Kids rollerblades

Hello Ladies. My 5 year old twin girls learned how to ride their bikes without training wheels at the beginning of summer. I am ready to start teaching rollerskating or rollerblading and this winter I want them to start learning to ice skate. I own rollerblades. So I am opting to just go for rollerblades. I checked Sports Authority they want $80.00 a pair but they are expandable up to 4 sizes. So at least 4 years they could get out of them. The rollerskates were 29.99 expandable to 2 sizes. My question do any of you have any ideas on where I can purchase cheaper rollerblades for kids just starting out I tried local rinks and the one is sold out they can order and it will take 1 week for them to come in. Any tips you can share do you think I should start at plain old rollerskates. I did the expandable metal ones. But I heard if they can rollerblade they can ice skate. Is that true? I do not nor have I ice skated I am going to learn this year also.

Thank You

I bought my 5 yr old son rollerblades at Target for around $20 - $25 and they are adjustable. He loved them. It did help with his ice skating, he is much better and more confident on the ice.

Oh my gosh I did not know Target sold them I thought they only had the plastic rollerskates. I was not even looking. Walmart said they did not have any I would probably have to go to a Sports Store. I will be looking into it today.

Thank you

If you have Play It Again Sports in your area, you could try there. You can get almost new skates for a really good price, and they're usually a great brand name, like Rollerblade. I get my daughter's ice skates there and they always look like they've never even been worn.

My phone book does not show one in my area so I will check a website see if they have one in another surrounding area.
