KK's April Rotation

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Today was Shape It Up. Yesterday had a group bike ride, not many miles but nice company and a stop at Starbucks for a non-fat latte with sugar-free hazelnut, yummy!

Went out with DH and the dogs yesterday for a nice walk out in the desert. It was fun to get out. Went to Reno on Saturday and bought DH a pair of boots, while I got a pair of jeans and a couple pairs of shorts at Sportsman's Warehouse. It was nice over there and got to visit with our DS.

Tomorrow will be a trip up to Lake Tahoe to DH's shoulder doc for a checkup and then return to do a bike club time trial in the evening. Hope the weather is okay for both events.

I haven't used Fitday.com for a while and when I went to it, it has a new version so now I have to enter all my custom foods in again...grrr. Must make the time to do that soon.

Have to go now, hope to hear from everyone soon. Great workouts!

Jeanette

Good morning everyone!

Haven't heard from Rhea or Karen, hope you guys are okay, probably just busy.

Did a cardio combo from MIC (most of hi-lo), then switched to the Timesavers and did the hi-lo and part of KPC from that for about 65 minutes including the stretch. I'm really getting to where I like mixing and matching from various DVD's. Guess I get a little bored and don't want to stick with one thing so short segments work good for me.

Rhea, I'm still thinking about ordering the Turbo Jam (original one), just haven't pushed to button to do it yet. I like it that some of the workouts are shorter so I can mix and match too.

Karen, hope the tour is going well and know you're probably not lost now that you have the GPS. They had a segment on the news last night about GPS's and geocaching for kids. It is fun to get out and find the treasure. When this weather shapes up, I will take my grandson out again as he had a blast when I took him before.

It's raining outside now. DH and I will be heading up to Tahoe this morning. Don't think we'll have snow, but probably rain. Bike Time Trial in the evening if it's not raining. I'm definitely not into riding in the rain. You get soaking wet from the raining coming off of the road onto you from the wheels, not to mention the rain coming down on you. We'll see. Our reservoirs are filled up around here so that's really good. I see the trees are budding now too so spring may be around the corner. We sure need the sunshine to make the grass grow for the cattle.

Must boogie. Oh yeah, helped DH on the Bowflex last night. I usually put on some music, fan and help move the power rods for him and write down his weights. He's doing really well and already you can see more muscle definition. Not fair! He has a lot of natural muscle in his arms, just need to burn more fat and he's trying to eat better so I'm thrilled. Anyway, only takes about 1/2 hour total and he's feeling pumped up. I didn't work out with him cuz I'd worked out in the morning.

Will check in tomorrow.

Jeanette :7

Good morning,

DH's trip to dr. was good. Dr. was pleased with his shoulder, one more month of weight restriction at work (from 25# to 50#) and then he will release him at the end of the month.

No bike time trial yesterday afternoon due to rain! Waaaah!!! So tired of it but looks like it may get better by the end of the week. If it's not raining after work, will try to get a 20 mile ride in.

Today's workout was Firm It Up. Wow, what a butt burner this one always is. Very repetitive, but effective. Last night, DH and I worked out on the Bowflex and had a good time. He's showing lots of improvement and definition already.

Guess everyone's busy? I'm feeling lonely...

Jeanette

Hellooooo?

Today's workout was a combo of step from Imax 2 (4 intervals) and Timesavers step combos for about 1 hour. Yesterday's bike ride didn't happen as it was sprinkling when I got off work and I just didn't feel like going out in that.

My grandma (age 91) is here visiting so I'll get over to see her after work today and then have a bike club meeting at 6, so a busy night.

Good workouts,

Jeanette

Good morning,

A rainy day here AGAIN! Just wanted to post that I did a Tae Bo (Ripped) workout yesterday, one that I hadn't done before. It really kicked my butt, much harder than Cathe for me. I was wringing wet. Amazing to me what our bodies get used to and then we need to shock them. This was a shocker! It was fun. Not something I want to do all the time, but boy I burned some calories (or felt like I did anyway).

Have a family doings today for Easter so better get a move on. Karen/Rhea hope you guys are okay.

Jeanette

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Sorry it has taken me so long to post -- been touring and away from the internet - haven't been able to connect in my room -- and the business centers here in Florida are charging $1.99 per minute to connect to the internet -- can you believe?

Anyway, have to make this fast, as for whatever reason, I keep getting kicked off the internet -- I've tried posting several times already.

So glad to see that you're keeping in there, Jeanette -- I, too, love Tae Bo -- I will have to get his workouts out again -- I know he really kicks butt -- I think I have get ripped -- but I've been a little scared to do it -- it looks so advanced.

And glad to see that your hubby is doing well.

