KK's April Check-In

Author

Good Evening!:)

Thought I'd start the new check in. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Am still in detox mode. Goodness! Am looking at getting the CTX series, however, the series that I've been wanting for so long. Hopefully, I'll be able to get this in the next few days. That would be so cool.

Well, on Sunday evening, I try to look at the coming week and figure out the schedule. I'll still be doing a more or less intermediate workout schedule until I get out of this detox mode. I am utterly amazed that this bit goes on and on. Now there's a white-ish sac underneath the skin where the bite was. Goodness gracious.

Hopefully, I just keep detoxing and wash it all out of the body.

Here's the plan for next week:

Mon: IMAX2 -- first half of the workout
Tues: Supersets -- I may keep doing this until I'm out of detox mode
Wed: Cardio (about 30 minutes) and a stretch
Thurs: Push/Pull -- again I may keep doing these workouts until this detox is done.
Fri: Drill Max premix -- the 6 drills only plus warm up and cool down
Sat: HSC -- premix
Sun: Off -- it's almost the exact same schedule as last week -- am just not quite up to the hour long workouts right now, but hope to get back there soon.

Work wise, I'm pushing for 10 pages a day. Friday was not a good day production wise -- only 5 pages and so I spent Sat morning working, as well. This is the last month before deadline and so I really have to push it.

Can't wait to hear about your weekends.

Have a super day, everyone and terriifc workouts!:7

Good morning,

Today was Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout. Wow, what a burner for some of these. Can't believe that 3#ers can burn so much. I remember starting out with this one a few years ago and it still gets me! I did the stretch, upper body workout, lower body ankle weight and abs. Time flew by.

DH and I went to the desert on Saturday and had a nice time, though it was very dusty. Yesterday's group bike ride was a good hill workout. Rested the rest of the day.

Karen, enjoy Imax2 today, know it is one of your favorites. Do you think the bite is infected and needs to be cleansed out? Seems so odd that it is still going on.

Jeanette

Good afternoon!

I'm procrastinating at work so here I am!

Karen - so glad that you are on the mend. Great review on the book coming out this June. Don't work too hard, I know you will get the book done in time. You always do.

Jeanette, it was so windy this weekend. I thought it was going to be a bit warmer, but the wind, yuck. I managed to get some yard work done, not much. I'm not very toleratant of the wind factor, for some reason, it can just annoy me and put me in a bad mood.

I did workout this weekend though. Yippee. I did Low Max on Friday, BM2 on Saturday and Cardio Party #1 yesterday. I really like the April rotation, so I'm starting that today. Funny thing is, I was planning on doing Gym style legs already! So I'm starting off with a bang.

Becky - sure hope you are doing okay!

Talk to you later....

Good Evening!:)

Well, today I had much more energy with the workout -- I'd taken to doing the IMAX's low impact, but I was jumping on most of them today, so hopefully that's good. Tomorrow is either Push/Pull or Supersets -- I forget which.

Jeanette -- I like Karen Voight, too, but I don't have but 2 of her workouts. She has some good workouts, though, and she's a trooper like Cathe, I think. Glad that the ride was good and that you had some great time with your hubby.:)

Rhea -- Your workout schedule is impressive. Those are all tough workouts -- wow! I gotta reorder Charlene's workouts again. I miss them (gave them to my daughter). But I'll probably get them after the CTX series, which I'm planning to get real soon. Sorry about the wind. I usually like the wind, but sometimes we get those "devil winds" and they bring in the heat and positive ions and just make you fell like...x(

The bite -- I hadn't thought about getting it cleaned out -- maybe -- it is just now starting to look pusy under the skin, but I'm still hoping it will just detox down into nothing. These black widow bites are heavy.

It was 8 pages for me today and I was lucky to get them in because I had company stop over this afternoon. Whew!

Well have a dazzling day and some super workouts!:7

Good morning,
Today was the Timesaver Cardio for BM2. Have a tax appointment after work today and then a short spin around the loop.

Rhea, you are doing some really fun workouts! Way to go on doing the April rotation.

