KK - August Check-In

Good Evening!

Today was 1/2 of Cardio & Weights -- and I'm going to try to do the rest of the workout tonight before bed. That dreaded pound is back on and I need to take it off and I overate a little at dinner.:confused:

Janie, I sent you a review of the emoillant soap -- I sent it via Cathe -- so it's either here for you privately -- or it might have gotten sent to your private email. I don't know.

Rhea, how's the vacation? Bet it's great.

Am still struggling with the weight but the Eat & Stay Slim book is doing it's work and gradually it's coming off -- if I can keep myself from overeating at dinner.

Janie, that is the book. However, it is the 1979 version -- there's other versions out there that aren't nearly as good. I also have the 1997 version, but I found that it was a little more complex than the 1979 version and so I found I didn't really lose weight on it So this, again, is the 1979 version of Eat & Stay Slim -- I lost weight on this in the mid-80's and managed to keep it off using this book.

So when weight won't come off -- sometimes I'll go back to it -- and it usually does work for me. The ISBN for this book is: 0-696-01115-8.

Wow, Janie looks like you and Joey are doing great on your workouts.

My editor is going to try to send me the book in hard copy since I'm having such a hard time pulling it up. We'll see. I have a friend who says that he can convert the file to WP 8.0 for me -- which is a program that I like -- and then I can do the work on that -- meanwhile, yes, I will have to get the program and install it on my compuer. :confused:

KK, I think on Amazon.com I can get "Eat and Stay Slim" the 1979 version for only one penny. I'll go check it out. Joey and I are back with our exercises with the same gusto just before he left for Vegas. I'm so glad.

I hope your friend can convert the file to WP 8.0. Though technology is a wonderful thing, it can be a pain sometimes.;)

Hi! Today was a simple cardio -- from 4DS -- HIS -- 33 minutes -- good time for me.

Still working on trying to pull up this file that my editor sent me -- goodness -- I guess hard copy manuscripts are a thing of the past now -- which means I'm going to have to get a new program for my computer -- and get my regular computer fixed.:confused:

Just a quick post...vacation, smacation....I've been working all week. How did that happen? Been helping DH with his classroom....he is no good at the decorating thing. He is going to teach kindergarten, so it had to be bright and cheerful. I giggle every time I think of him with 20 five year olds. hehehe

Then I was a glutten for punishment and did my yard sale finally. Yuck. Now I'm trying to get my filthy house clean. The fun just keeps coming!:confused:

I did manage to get in two nice long workouts in this week though. Did Christi Taylor's Dance Fit; cardio intervals and a great ab workout. Pulled my back a bit today loading the darn truck, so I'm not sure I'll be able to workout tomorrow. Today's workout is yard sale clean-up and house work (oh and a not planned wash of the dogs since one of them decided that her perfumed needed to be whatever animal poopy that she rolled in....eewwwe.

Janie - it sounds like you are right back in the swing of things.

KK - hope that conversion works for you. DH gets very frustrated with my apple computer, but I think that is because he does not have much patience with learning the little differences between the pcs and the apples.

Rhea, So sorry you didn't get a vacation, vacation. Sounds like you got a lot done though. Good for you. How's your back doing form all the loading in the truck? Dogs perfume is gross.:confused:

Today is planned for two cardios. Right now, I'll do Christy Taylor Dance workout, then one from Kathy Smith step up just before dinner. Tomorrow is another cardio day, and plan on Cardio Coach, (thanks for the idea Deborah) in the morning and another dance DVD from Kathy Smith with Rumba, Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue, Samba. (Intermediate) It will be fun. If there is time during all that, then maybe hula hooping somewhere in-between. Monday we do Meso 3 with Disc 30 - Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps. I decided not to take a break until Tusesday, then it will be in the hot tub all day long. Just want to give my body a heck of a shock, then back to normal with the exercises. Need to lose some pounds big time.

Yea! I've improved again: Here is my workout today.