Am keeping up with the workouts, but the touring has been heavy -- all day and and evening long -- this is my first day off -- and so have been mixing walking with weights outside -- however, I've done Cathe today (Bootcamp) and yesterday -- forget what I did yesterday --- I think it was a step routine.

Anyway, am afraid of getting kicked off again, so will just say to hang in there -- hopefully I'll be home soon -- and will check in every time I have a chance. Have some great workouts, everyone.:7

Hi Karen, Rhea, Natalie & Jeanie:

Karen, sooooo good to hear from you!!!! I've missed reading your posts so much. Glad you were able to get on for just a minute. Wow, $1.99 per minute!

Yesterday was a complete rest day and yes, we have about 3" of snow on the ground. It rained all day yesterday and then late afternoon turned to snow. My mom and Grandma will be traveling up to Washington, leaving late this morning so I will be thinking and praying for their safety. We had a great Easter with the family, DH oven cooked chicken (very yummy), couple of salads, beans, desserts, it was all soo good. Day before that (Saturday), I went with Mom and Grandma to look for clothes with them in Chester. My mom hit the jackpot and found lots of clothes for their trip to the Azores in July. She and Dad are going and us kids will be paying for the air fare as our 50th anniversary gift for them. Know they will have a wonderful time. My grandma also found 3 nice tops and a pair of pants. I just had fun bringing them clothes to try on and giving feedback. An enjoyable day.

Today's workout was combos from Rhythmic Step and then 2 step combos from MIC. Tonite will workout on Bowflex with DH.

Karen, I was surprised how tough Tae Bo was, but then I remembered that I had never done this workout on the DVD (it was the more advanced one). Think the other one is easier, but still kicked my butt when I used to do it before Cathe. I do think Billy is motivating. Got to say, I never get tired of Cathe's demeanor and voice. She's the best I've found, though my experience is very limited, but variety is nice to have.

Must get going now. Glad the tour is successful.

Jeanette

Good morning!

I'm finally able to post. My puter at home is so slow that I don't always get to post. I was on vacation last week and even took vacation from the workouts. I ended up painting my workout room on Sat, Sun and Mon. Tues I got to workout, but Wed-Sun, nothing. We went to San Francisco and watched the Giants and ate bad for you food. (garlic fries are wonderful, but yucky for the bod!)

I was going to fast this weekend and ended up eating because of extreme cramping. I don't think my body liked the drink mix stuff. I might try again this weekend after a week of good eating, but I'm not so sure I want that type of pain again.

I'm not sure which workout will get done tonight. First day back at work is hectic so I might have no energy tonight.

Good to be back and read all about everyone!

Talk to you tomorrow.

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Well, have managed to go online with my dial-up computer in my room, but it keeps kicking me off line. Sigh... But at least I'm able to log on.

Am in Jacksonville at the moment -- and it is so beautiful here -- I didn't realize how gorgeous the south is -- the big, gracious trees with heavy moss hanging off them. Did you know that that moss is supposed to be a sort of "fountain of youth"? Interesting.

Anyway, I'd heard that upper state CA was getting snow. Hope your relatives managed those roads without a problem, Jeanette. And shopping... Oh, how I love shopping. And what fun to shop for clothes for your mom's 50th anniversary -- you know they'll love the trip. What a terrific thing to do.

And Rhea -- painting your workout room -- reminds me of how much needs to be done at my house -- but then, I just can't wait to get home again. I'll love it, unpainted and all, I'm afraid.

We don't get TV at home -- I'm allergic to all the drug ads, I think -- and so we don't get some of the great channels like Animal Planet and I've been engrossed (as I sit here making bookmarks for the tour) with the wild cats that they've been showing. Makes me miss my cats at home.

Well, the tour is only another couple of weeks and then home to a very heavy deadline. Another deep sigh.

For me today it was a 30 minute walk and then stretch with Cathe. I think you're right, Jeanette. I enjoy Cathe so much. I like Tae Bo and alot of the others, but I think Cathe is tops.

Tomorrow is either IMAX2 or Sprint 8 for me outside. Have some great workouts everyone and a terrific day.:7

Good morning Karen, Rhea and anyone else!

Today was Tone It Up and last night worked out on the Bowflex with DH. Fun working out with him and he's really improving and showing better muscle tone.

Karen, I would someday like to see the South, but don't think I'd like the humidity and heat. Glad the tour is going well and it'll be nice when you are back home again with DH and your cats!

Rhea, hope the stomach pains are gone now. Can't be a good feeling at all. Sorry your computer is slow, I just signed my mom up for Frontier DSL, and myself too. I have hi-speed, but it's Digitalpath and during inclement weather it can have problems. They'll be installing the DSL on Friday and I'll go over to mom's as she and Grandma are on their trip up to Washington. She struggles so much with dial-up, she'll never go back after DSL!