Karen, enjoy your weight workout today. How is the bite today? If it were me, I'd head to the doctor, but that's me. I wouldn't mess around with a poisonous spider bite. Especially if it's still lingering after all this time. But then again, maybe it's improving?

Jeanette

Yippee, It's Tuesday.

Well, I was good and did the GS legs and the stability ball abs from B&G yesterday. I'm surprised I can walk today. Of course, I may have to revisit the question of walking this afternoon when the muscle soreness really should set in. I think Step Blast and an ab section is on the rotation for today. That should warm up my legs a bit.

Well, gotta run to court. Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!:)

Jeanette -- Taxes, ugh! Hope your appointment went well. We almost always file an extention cause I'm usually on some kind of deadline -- and so we'll do that again this year -- and then get the taxes done probably in May or something.

How is the TimeSaver from BM2 -- I haven't done that one yet.

The bite? It is getting better. And I take it as a good indicator that I'm detoxing from it -- don't want it lingering in the body -- it's just strange that it came back to haunt me after 2 months.

Rhea -- Boy, you are getting real impressive there, Rhea. Those are some more tough workouts. I'm still sort of playing patticake until I'm through this detox. Hope court was good.

Changed to Push/Pull today, cause I was tired. But wrote 11 pages, which is always good. And got a super review today from another reveiwere for the new book coming out in June. Reminds me that a tour is coming up, as well.

Tomorrow is a short cardio -- probably from one of Cathe's early workouts -- and a stretch.

Sure hope you're okay out there, Becky. When I have the time, I might go lurk on some other sites to see if she's posting. I sure hope all is okay.

Ten page target again tomorrow. Have a super, dazzling day and terrific workouts!:7

Hi there!

Yesterday was Step Blast, along with an ab hits segment. I didn't quite do 10 minutes, I just did the first segment which I think was only 8 minutes, but that was enough! It was the abs from MIS, youch...no rest between and constant movement. I was tired from the workout mainly because I had low blood sugar right in the middle of Step Blast. I really hate that....but I pushed through after stopping and munching on some nuts. I think I had too much fruit yesterday afternoon before working out.

Today is weight work with the bonus cardio. I might do a Turbo Jam 20 minutes instead of the one minute cycles. I'm not sure though, I don't have stairs to run up and down for one thing, really not much room to do the walking lunges....oh I just don't know.

Karen - have you ever read your reviews on the Barnes & Noble website? They are pretty good and I think you have five circles on most of the reveiws! Good luck on your page count today.

Jeanette - that bike ride must have been great yesterday, the weather is warming up. Yippee! I'm going to get my mountain bike fixed so I can do some trail riding again. The only thing that ever bugs me is my wrists, but I can work through that.

Talk to y'all later!

Good Evening!:)

Hi Rhea! How kind you are to say such good things about my the reviews on Barnes & Noble. I love that store.

No, I don't usually go and look at the reviews and that sort of thing -- if a reviewer sends one to me, I know it's pretty good and so I'll read it, but other than that I don't. When I first started in this business, it was some advice I got from another veteran author, who told me to ignore the reviews, good and bad -- otherwise you can drive yourself crazy with them.

Your workouts have reminded me that I have yet to look at Cathe's April rotation -- and I should go and look. :+ Really impressed with your workouts, Rhea, and how you're keeping right onto what you set out to do.

I have a similar problem with blood sugar. Too much fruit can send mine over the edge. Let me pass along something that I read that can help possibly, which is easy and cheap -- and it's cinnamon. It's supposed to help regulate it.

Jeanette -- hope you're okay and not too down with that tax interview. Geez, I didn't call our accountant -- I need to do that tomorrow.

I did go ahead and send Becky a private email, just to make sure she's okay. Hope to hear from her soon.

Well, it was one of Cathe's old steady-state cardios today and a stretch. Oh, thought I'd pass along this link from Tom Venuto's newsletter -- really interesting stuff.

Okay, well have a super evening and a great day tomorrow and happy workouts!