There are four sets of 3 exercises in each set, I also used 1# gloves in each hand in everything I did:

Standing Barbell Front Press (warm up) 27#'s @ 15 reps
Standing Barbell Front Press (warm up) 32#'s @ 12 reps

Standing Barbell Front Press 37#'s @ 7 reps
Barbell Curl 42#'s @ 7 reps
Flat Bench dumbell Tricep Extentions in ea. hand 13#'s @ 7 reps

Three more times like this, but no more warm ups.

Seated Lateral Raise (dumbells) in ea. hand 13#'s @ 7 reps
Incline curls on Stability ball (dumbells) in ea. hand 16#'s @ 7 reps
Seated Overhead Extensions One Arm (dumbells) ea. side 13#'s @ 7 reps

Three more times like this.

Seated rear Delts (dumbells) in ea. hand 16#'s @ 7 reps
Seated Concentration Curls (dumbells) one arm ea. side 16#'s @ 7 reps
Cross Body Kickbacks (dumbells) ea. side 13#'s @ 7 reps

Three more times like this.

Wow, I am really having trouble with Cathe's site these last few days -- Sunday,Monday and Tuesday -- it didn't even register my post yesterday of all things. And yet on my computer it showed that it took.

I'm on my husband's computer right now.

Anyway, Hi Rhea and Janie! Today was anaerobics day for me with Drill Max cardio only and then tonight I did 5 intervals (blasts only) from IMAX2.

Janie your exercise looks really great! I'm always so impressed with your workouts.

Rhea, your workouts look great, too!

Anyway, hopefully this post will take -- can't believe it didn't take yesterday -- but I'm really having some trouble pullngup this site for some reason all of a sudden.:confused:

KK, Hope your computer problems get solved. It's got to be frustrating.

Great workouts. You are doing workouts from DrillMax and IMAX2, then you are really pushing yourself. Those are hard! Am glad of premixes, thats for sure.

It was hard, but well worth it. I could have gone heavier with the bench presses, just couldn't lift it up from my waist to chest without hurting myself. Could have used my Smith Machine in the other room, but just didn't want to leave the family room this time. (too lazy I guess) Can't wait for the tower to be ready to ship out, to use as my spotter. Next time will have to use the Smith Machine to improve. Smith Machine is a weight lifting apparatus to do squats, presses, rows, back, leg presses...great machine.

Once again I'm on my husband's computer -- interesting that I just can't use internet explorer right now -- it's even slow and such on my husband's machine -- we're using Mozilla Firefox browser right now and it's fine.

Anyway, today was Total Body Sculpting -- heavy again -- the time is right -- gosh, I'm just having all kinds of problems trying to get everything done. Geez.:(

Still plan on doing the rest of IMAX2 tonight -- still trying to do something about my weight -- oh, how I want to lose a couple of pounds.

Anyway, Janie, your workouts look intense. Well done -- glad you said what the machine was for as I don't have any of these machines. Now I know what you meant.

Am having to work on my husband's computer to do my revisions, also -- interesting all this technology -- an it keeps changing and changing and changing.:confused:

Sure has been busy. Haven't even worked out this week. Got too warm in the afternoon and I have been pooped out from work. So I think I'll just wait and try and start on Sunday or something and pick back up on my CLX series. Might even start up the YBB in the mornings for a while again.

Well, back to the grind stone. Hope you are all doing well.....

Had a major scare today -- thought I'd really lost Georgie. As it turns out, he is still with us, thank goodness. But I spent all morning long looking for him and being very much griefy. But I did see him earlier and my husband has seen him today -- so he's around somewhere.

Today was step only from IMAX3 for me -- another 30 minute workout -- I just can't squeeze in more than that right now -- so tough to do the long hour workouts for me -- just don't have the time.

These revisions are tough -- I was so rushed on writing this book that I'm spending much time doing line edits -- as well as the major edits that my editor wants me to do.

