So are the synopsis and chapters a story? Not sure I understand what you are doing. Hope that roof gets fixed, or at least no more damage occurs.

Janie, Step Moves is a lot of fun. I look forward to doing that one again soon. Well, looks like all of us are doing STS in some fashion or another right now.

Rhea, have you done MMA Fusion yet? That one I haven't done yet. Wonder if we'll get a bunch of snow. I'm hoping not.

Good Morning,

Having insomnia this morning, so thought I'd get started on my posting for the day.

KK, Total Body Sculpting is a favorite of mine to as you know. Seems you are doing a great job on your exercises. Haven't done MMA yet, but looking forward to it ASAP.

Rhea, Good job on your workouts. Joey and I will be starting the STS series today. Then will add in the Shock Cardio as we go along as well.

Jeanette, Looks like you are doing a great job on your exercises too. Good for you. Joey and I start with the first disk today. If I remember correctly, there are a lot of push ups.

Have a good one,

Janie

Morning,
Don't think I posted yesterday. Power was out, but we used the generator in the evening so I got online for a little bit, then got to do some more sewing. Power was back on this morning so I did STS Disk 8, back and triceps. No workout yesterday. We have snow, darn it. We need it so I'll just suck it up.

Janie, how was Disk 1? It feels frantic at first, but I'm more organized each time I do an STS rotation. Sometimes, though, I just pause and take my time. I'm getting great results again with STS, but I've been really watching my eating.

Hi to everyone.

Hi Jeanette,

I'm very excited to be doing STS again as well. Then to add Shock Cardio on top of that. I'm in 7th heaven! Joey and I pause too, we still get through it. LOL Oh my, I truly have to watch what I eat too. I've gained so many pounds during and after the holidays. I think I gained about 20 pounds. I was so bad. Anyway, I'm back to exercising again and loving it. Hopefully I don't ever do that to my body again.

Take care and know we are in this together.

Janie

Hello!

Yep, no power for me yesterday too, so no workout unless you consider Nintendo DS a workout! lol

Today I'll be back at it with Disc #21. I don't know what type of results I am getting yet since I have yet to rein in the eating properly. I go good for a while, then poof I'm bad. I'll get there, just one step at a time. My legs are sore from Disc #20, I totally went up in the weights for some of the exercises and I sure feel it.

Well, off to workout!

Did disk 2, back and triceps.

Rhea, I know what Nintendo is, but what is DS stand for? I bet it was fun.

I'm hot and cold as far as the exercising goes too. But, I think we just have to keep going. It's hard sometimes isn't it? Geesh!

Congratulations going up in weight. That is really cool! Good job.

Janie

Went to Reno again today for discount shopping on home stuff....got some more doors.

Janie - I'm not sure exactly what the DS stands for....I have one of the little hand held Nintendos, not a gameboy, but the next one...they call it Nintendo DS Lite.

Oh, yesterday I added a little of MMA Kick Boxing on....oooh, that one's fun. I think I 'm going to do the whole thing tomorrow. I did the warm up and the first combo yesterday. (after I did Disc #21, or 22, can't remember the number...back and biceps.) I think I might have been a little too heavy on the dead lifts, the small of my back was bothering me a bit today.

Have a great rest of the weekend, got to go unpack all the groceries.

Hi,
Let's see, today was Pyramid Shock Cardio (can't remember the name). It's a good one and the time flew. Liked the pyramid part of it. Then followed it up with the abs from Travel Fit. Tomorrow will be disk 9 of STS - Legs. I was thinking I had a rest week next week, but no, one more week of Meso 1.

Went to Reno today to get some fabric with a girlfriend. We had a good time. Also saw our son and his family. Nice trip.

Janie, glad you are enjoying STS again. I like the shorter cardio workouts and have been wearing my HRM for them for inspiration.

Rhea, the first time I did STS, I had to watch it on the deadlifts. They are easier now for some reason, back was much better this past year, but who knows, things can happen just like that, and for no reason some time. My mom has some kind of pinched nerve right now that's really painful. She doesn't even know how she did it.

Hi Karen, hope you can sit down and take a break. Life's too short to not enjoy it.