Good morning,
Looks like my post yesterday morning got lost for some reason. Anyways, yesterday I did Jari Love's GR 1000. This morning was a Karen Voight yoga session. I have a hill climb bike workout after work today.

Rhea, you are doing awesome on your rotation. Way to go! Glad you are getting your bike fixed. Good biking weather coming up!

Karen, the tax appointment went very well. Thanks for asking. Visited my niece and her new baby boy yesterday after work. That was very nice. I held him, but he never woke up. Think he slept a lot yesterday. Bet he was up all night.

Jeanette

Good morning...

So far, so good on the rotation. I did the GS chest and tri (such a burner) and a bonus cardio. I didn't do the one minute stuff, just didn't want to do jumping jacks, etc. So I added on the 20 minute TJ.
Today is supposed to be a 45 min. indoor or outdoor bike. Since I don't have a working bike, I'll have to do something else. Plus I think I'll be running to Reno to get the spacers on my rims (something that the rim manufacturer forgot to send with the rims, so I have a vibration at certain speeds.) We're going to San Fran this weekend, so I want to have the balance all corrected.

Well, gotta run. Must get lots of work done before going to Reno!

Good morning,
Today was Jari Love's Get Ripped To The Core. It was actually tougher than I'd pictured. Lots of shoulder work in it. I like the compound exercises. Last night was my hill climb workout. Good one. Rushed around and made a couple of desserts for work today as it's my boss's last day in our department. He's moving on to Business Services, but I'll still work for him part time as he kept some of his duties that I assist him with.

Rhea, San Fran sounds fun, ballgame? Enjoy your time. I have Turbo Jam on tap for tomorrow morning.

Karen, hope you are okay, probably busy.

Jeanette

Good Morning!:)

Woke up this morning realizing that I'd forgotten to post. Tried to get to bed early, and I guess that's what's happens. It's this deadline thing -- this is the last book in this series and so the ending is important, and I'm still not entirely sure how it's going to go -- but then, I never am until the characters and I get there...:+

A friend of mine brought over a DVD of some classical music and this Irish conductor (can't recall his name), but it was so inspiring that I got some ideas on how to bring about the ending of the book. We'll see... In the meantime, I've got about another 130 pages yet to write... Whew!

It was Supersets for me yesterday, but my weight is back up there today, so I gotta make sure to eat better today. And then it's Drill Max cardio on my workout schedule for today!

Jeanette -- I did miss your posts -- sorry it got lost -- am planning to buy the CTX series either today or this weekend. Am looking forward to it, actually. I was looking at Jari Love's workouts at collage video and she looks good. Get inspired with your workouts.

Hope your bike climb was great -- and then your niece's new boy. How exciting. How very exciting. I so loved being a new mother that when I see the babies, I always remember.

Rhea -- you are inspiring -- well done on your workouts -- bummer that they didn't send all the things you need for the rims, so that you have to make an extra trip -- but you're right -- for a long trip you need to make sure that the vehicle is in good shape.

Oh, I did email Becky privately. She said to say "hi" to you all, that she misses posting, but that these next few months are the busiest in her life. Said her workouts are going well, she just doesn't have time to post.

Anyway, Have a really super, holiday weekend! Hope it's filled with much joy! And of course, some terrific workouts!:7

I know that most people don't check in on weekends -- and this being a holiday weekend, probably no one will check in, but just wanted to log on to post that it was Drill Max for me today -- 39 min. premix -- it was tough for me, but good.

Tomorrow, am planning HSC -- a premix.

Have a super weekend, everyone!:7

Good Evening!:)

Hope everyone's weekend was a good one. And hope you had much chocolate.:)

Did the 51 min. premix on HSC on Sat -- today was my day off -- really like that workout. Time to look at next week and what I have planned.

Since I'm still detoxing to a degree, I think I'll stick with moderate intensity workouts, perhaps if I feel up to it on one of these days, I'll slip in a 60 minute workout, but for now, I'll just do the moderate intensity.