Have a bike ride after work today, weather should be nice too. Did get to wear shorts on Friday to cycle in and it was nice, but oh my legs are pale!

Must go now. My poor daughter's mare had a baby (a filly) and the baby's leg was extremely crooked. They took the mare and baby to the vet's office down in Redding and he suggested surgery, but it will be pretty costly so they had to have the baby put down. So sad. I will call her today. Owning horses can be rewarding but heartbreaking at times too.

Jeanette

Well, I ended up doing Cardio Party #3 and Ab Jam. I used the weighted hand gloves. Whoa, talk about an upper body workout.

So sad to hear about the filly. That is just too heart renching, I'd be out of commission and have to take a day off. :(

Drive safe on your tour Karen. When do you get to go home?

Have great workouts everyone!

Hi everyone,

Rhea, I ordered the original Turbo Jam and am looking forward to it. Way to work the upper body! Hope you're not too sore. I need to start getting outside and cleaning up the yard and property

Thanks for the kind thoughts on the filly. I called my daughter and she's doing okay.

Today's workout was Charlene Prickett's High Intensity, Low Impact aerobics. I do enjoy this one once in a while, though the intensity isn't Cathe's at all, but I like to vary my cardio intensities anyway. I did a bike ride with a couple guys yesterday after work, 28 miles with lots of hills and pushed at an intensity I haven't ridden since last year. Good ride, though, and I'm happy with my cardio capacity. Just need to work on the leg endurance now with some longer rides. There is a club ride down in Palo Cedro on Sunday. I was thinking that all the squats and lunges in Firm It Up have helped with leg endurance as I did better than I thought I would yesterday. Have a ride with my girlfriends (there will be 4 of us) tomorrow after work. Looking forward to it.

Karen, am thinking of you doing your touring. Stay safe and know you won't get lost with the GPS. Bet it really comes in handy.

Have a potluck at work today. Will help DH pack up the trailer as he's going pig hunting down in the valley on Friday afternoon. He'll be gone all weekend. I have a branding to go to in the valley on Saturday and then a bike ride on Sunday. Guess I'd better do some yard work on Friday. Hmmm... guess I'd better factor in some housework too, though it'll probably get the least amount of time allocated to it.

Great workouts today!

Jeanette

Hello everyone!

Jeanette - Sunshine!!!!!! Feels so good. I'm ready to get out in the yard. Plus, over the leach field, there is a two foot jungle. There is still water on top though, so I don't know how the heck we are going to mow it!

Oh, I just realized what time it is, I'll come back later....

Hi everyone,

I'm still working through the April rotation but when the weather's nice, I've been substituting a walk/run for the cardio workouts.

Today is Leaner Legs and then Core 3.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Natalie

Hi Rhea, Natalie, Karen & Jeanie!

Yep, Rhea, I know about the jungle over the leach field! Got that going too. This sunshine is really making everything green up and grow. Don't know how much time I'll have for yardwork as I have to sit at my mom's house on Friday and wait for the internet hookup guy to come. Could use up most of the day.

Way to go, Natalie, on the April rotation. Yep, I'm ready to get out and start running too. This week's been too busy. Nice to hear from you.

Worked out on the Bowflex last night with DH and really pushed so today I got out Bryan Kest's Power Yoga: Tone. Have a bike ride after work today with 4 other ladies so that's my cardio for the day. The weather should be nice and I'm really looking forward to this ride. Have to go to work 1/2 hour earlier to get off earlier so headed to bed about 8:30 last night. Couldn't resist some popcorn with DH so am puffy this morning, and with the potluck yesterday, well let's just say I need the bike ride tonite. Actually, I was pretty good at the potluck, for me, anyway. Back to clean eating today. DH has lost 3 pounds now since he started working out with me, and that's with no cardio, just cutting back a bit on the beer and making a few wiser eating choices. I could probably run a marathon (not that I really could, just an example) and not lose a pound. It's just not fair!

Anyway, hope everyone's workouts make you feel good today!

Jeanette

Good morning!

Natalie - so good to hear from you. Glad things are going well.

Karen - hope that you are okay on your tour and the weather is being nice to you.

Jeanette - DH managed to get the jungle mowed, sort of, so of it just layed down, but its a start. Maybe with the shorter grass it will dry out. But then again, it is supposed to rain this weekend. My DH drops the pounds real easily too, I think it is totally unfair. I have to really work hard for any type of weight loss.

Didn't workout yesterday, had to run to Reno to get the spare key in the car fixed. I tried to use it (DH had my keys) and it wouldn't start the car and I managed to get it stuck in the ignition. It needed to be reprogramed. Darn these foreign jobs....At least it was an absolutely beautiful drive and about 70 degrees in Reno.