Must go sew my blocks together for my quilt.

J.

Good Afternoon!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Janie!

Oh, Jeanette, I think the Pyramid workout on the new Hiit is my favorite, too. I did that one yesterday -- today was my day off. And it's been a really good day off. On Friday, despite the rain, my DH and I set off down San Diego way to get a motherboard for my computer and pick up some other things -- saving shipping.

It was a fun day, being with my DH and despite the rain, we really enjoyed ourselves.:)

Rhea, I think it was on Thursday that I did the MMA Kickbox and I, too, really enjoyed it. What a fun workout -- I did shorten it, however, because of the time. And believe it or not, my back muscles screamed at me -- I didn't injure them --- they just screamed.

I didn't think it'd been that long since I posted. I'm going to have to get better on this. Please forgive me -- just busy trying to get busy...

We had power throughout the storm, thank goodness -- but goodness it's cold. Am so sorry that you lost power. Never fun -- you both have wood stoves, though, don't you?

Anyway, I'm off again to get some more things done. Am really enjoying these new workouts. Each one is fun and a surprise.

Have a super evening, everyone! And a terrific day tomorrow!:D

Did the bag workout today. Fantastic! It was so much fun!

Rhea, What are you using the doors for? Do be careful with your back. I use lighter weight than what I'm suppose to use according to the IRM that goes along with the STS series.

Jeanette, Seems you are coming along with the STS series nicely. Legs are hard for me.LOL:confused:

Are you still making quilts with your mom?

Tell me, is a HRM worth the money? Cause I'm thinking maybe purchasing one.

KK, So glad to see you are enjoying life instead of working constantly. I sometimes worry about you being to busy. ;)

I've just begun enjoying the new workouts and so far I have to agree with you. They are a lot of fun.

Janie

Hello!

Janie - I use my HRM all the time. I really like the information it gives me. The doors are for the new house that we are going to build. We are trying to buy as much of the finish work as we can so we can save moulah.

Yesterday I started Week 4 of Meso #2. I was going to add on some cardio, but just did not want to by the end of the day. I even was going to get up and do the workout in the morning, but I forgot to turn the alarm back on, darn it.

Well, have a great rest of the day everyone!

Hi all,
I'm sitting here previewing MMA Fusion, as I'm going to do it in the morning. Looks like it will be fun. Not sure about some of the rolling moves that come up with the knees crossed. Won't know until I try them.

Let's see, Sunday's workout was STS Legs, Disk #9, which I'm still feeling in my hamstrings. Monday's workout was Step Moves, with the abs from MMA Boxing. Today was STS Disk 10, Chest, Shoulders and Biceps.

Rhea, I like the slower pace of Meso #2 out of the whole STS, though I've not completed Meso 3 yet.

Janie, I have a HRM and think it motivates me. Calorie burn is always lower than what I think it should be, but oh well. Mom isn't quilting with us, but hopefully, she'll come back to it. She recently pinched a nerve in her back and is in a lot of pain. Think she will be having an MRI soon. Poor thing, hope she starts feeling better soon.

Karen, glad you had a good time with your DH in San Diego. I'd like to go there sometime. I hear Balboa Park is nice.

Must go,

Good Afternoon!

I forgot to post yesterday -- didn't remember until I was in bed and ready to go to sleep. Sigh. Life is busy. Busier now than when I was happily employed.

Anyway, yesterday was MM 1/2 of it -- about 40 minutes -- and then today was 4DS, cardio (anaerobics only) of Bootcamp. Tomorrow, I plan on doing the rest of MM. Just have to split these up nowadays. Last night before I went to sleep, I needed to do something short -- so I did the warm up and stretch of MMB Kickbox -- 16 or 17 minutes about -- perfect before I went to bed -- and the warm ups are so good that it got the old heart rate up there.

Jeanette, I have to modify those rolls up to the knees -- when I did it as they do, my lower back really protested -- I didn't hurt it -- just I don't use those muscles very much and so for a few days, I was sore. I'll build up to those, I think. You know, we went down there -- to San Diego -- for work so we didn't get to do anything fun like that. But it was wonderful -- absolutely wonderful -- to be together for that length of time -- we are both of us so busy.