Mon: IMAX2 -- last half
Tues: Push/Pull
Wed: Short cardio and stretch
Thurs: Supersets
Fri: IMAX1 -- first half
Sat: Short circuit workout -- not sure what just yet
Sun: Off

Work wise: 10 pages a day. Also, hope to get the CTX series this week -- was going to buy it over the weekend, but have been busy.

Well, have a super day, everyone and some terrific workouts. :7

Good morning,

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a big birthday party for my dad, age 75 and niece, age 14. Had 28 people that I counted and most all were family. Nice time. DH BBQ'd ribs and tri-tip. Had a group bike ride yesterday. Only 3 of us showed up, thought the weather was nice. I kept it on the lower intensity side as I have a bike time trial tomorrow night. Today's workout was Slim Series Tone It Up. This is the last week of a SS type rotation. Will be switching it up next week.

Karen, enjoy Imax2 today. Always love the music on that one. Hope you get to order CTX as I think you've wanted to for a long time now. Just do it! Glad you heard from Becky. I think she mentioned how busy she would be this time of the year.

Hi Rhea, hope you enjoyed your weekend too.

Jeanette

Good morning!

Had a great weekend. Watched the Giants lose on Sat. But the seats were just too awesome. They were right on the third base side, behind home plate. When I was in the corridor, Willie McCovey passed me...I could have reached out and touched him. Rick went up and shook Peter McGowan's hand (he owns the Giants and Rick used to work for Safeway...so I guess that is why he went up to him) It was fun. Then yesterday I got to see my friend from high school that I haven't seen in 25 years. We lost track of each other, but thanks to the internet, got back in tough. She looks just the same and hasn't changed a bit. We were right back as if we were still in high school. (yackity, yack, yak!) I wasn't planning on staying so long, but Rick and I didn't leave until 8:00. I'm pooped this morning. Too bad I have court.

Well, no workouts for me this weekend, which was good since I had worked out eight days in row...oops, didn't realize that until Fri. So Back on the rotation today. HIgh Step Training Advanced is on the schedule.

Have a great day!

Good Evening!:)

Jeanette -- Sounds like you really had a good time. What a great time to spend with family and then a nice ride afterwards. Yea! Last week of this rotation, huh? It has sounded really good.

Yes,I planned on buying the CTX series tonight but I got busy and it's late -- so tomorrow.

Rhea -- Geez, what a weekend. The Giants, great seats and stars -- wow! But most of all seeing an old friend -- and it was like the years just never passed. I've had that happen, too, not very often, though.

High Step Advanced is a tough workout. I think it's one of her tougher ones, actually. Hope you had fun.

IMAX2 went well today and my energy is almost back where it was -- I was jumping instead of making everything low impact. Hopefully, I'll be back on track soon.

It's Push/Pull for me tomorrow -- a strength workout, but I think of it as intermediate.

Wrote 7 pages today -- but it was good, I hope. Am going to shoot for 15 tomorrow. x(

Have a super day everyone and some terrific workouts!:7

Good morning,

Today's workout was the warmup and 1st combo from Rhythmic Step and then I switched to Step Blast and did 2 combos and the stretch. Fun! I have my bike time trial after work today so didn't want to do too much, but also wanted to work out leftover lactic acid from Sunday's ride. Think it will be windy this afternoon. Not looking forward to that.

Rhea, glad you enjoyed your time in San Fran. That's cool that you got to see some stars. How fun visiting with your girlfriend too.

Karen, woohoo on feeling better energywise!!! That's pretty cool! Hope you get your page count in for today. Going to order CTX today, huh? I really think you will like it lots. Just push "buy it"!!!

Got to run,

Jeanette

Okay, my ambitions ran higher than my energy. I got home, started to work out and then realized that I was so exhausted that I needed to quit. So I've shifting around the rotation. I'm not sure if I'll just do the High Step Training today and then be off a day for all the rest, or do the Hard Core Extreme/Interval Blast w/ Legs Premix. I might check and see how long each one is.

I guess I'm doing some painting on my days off, the spring cleaning bug hit and it is supposed to be rainy and yucky, so no yard work. Of course, I could just do some sewing, but noooooo....my brain says "paint!"
