Kids and flat bike tires!!

Ok I am going to call my town flat tire city!!! my kids can flatten a tire nearly every day, but yet I ride everywhere on my bike and NEVER get a flat tire! so whats up with these kids and tires!!

When my son was about 8 years old, he would get a lot of flat tires. He discovered it was cool to make skid marks. All that summmer we had black marks on our driveway and he wore out his tires.

We used to jump curbs and rode up and down stairs when I was a wee kids. Did they blow their tires out?

no the don't blow them , the go out to ride the bike the next day and the tire is flat and they say "but I didn't do anything" yeah right, probably rode through a field or something, not many sidewalks here so there are thorns, I tend to ride on the side of the rode because I don't want a flat LOL. What this city needs is some roads on the side just for bikers. to keep them safe and they can ride without getting flat tires everyday LOL

Around here they are converting old train tracks to bike paths. They're great! A nice steady ride for miles.

My wife's bike is a $300 bike shop bike and has never had a flat. The kids bikes are from Walmart and get flats all the time. the innertubes are made out of different grades of rubber. Replace the tubes with better ones.

You can buy thorn proof tubes (heavier rubber) or can buy Slime (green stuff) and inject into tube. They even have Slime tubes. A bike shop can help.