Today, probably a TJ, and a longer workout. I feeling the need for that..

Have a great day!

Hi Jeanette & Rhea & Natalie & Jeanie!:)

Am finally at a hotel that has a computer one can use for free. Yea!

Natalie -- so good to hear from you and good work on that rotation.

Rhea -- it's great to hear from you, too. Sunshine -- wow! I'm so glad you've gotten it at last. What a winter you've had, huh?

Jeanette -- there are so many things to say -- that is so cool that your hubby has lost 3 lbs. And so cool that you are staying with your workouts. I, too, like Rhea, am sorry to hear about the foul -- it's so sad. I'm glad that you are there for your friend.

Was thinking about you today when I met a bookseller who does spinning -- she runs, too. I don't run into many that do exercise and so this was refreshing.

Well, Rhea and Jeaanette, I, too, have just bought the Turbo Jam series -- the original ones, I believe -- saw them on TV and the music and moves look like fun, so I think I'll give it a try.

It was a Sprint 8 for me today -- when in Macon, GA, the room where I was staying was way moldy -- and I'm allergic to mold and the first night I got almost no sleep -- luckily I travel with an ozonator and so I was able to get rid of much of the mold -- but it was in the bed and that's hard to get rid of once it's there -- managed to get it contained enough so that I was able to sleep without waking up with the "mold headache." Am planning some sort of weight workout tomorrow. Am in Atlanta now -- these are some busy, tough days here in Atlanta -- once it's done, the tour is almost over -- and then it's home. Turned West for the first time yesterday when I was on the road -- boy, what a good feeling that was. I am so homesick.

Anyway, have a great day tomorrow -- terrific workouts everyone!:7

Good morning Rhea,

Glad the jungle was mowed, haven't even attempted any of that yet and probably won't this weekend as DH will be pig hunting down around Red Bluff and I'll probably need him to get the riding mower started as it's sat all winter. Glad you got the key repaired. The weather was absolutely gorgeous yesterday afternoon. Our bike ride was wonderful, with 5 of us gals out there. I actually rode in shorts and a sleeveless jersey. I tend to ride in cooler clothes than the other gals as I hate to be hot on climbs.

I haven't heard anything on my TJ order yet at all, guess BB is terrible for that. I'll just be patient for a while.

Jeanette

Hi everyone,

It was a short cardio (a few different combos) from the Timesavers for me today, will work out with weights tonite on the Bowflex. Really liking that. Have lots to do today so needed to cut it short.

Have to go to my mom's and wait for the DSL tech guy to come set hers up. The window that he'll be there is 8:30 to 2:00. Could be good and could be bad. I'll get to visit with Dad though.

Will be going to Willows for a branding tomorrow and will skip the out of town ride on Sunday due to the price of gas. Will do the group ride here.

Yesterday's bike ride was fun. We had 5 ladies and we did a short hill climb and then did the flat loop for around 25 miles. The weather was very nice and I was able to ride in shorts and a sleeveless jersey. One of the ladies has a new road bike and it was her first time on it and with clipless pedals. She did great and never fell over, which can be common for first time clipless users (think Arte Johnson from Laugh In on the trike). We'll be doing a ladies ride once a week and I'll be trying for a harder ride with the guys once a week and then an endurance ride on the weekend. That's the plan that I think will keep me strong. When I get my horse back from Son-in-law, will be fitting that riding in too, along with yardwork so will be busy, busy. DH and I have discussed doing shorter, closer to home camping trips this summer, due to the price of gas.

Karen, wow, you got the Turbo Jams too? Have you received any kind of shipping notification? I haven't seen a thing yet. Yuk, mold doesn't sound good. I guess you get that along with humidity in the South. Not sure how I'd do in the humidity, I'd probably droop.

Must go now,

Jeanette

Good morning all!

Yes, BB is not super good with the customer service. Sometimes I recieved my e-mails about the shipping after they arrived. They come from Orange County, CA, so they come pretty fast. Karen will get her's real fast. I just love TJ. In fact yesterday, something got into me and I was just a workout animal. I did the Cardio Party #3 with the weighted gloves and then did the Fat Blaster (which has four turbos....you learn about those turbos soon...) I didn't use the gloves in the Fat Blaster. I also added on an ab workout that came with the first TJ package, Yoga Booty Ballet Hip Hop Abs. I wasn't impressed with it, don't know if I'll ever do it again. I'm not that coordinated. The whole workout was about 1:43 and I burned off 666 Cals with 40% of that being fat calories. I slept great last night, wore myself out. The cat was lucky that she was able to wake me up to go out!