Rhea, your workouts look good. How smart of you both to buy things for the new house now. Good thinking.;)

Janie, I, too, have to watch the weight. I try to go as heavy as I can without over doing it. At my age, what I really want is not to build anything, but rather to keep firm and in good shape, that which I have.:) I think it's in my nature to be busy. I would so rather not be, but in this day and age, I think one needs to be a little active, lest we lose it.

Anyway, have a super day, everyone. I so love that you're quilting, Rhea and Jeanette. I so admire this kind of work, although I'm not talented in this direction. Have a good day.

Rhea, Building a house is such an undertaking! Wow! Congratulations.

You are going to like Week 4 Meso 2. A little more intense and If I remember not so many push ups. LOL

Jeanette, Did you like doing MMA Fusion? I viewed it, but haven't done it yet either. Let me know how it goes. Great workouts the last couple of days.

Awwwwe, I sure hope your mom will feel better soon. Have they figured where the nerve is pinching yet?

KK, If I remember, you've been very busy ever since I've met you. You poor thing.

Modifying the workouts to work in your schedule is great. You are doing a good job. I too am doing that.

Yes, that's what I want too, at my age. Just to keep toned and moving so I don't tighten up so much.

Janie

Good evening,
Today's workout was MMA Fusion. It was okay, but I struggled with the combos, though they aren't tough cardiovascular wise. It's not my favorite, but is different. You go from standing up, to the floor, then jump back up again. Again, not my favorite moves, but I wasn't bored.

Karen, sorry life is so busy for you, but then again, that could be your comfort zone. I was surprised that none of the moves bothered my knees today in MMA Fusion. I really thought they might when I saw the previews. I'm so glad that I started sewing again last year. Such a relaxing hobby for me, and an indoor one for a change. I sewed the backing of my newest quilt tonite together. Will have to put the backing together with it and send it to the long arm quilters soon. I'll attach a picture of it so you guys can see it. It's called "Orion's Star". That's our little Tillie on the quilt already. Guess she wanted her picture taken too.:p

Janie, I didn't talk to my Mom today, but will tomorrow. My sister was going to call her and recommend she go to a chiropractor, but I know Mom won't do that. On a scale of 1-10, I liked MMA Fusion about a 7. Mind you, I'm not a big kickbox fan either.

Talk to you guys tomorrow. I have STS Disk 11, Back and Triceps tomorrow.

Good Evening!

Well, I took the day off today and went shopping, something I really enjoy. Not that I spent much money, but I had to take some shoes back (they hurt and they left black marks on my carpet and kitchen floor) and then I got some others. I was suprised because almost everything was on sale and I got the shoes at a real bargain.

Anyway, today was the last 35 minutes of MM -- really tested me -- cause I've been doing mostly Total Body Sculpting -- and so it really tested me.:)

Jeanette, I love that quilt. I made it larger so I could see it better. I love the colors and I love the design. It reminds me very much of the Star Quilts that the Lakota make. Very beautiful -- Fusion wasn't my favorite either -- but like you, it didn't injure me going up and down. I really did like the MMA Kickbox -- last night I did 25 minutes of MMA Boxing -- must admit that I'm not at all interested in boxing, but boy, did that work me.

Hi Janie, yeah, I have to modify many of the workouts -- and I never go as heavy as Cathe does -- but then she's quite a bit younger than I am. But again, I'm not really interested in building muscle, just keeping fit.

Rhea, it must be fun going shopping for a new house. I can imagine...it would really be a fun experience.

Okay, well, after doing all of the workouts -- at least in part -- the MMA's I haven't done in full yet -- just part of the workouts -- but I think my favorites are Hiit -- and the one I like best is 30/30 -- is that right? The next would be the pyramids and then 40/20 -- which I think is the toughest.

What's your favorites of the new workouts. Okay, well, I must get ready for bed now. Have a super day tomorrow.:D

Good Evening!

Today was 30/30 -- the new Hiit that I like best. Will do something tonight also mostly cause I'm trying to get my weight down. Sigh...

Hope you all have a super weekend. :D