Rhea, really sounds like you're swamped -- sometimes I call it overwhomped. Yeah, start again on Sunday -- some of these workouts you do sound so fun.

Cardio today with Kathy Smith. I't called Latin Rhythm Workout. It is full of CHa Cha Cha's, Merengue, Salsa...had so much fun. It was 50 min. of pure dance. Love that!

KK, So glad Georgie is OK. Our animals just know how to pull on our heart strings. Understand about the time. 30 minutes is good for cardio anyway. I don't envy you with the edits. Sounds like a lot of work.

Did I ever tell you that I don't like Plyo's. Well I don't!:mad: I know, I know, they are good for me. Just goes to show you how much I really do need them. Can't be a wimp now. Seems to me the exercises I hate the most are the ones I need the most.

Good Evening!

I hear you Janie on the plyos. But yeah, they are good for you. :confused:

Tough weekend for us. We saw Georgie, but he didn't come home and so I went out looking for him and found him in a neighbor's yard -- picked him up and brought him home. Then found out he was very sick -- it's why he hadn't come home, I guess. He got into some sort of poison -- I figure he ate some grass or other thing that was very poisonous -- he likes his greens, but he doesn't seem to be able to differientiate between those that are okay and those that aren't -- he did this once last year, also.

Anyway, cause he was outside -- he was sick with this for probably a day and a half -- so for the past four days we've been nursing him with nutrients and such -- about every hour.

He's been real sick. Tonight finally he got up and wanted petting -- he's been spitting at me when I touch him close to his stomach. Still not eating -- but that's okay for now -- I'm still nursing him.

Tough, tough weekend. On Saturday, I had to leave him to go to a shower and when I came home, he was throwing up -- and he did last night, too. He woke me up with is around 4:30 this morning and so I gave him more nutrients and sat up with him.

No exercise for me today -- Friday and Sat were 1/2 each of LIC -- that's a pretty cool circuit workout.

Anyway, have a super evening. I'm off to bed now, after checking on Georgie. (I have catnip planted in my garden -- I'm going to show him where it is.) I'm also thinking of planting a bunch of wheat grass and barley grass -- just for him.

KK, Please keep us posted on Georgie. Poor little guy. Perhaps you should take him to see the vet? That is if you are not seeing any improvement.

KK - how is little Georgie? I hate hearing about sick animals cause they can't tell you where it hurts. If he is wanting some attention, that is a step in the right direction.

Well, back on the workout band wagon today. Did YBB workout at lunch and then did CLX when I got home. I feel great. Going to eat a nice healthy dinner and NO wine. (must convince myself not to have any since it is one of my vices lately...it adds way too much to my tummy circumference)

Actually I did take Georgie to the vet today. This morning I didn't see improvement and so I took him in. His vitals were all good, which was good but he was dehydrated and so they hydrated him and then I came home -- where I'm continuing the nutrients to neutralize the poison in the body. Tonight he ate a slight little bit -- right now I'm giving him raw milk and cream, as well -- it has all the enzymes intact and the cream is from grass fed cows, which means it's high in essential fatty acids -- which should help neutralize the poisons as well. I hope.

I know what you mean, Rhea -- they can't tell you where it hurts -- I'm so glad that I found him -- cause he hadn't come home -- so at least we have this chance to handle.

I'll keep you posted on him. Right now I'm up late with him and then up early, too.

Didn't exercise on Sunday or yesterday but today it was the anaerobics from 4DS Bootcamp -- it's a really good length for me. Plus, when I was out grocery shopping the other day, I picked up another body ball -- so now I have that to use on the strength workouts.

So glad to see you getting back into the groove, Rhea.:)

I love the pictures, Janie. I looked at them over and over -- what a beautiful yard you have. And your daughter is gorgeous. Look at those flat abs on her. :) And then there's your grandson -- what a cutey. Goodness! I'd be showing pictures, too.
